EPCOT Countries World Showcase: Brief History

Epcot World Showcase - history

Since 1982, EPCOT has been a favorite among the four theme parks located at Walt Disney World in Florida. When Walt Disney was imagining this park, he wanted it to be a place that showcased all of the amazing things the future could hold. Quite literally, he wanted it to be a place where people could live and enjoy the benefits of a technologically-advanced and master-planned city. While that dream didn't quite come true in the way he wanted it, EPCOT still presents a forward-looking dream that never stops thinking about tomorrow.

EPCOT, which stands for Experimental Prototype Community of Tomorrow, is today being reimagined and given new life. With new rides such as Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind and Remy's Ratatouille Adventure, we are seeing this park come to life in new ways. It has also gained a lot of attention for its annual festivals such as the ever-popular Food and Wine Festival.

The park was recently split up into what Disney is calling neighborhoods. We think they chose the word ‘neighborhood' intentionally as it makes us think of Walt's original vision for the park. The four neighborhoods are World Celebration, World Discovery, World Nature, and World Showcase. For this guide, we're going to focus exclusively on the World Showcase neighborhood and all the EPCOT countries!

You can see the EPCOT map for everything you need to know about navigating the park, including details on the locations of all the areas, rides, and attractions.

EPCOT World Showcase: Pavilions

Epcot World Showcase - lagoon

Before we break down everything you need to know about the EPCOT countries, let's talk about the pavilions. The World Showcase neighborhood is home to 11 distinct attractions known as pavilions. Each pavilion represents a nation from around the world and they're located around a beautiful lake called The World Showcase Lagoon. They almost form a full circle around the lagoon and they are connected by a walking path that takes you ‘around the world'.

Each pavilion is unique in its architecture, design, attractions, food, and shopping. We love it because every pavilion makes you feel as if you've hopped on a plane and traveled to the respective country. Plus, Disney actually hires people from different countries so that they can act as ambassadors of their countries in EPCOT! This is especially fun if you love languages as the cast members from different countries are happy to speak their language with you.

In each pavilion, you'll find food and shopping that is quintessential to the country. For example, you'll sometimes find brands and menu items that you won't always find anywhere you go. This makes for a remarkably unique and authentic experience! One tradition that people love today is called the ‘Drinking Around the World Challenge‘. This is where people challenge themselves to enjoy an alcoholic drink from each of the pavilions. We're dizzy just thinking about it, but it's a fan-favorite activity!

List of EPCOT Countries

As of writing this EPCOT World Showcase guide, the 11 pavilions are:

  • Mexico
  • Norway
  • China
  • Germany
  • Italy
  • The American Adventure
  • Japan
  • Morocco
  • France
  • United Kingdom
  • Canada

As you can see, there is quite a variety of cultures represented so by the time you make it around the path of EPCOT countries, you'll have made lots of fun and new discoveries! So, with that said, let's hop into each of the pavilions and explore what they have to offer!

EPCOT Countries: Mexico

Mexico Disney World

Upon entering the World Showcase Lagoon area, we recommend making a left and heading toward Mexico first. Disclaimer: which side to start with is a topic of hot debate, but we're left all the way!

The Mexican pavilion is a beautiful recreation of an old-world Mexican pyramid. Its stature is impressive and for good reason. It is one of the few pavilions that holds a lot to do indoors versus simply outside. Here, you can walk into this massive pyramid and find lots to see, do and eat! This is why it's our favorite place to start. Outside of the pavilion, you'll even find some more shops and restaurants. You can even meet Donald in his sarape and sombrero garb!

As we'll do with all of the pavilions, let's break down all you need to know about this pavilion!

Dining

San Angel Inn Restaurante

The San Angel Inn Restaurante is located inside of the Mexico pavilion and offers some of the best food you'll find in EPCOT. From its beautiful decor and setting to an authentically delicious menu, you have to put this restaurant at the top of your list. It is located toward the back of the pavilion, which is great because the seating area overlooks a small lagoon setting. The dim lighting and candles on the table make it a memorable meal you won't soon forget! Reservations are strongly recommended.

La Cava del Tequila

Epcot World Showcase - cava

La Cava del Tequila is a small bar also located inside the pavilion. Here, you can enjoy lots of tequila options, as well as my favorite drink on all Disney property: the Avocado Margarita! This drink is such a smooth cocktail to enjoy that balances perfectly the flavors of avocado and spice. Even if you don't like avocado, you may still enjoy this drink! Otherwise, there are a ton of other tequila-based cocktails to enjoy.

Choza de Margarita

Epcot World Showcase - mexico choza

Choza de Margarita is a small quick-service restaurant located outside of the pavilion. Here, you'll find some grab-and-go Mexican dishes such as empanadas and taquitos. This is another place where you can grab a refreshing margarita to go! Don't worry about the line, it can look long, but it moves quickly.

La Cantina de San Angel

This is another quick-service restaurant that serves all your favorite Mexican classics. However, here you can enjoy the large outdoor seating area that overlooks the lagoon. It's a great place for a quick bite without having to worry about a reservation. The nachos here are a standout favorite!

La Hacienda de San Angel

La Hacienda de San Angel is another sit-down restaurant, but it's located outside as well. This restaurant overlooks the lagoon so if you time your dinner reservation just right, you can enjoy a beautiful view of the fireworks! The food is great here but we'll be honest and say that we prefer the food at San Angel Inn Restaurante. So, we always try to get a reservation over there first and use this restaurant as our backup. Reservations are strongly recommended.

Shopping

La Tienda Encantada

If you love to shop you're in luck because the Mexico pavilion has a ton of shopping to enjoy! Up first we have La Tienda Encantada. Located inside the pavilion, this boutique offers small leather goods and souvenirs that you'll get a kick out of seeing. It's a great place to find a gift for someone back home!

La Princesa de Cristal

La Princesa de Cristal specializes in crystal gifts that range from authentic Mexican designs to more generic Disney souvenirs. Prices will range as you can find small trinkets to large and expensive items.

Plaza de los Amigos

Plaza de los Amigos is the store you'll see right when you enter the main portion of the pavilion. However, here you won't find a typical small boutique as the store is set up on carts that encompass the entire floor of the pavilion. You'll find lots of shorts, hoodies, Mexican clothes, glassware, and beyond. It's the best part of the shopping experience, in our opinion, as it offers lots of variety and fun!

Attractions and Entertainment

Gran Fiesta Tour Starring The Three Caballeros

The Three Caballeros

Remember how we said this pavilion was huge? Well, how about also squeezing in a ride! That's right, the Gran Fiesta Tour ride is a slow-moving boat ride that takes you around the colorful sights and sounds of Mexico. It stars The Three Caballeros which is a classic Disney film. The line for this ride is never too long, but if for some reason it is, don't worry. It constantly moves as the boats are set up in the same way It's a Small World is, for example.

Mexico Folk Art Gallery

Upon entering the pavilion, you'll walk through an art installation that showcases the beautiful art found in Mexico. Recently, it featured the art from Disney's Coco. Otherwise, it's a museum of sorts that shows off lots of beautiful art.

Music of Mexico

Music of Mexico is a small venue outside of the pavilion where you'll often find a live mariachi band with dancers. It's a lot of fun and easy to catch as you stroll through the outside pieces of this pavilion.

Meet Donald Duck in Mexico

This is a fun character meet experience where you'll get to pose with Donald Duck in a full Mexican look. Lines can sometimes get long so be sure to check your guide if it's something you know you'll want to do!

Pro Tip: Our pro tip for the Mexico pavilion is to make sure you check out the La Cava Experience. For a (hefty) fee, you can enjoy a private tequila tasting with an expert. You get to do it inside the pavilion and will benefit from a private seating area. It's expensive, but if you're into tequila, you may want to consider it. Many people don't know this exists so be sure to at least check it out and decide for yourself!

EPCOT Countries: Norway

Norway Disney World

The Norway pavilion is our next stop on our tour around the world of EPCOT countries. This pavilion offers lots of unique Norwegian architecture with incredible detail. Recently, this pavilion found new life when it opened the Frozen Ever After ride! While there isn't a ton to do here, it's now a popular pavilion where many come to see Anna and Elsa!

Dining

Akershus Royal Banquet Hall

The Akershus Royal Banquet Hall is finally back to its pre-pandemic offering! This restaurant offers family-style unique Norwegian dishes as well as American classics that will please everyone in your party. The best part, however, is that this location offers a princess-character dining experience! That's right, with your reservation, you'll get to meet with several of the Disney princesses and enjoy a magical dining experience! Reservations strongly recommended.

Kringla Bakeri Og Kafe

Kringla Bakeri Og Kafe is a quick eatery where you can find authentic Norwegian treats such as kringla sweet pretzels and flatbreads. If you're looking for something unique to eat, be sure to check out this delectable spot!

Shopping

The Fjording

Epcot World Showcase - norway shopping

While the Norwegian pavilion in the EPCOT World Showcase, doesn't have a ton of shopping, it does have The Fjording. This boutique is a large store that you'll find upon exiting the Frozen Ever After ride. You may, of course, access it through the normal front entrance. This store offers a lot of Norwegian brands such as the famous Helly Hansen. Some of these brands are expensive but worth the splurge if you can afford it! You can also find Norwegian-themes Disney gifts.

Attractions and Entertainment

Frozen Ever After

The star attraction in the Norwegian pavilion, and even in EPCOT, is Frozen Ever After. This attraction takes guests through Arendelle and even offers a backward drop! Fear not, this is not an adventurous ride and is appropriate for all ages. You'll get to hear songs from the movie and see all of your favorite characters!

Steve Church Gallery

This attraction is more of a mini museum but is housed inside a beautiful wooden structure. Inside, you'll find lots of historical artifacts on exhibit and an explanation of the many historical ties the Norwegian culture has to Disney. If nothing else, it's a nice spot to enjoy some air conditioning during the summer months!

Pro Tip: A lot of people spend money by purchasing the individual lightning lane to Frozen Ever After. However, if you rope drop the park, you will often find short lines in the morning! This will save you some money and knock it out of the way early in the morning!

EPCOT Countries: China

China Disney World

Now let's head over to China in the EPCOT World Showcase! The China pavilion is a remarkable sight as the architecture is incredibly detailed with many authentic references to the Chinese culture. You will first notice the large entrance gate that leads to a building inspired by the Temple of Heaven in Beijing, China. More on what's inside later! This EPCOT country has a lot to offer including a mini recreation of an authentic Chinese garden. You'll want to spend time here so plan accordingly!

Dining

Nine Dragons Restaurant

Nine Dragons Restaurant is this pavilions only full sit-down restaurant. While it doesn't look big on the outside, the restaurant is actually large and with beautiful decor inside. Here, you'll find typical Chinese dishes that you might recognize from your dining experience at home. For this reason, we typically don't head here unless we're really craving Chinese food. It's still authentic and delicious, but many of the menu items can easily be found at restaurants outside of the park.

Lotus Blossom Cafe

The Lotus Blossom Cafe offers similar food to the Nine Dragons except that it's a quick-service location. We use it as an opportunity to grab a quick bite before heading to our next stop!

Joy of Tea

The Joy of Tea is a small stand located right in front of the pavilion specializing in Chinese teas and small snacks. From time to time we like to grab a drink and enjoy a refreshing beverage!

Shopping

House of Good Fortune

The single boutique in the China pavilion is the House of Good Fortune. This large boutique offers a lot of variety so you're bound to find something you like! While you won't find many Disney gifts, you will find tons of authentic Chinese gifts that will be unique to this pavilion. Plus, you'll even find Chinese snacks that you'd only find in China!

Attractions and Entertainment

Reflections of China

Reflections of China

Reflections of China is located inside the large temple in the pavilion. It's home to a circle-vision 360-degree movie screen that shows off the beauty of everything China has to offer. While the film is a bit outdated, the landscapes and messages are still authentic today. It's a nice film to watch if you want to get an overview of this massive nation!

Meet Mulan in China

Enjoy this unique opportunity to meet Mulan! at regular intervals throughout the day, you can enjoy a mini meet and greet with Mulan. The best part is that there is rarely a long line for this experience!

House of the Whispering Willows

This attraction is a unique experience where you can see the art of Shanghai Disney. If you're not planning a trip to see it in person anytime soon, then head over to this location and see some beautiful art!

Pro Tip: Our pro tip here is one we've mentioned, but worth reiterating. The Mulan character experience is one of the easiest ways to meet a Disney princess for free and with little to no wait! Since it's a bit tucked away, many people miss it. So be sure to check it out while you're there!

EPCOT Countries: Germany

Epcot World Showcase -

Germany has a ton to offer so get ready because this place isn't going to be a short stop! It is widely considered to be one of the most beautiful pavilions because the attention to detail is so precise here. Upon arrival, you feel like you've stepped into a fairy tale with beautiful wood carvings everywhere and architecture that you don't see in your normal day-to-day. So, grab your stein, and let's jump into it!

Dining

Biergarten Restaurant

Epcot World Showcase - biergarten

One of the most famous and popular restaurants in EPCOT, Biergarten Restaurant is an experience you'll want to try at least once so put it on your Disney bucket list! This family-style restaurant is located inside of the pavilion in a beautifully decorated dining hall that will take you straight to Oktoberfest. Plus, there's even live entertainment to go with your meal! You'll want to come hungry as the portions here are very generous and include starchy items like potatoes, meats, and bread. Reservations strongly recommended.

Karamell-Kuche

If you love caramel then don't skip this stop! Karamell-Kuche offers sweet treats that mostly center around caramel. Here, you'll find lots of caramel apples and treats that you can take as you enjoy the pavilion!

Sommerfest

Sommerfest Disney World

If you don't have a lot of time to spare, then be sure to stop by Sommerfest. This quick-service window offers a good variety of tasty treats and drinks, including, of course, pretzels! Even if you're not looking to eat, swing by because menu items change and you might find something you didn't know you wanted!

Shopping

Das Kaufhaus

Believe it or not, the Germany pavilion has a whopping seven total shops! Let's begin with Das Kaufhaus. This boutique offers apparel that is mostly geared toward German athletic brands. There are often Disney sports items in here so if you're looking for something athletic, be sure to check it out!

Volkshunst

Cuckoo clocks have strong ties to Germany so if you're curious to see some beautiful craftsmanship, head over to Volkhunst. They have lots to see and you can even take one home with you! The store also sells authentic German gifts.

Kunstarbelt in Kristall

If you love crystal then you're going to love seeing the creations in this shop. This boutique sells beautiful crystal pieces ranging from mugs, jewelry, glassware, and even inexpensive gifts to take home! If you're in the market for new glassware, be sure to check this spot out!

Weinkeller

Weinkeller is your stop if you're looking to try authentic German wines and beers. They have a minibar inside, but it's in the shops category because they have a huge selection of bottles that you can take home to enjoy later! You can even find a large collection of custom steins to make as a great souvenir. We love trying a new one every time we go and you can take things on the go!

Stein Haus

Stein Haus is yet another boutique that offers a large collection of steins, but also general gifts. If you haven't found anything in the other stores, yet, chances are you'll find something here!

Die Weihnachts Ecke

Attention all Christmas fans: you will LOVE this store! Die Weihnachts Ecke is a small, but gorgeous boutique with all things Christmas! So, if you're looking for a souvenir ornament or your next tree topper, this is where you're bound to find something you love!

Glaskunst

If you want to take a very unique gift home, then be sure to stop by Glaskunst where you might even get to see live glass blowing! Here, you can customize steins or create personalized gifts with the help of the cast member. Not a lot of pavilions offer this so definitely check this out if you're looking for that perfect gift.

Attractions and Entertainment

Meet Snow White

Epcot World Showcase - snow white

While in Germany, be sure you meet Snow White and take a picture with her! This character spot is located just to the left of the pavilion before arriving at the middle entry point. Lines can get long with such a popular character so plan accordingly!

Pro Tip: The Germany pavilion offers some of the best sights of the nighttime spectacular on the World Showcase Lagoon so keep this in mind if you're looking for a free spot to grab some incredible views!

EPCOT Countries: Italy

Epcot World Showcase - italy

Moving a little south on the actual world map, we arrive in Italy! This large pavilion is a favorite for its dining and beautiful picture spots. After all, it's here that you see a ton of Disney Wedding photographs. This pavilion is large and a pleasant stroll either day or night.

Dining

Gelateria Toscana

Starting off with something sweet, Gelateria Toscana offers the people's favorite: gelato! With tons of flavors to choose from, it's a delight to enjoy on a hot day or even as a sweet dessert at the end of a meal!

Via Napoli Ristorante e Pizzeria

This restaurant is known for serving up some delicious pizza creations and other Italian favorites. Although it doesn't get rave reviews, we still think it's tasty enough if you're looking for something easy and not too adventurous. Reservations strongly recommended.

Tutto Gusto Wine Cellar

Wine Cellar Disney World

We love the Tutto Gusto Wine Cellar! It's a walk-up bar that serves tons of cocktails and Italian beers and wines. It's got a walk-up bar so no worries if you forget to make a reservation. Plus, there's even seating inside if you want to take advantage and put your feet up for a bit!

Tutto Italia Ristorante

Epcot World Showcase - tutto italia

Tutto Italia Ristorante is another full-service restaurant that serves fine Italian dishes. It is similar to Via Napoli, although we hear better things about Tutto Italia. Maybe give them both a try on your extended trip and see which one you love more!

Shopping

Il Bel Cristallo

Il Bel Cristallo offers unique and sometimes pricy Italian brand gifts. Here, you'll find perfumes, colognes, leather goods, and other fine apparel. They even sell Venetian ball masks! It's a cool place, but be sure to have your wallets ready!

La Gemma Elegante

La Gemma Elegante is technically an extension of Il Bel Cristello, but you'll see it as two separate shops on the map. We lump them into one as the items they sell are all under one roof and you can walk freely between the two.

Attractions and Entertainment

The entertainment in the Italian pavilion changes seasonally. While there is no staple attraction, there is often some type of performance located in the middle of the grand plaza on the stage. It can range from a juggler to a storyteller that will entertain the kids and adults, too!

Pro Tip: The entrance to the wine cellar is often closed from the front. Don't worry! We've got your tip. If you walk into the main entrance to Tutto Italia and make an immediate right, you'll end up right inside the cellar. People often don't see this because they assume you need a reservation to the restaurant but you don't to get into the cellar. If the cast member asks, simply say you're headed to the bar and you're in!

EPCOT Countries: The American Adventure

American Adventure

The American Adventure officially marks the halfway (geographically) point on the lagoon! It's a large pavilion that is also home to the America Gardens Theatre where you'll enjoy live concerts and performances throughout the year such as the Eat to the Beat series during Food and Wine festival. We especially love the Candlelight Processional during Christmastime! While some may not be traveling from far to get to something American, it's still a really neat pavilion to check out.

Dining

Fife & Drum Tavern

The Fife & Drum Tavern is the place to go for some delicious American-style BBQ! You'll often see the smoker and grill going at full force during the day and believe us when we say that it's totally worth it! Ranging from chicken to beef to pork, if you're a fan of this American delight, you'll surely find something that makes you want to grab a bite!

Regal Eagle Smokehouse: Craft Drafts & Barbecue

Epcot World Showcase - regal eagle

You didn't think we'd stray too far, did you?! That's right, at Regal Eagle, you can enjoy more types of BBQ along with some classic American brews. This restaurant has a large indoor seating area so you don't have to worry about finding a place to eat. The menu here can also accommodate allergies so it's a great spot if you want to make sure everyone in your party can eat something great!

Block & Hans

Block & Hans is a small stand that serves American Brews and snacks. It's not much different from what you can find in the other two locations, but it's worth a try if you're simply strolling by the pavilion area.

Funnel Cake

What's more American than funnel cake?! This stand has a classic favorite with a variety of toppings to choose from!

Shopping

Art of Disney

The American pavilion is not a shopping destination, but it does have The Art of Disney boutique. We love this shop because it's here where you can find Disney art and collectible gifts to take home. You can even create your own Disney art piece complete with frame and all!

Attractions and Entertainment

Voices of Liberty

The Voice of Liberty group is an ensemble choir that sings beautiful melodies inside the pavilion's rotunda. The shows last 15 minutes and it's a joy to listen to especially when you can grab a seat on of the benches.

American Heritage Gallery

The American Heritage Gallery is a small museum where you can learn about the fabric of this nation and the many voices and experiences that make the American experience. On our last visit, we enjoyed walking through the display of the history of Jazz as well as the Native American tribes that were found in this country before the arrival of the settlers.

The American Adventure

Epcot World Showcase - American adventure

Located inside the theatre, The American Adventure show tells the story of our nation through animatronics, video, and music. It's a great show to see if you're looking to escape the heat and is a good reminder of the history that this country is founded on.

Pro Tip: Don't forget to ask about shipping at the Art of Disney! Some stores, like this one, will ship items straight to your home so you don't have to worry about it breaking on its journey home. So, when you're shopping, shop confidently knowing that you don't have to worry about something fitting in your luggage or breaking during your travels.

EPCOT Countries: Japan

Epcot World Showcase - pagoda

The Japan pavilion is one of our favorite EPCOT countries for two reasons: the food and the sights! This massive pavilion boasts a large amount of architectural wonders including the massive pagoda that proudly sits at the entrance of the pavilion. It has a lot to see and do so this is another one where you might want to reserve some time to wander!

Dining

Takumi-Tei

We're going to start this with a restaurant that not many people know about. Takumi-Tei is an almost-hidden gem of the Japan pavilion because its entrance is pretty hidden. However, the food here is fantastic, but it's going to cost you. Depending on the pre-fixe menu you choose, you'll fork over $250 per person for a meat-based option or $150 for a plant-based option. That doesn't even include drinks or tip! We've not tried it, but let us know if you have! Reservations strongly recommended.

Teppan Edo

Epcot World Showcase - teppan edo

Teppan Edo is one of our all-time favorite restaurants in EPCOT and around Walt Disney World. This hibachi experience is something you won't soon forget and serves incredibly delicious meals. It's not too pricey, but it can add up if you upgrade your protein or add several drinks. However, add it to your list for next time, especially if you love hibachi!

Katsura Grill

Katsura Grill is a quick-service option that serves smaller bites and bowls. It's located on a nice garden hill so the walk up to it is really pleasant. Be sure to grab a seat in one of the gardens and enjoy the tranquil water sounds throughout!

Shiki-Sai: Sushi Izakaya

Tokyo Dining officially closed earlier this year to make room for Shiki-Sai: Sushi Izakaya. Located in the same main building as Teppan Edo and Takumi-Tei, this restaurant will specialize in sushi and other authentic Japanese creations. We're eager to give it a try and see if it's good!

Shopping

Mitsukoshi Department Store

Mitsukoshi Department Store is a huge store located under Teppan Edo. The name might give it away, but it really is a department store chain that is found in Japan. Therefore, you'll naturally find tons of items here in all different categories. We love getting the Japanese snacks that you won't find anywhere else here!

Attractions and Entertainment

Matsuriza

Epcot World Showcase - matsuriza

Before you enter the pavilion, you will sometimes find the Matsuriza show just outside of the pagoda. This show is based on Japanese drums that will have your heart pounding with excitement!

Bijutsu-kan Gallery

Cute culture is what you'll learn about inside the Bijutsu-kan Gallery. You'll learn all about what it is and how the Japanese love it. Plus, you'll get to see a little bit about Tokyo Disney and the work that went on to build it!

Pro Tip: Many people overlook the fact that behind the pagoda is a koi pond with live fish! It's neat to stand on the edge and watch the fish swim around in their natural-like habitat. It's an easy and free thing to check out that will impress the kids!

EPCOT Countries: Morocco

Morocco Disney World

The Moroccan pavilion is next and this is one of the most photo-ready pavilions of the EPCOT countries. The architecture is not something you're going to find anywhere else and it's one of the few pavilions where you can actually wander around and explore the nooks and crannies. It's got a lagoon-front restaurant, like Mexico, so it's actually one of the bigger pavilions even if it doesn't look like it!

Dining

Tangierine Café: Flavors of the Medina

If you want to try something different, but also delicious, then check out Tangierine Café: Flavors of the Medina. This quick-service station has wonderful and small bites to try that are inspired by the tastes of Morocco and the Mediterranean. The Falafel pita is always a great choice!

Oasis Sweets & Sips

Oasis Sweets & Sips is a small window located right next to the shops in the outer part of the pavilion. It has a limited menu but serves bites to enjoy on the go as well as delicious beverages.

Spice Road Table

Epcot World Showcase - spice road

Spice Road Table is a popular restaurant known for its great food and for being one of the locations that sell dinner packages to see shows at night. We love this restaurant because the ambiance is great and the food is never a disappointment! Reservations strongly recommended.

Shopping

Souk-al-Magreb

Epcot World Showcase - aladdin

Souk-al-Magreb is the first store you'll see upon walking through this pavilion and it has unique Moroccan gifts that are typical of the region. It's a great place to find something different for someone special back home.

Unfortunately, a lot of the shopping in the Morocco pavilion is still not back since the pandemic, but we're hopeful that soon we'll get to see more of the old shops come back to life!

Attractions and Entertainment

Gallery of Arts and History

This Gallery offers guests historical and artistic perspectives of Morocco. Spend some time inside and you'll learn a lot about the region, its people, and some of the international events that are hosted here. It's a great way to see some amazing art without having to travel far!

Meet Princess Jasmine in Morocco

Here is another chance to meet one of your favorite Disney princesses! You'll want to check your guide the day of for the latest times, but if you get there early you can be on your way quickly after having a meet and greet with her!

Pro Tip: If you love Henna, then you might get lucky and find Henna artists at the Morocco pavilion who can design something great for you to rock! The availability varies, so you might have to get lucky, but be sure to look out for it, if you're a fan.

EPCOT Countries: France

France Disney World

The France pavilion was already big before it was expanded recently so now we can safely say it's massive ut of all the EPCOT countries! All of the sights and sounds you think of when you think about this beautiful country are here in this pavilion so be ready for some amazing food, great shopping, and lively entertainment. You may even run into some Disney characters here! This pavilion is also very popular because of its proximity to the International Gateway entrance.

Dining

Les Vins des Chefs de France

Les Vins des Chefs de France is a small stand located just in front of the main part of the pavilion. If you're wanting to grab something quickly, this is your place to go. However, given the popularity of this pavilion, it can sometimes have a line. You'll find some refreshing cocktail creations as well as small bites to enjoy.

Chefs de France

If you want brasserie-style French food, then you'll want to check out Chefs de France. With its beautiful decor inside, this restaurant is popular for having classic favorites such as French onion soup and escargot at a not-too-expensive price. Put it on your list if you want a dining experience without a huge price tag! Reservation strongly recommended.

Monsieur Paul

If you are ready to spend some serious bucks, then you have to try Monsieur Paul. This restaurant is known for having some of the best food around town with high-end service and experience. The French classics you'd want to try are all there, but you'll even find some unique offerings. The seating here is upstairs so it's going to feel more refined and exclusive. Reservation strongly recommended.

L'Artisan des Glaces

For something sweet, head over to L'Artisan des Glaces where you'll find gourmet-style ice cream. It's a small shop that can have a long line but it moves quickly!

Les Halles Boulangerie-Patisserie

Epcot World Showcase - les halles

If you're looking for those classic French pastries and desserts, then look no further than Les Halles Boulangerie-Patisserie. You'll find more parties and desserts than you can eat here along with coffee and teas. They also serve savory treats so you could easily get full from this stop alone!

La Crêperie de Paris

Epcot World Showcase - creperie

As the newest spot in the pavilion, this restaurant serves crêpes in all of the forms you can imagine. Whether it's savory or sweet, you'll find something you enjoy. The best part is that they even have a window where you can order your creations to go! Check out our guide here if you want to learn more.

Shopping

Plume et Palette

Plume et Palette is a fragrance store where you'll find the best scents that French brands have to offer. Be warned that these aren't going to be cheap. You can easily pay over $100 for a bottle of something amazing. We don't typically spend a lot of time here unless we know we're in the market for a new perfume or cologne.

La Signature

guerlain

Moving into more fragrances, La Signature is where you can find makeup and fragrances from the famous French brand Guerlain. This is another store that is not cheap so keep that in mind as you may prefer to window shop!

Les Vins de France

Les Vins de France is a small boutique that sells home decor items as well as wines and champagnes to go. It has great variety and we love to grab a glass of something here as we peruse the various shops.

L'Esprit de la Provence

France is known for its artisanal soaps and here is where you can find one to take home! It also carries houseware items to decorate your kitchen.

Souvenirs de France

The last shop on this list is Souvenirs de France. Here, you can find all things Disney that are French-themed. You can even find items here that you'd find in Disneyland Paris! We love this store because the gifts here are some of the best Disney ones if you're looking to have something that represents the pavilion well.

Attractions and Entertainment

Remy's Ratatouille Adventure

Epcot World Showcase - remy

As one of the newest rides in EPCOT, this attraction is still bringing in lots of crowds so you'll want to plan accordingly. You'll find a copy of this ride in Disneyland Paris so you get to experience something from there without having to travel! It's a lot of fun and the kids will enjoy it. It's located behind the pavilion so don't worry if you don't see it at first. Simply walk to the right and follow the path to the expanded area behind the original pavilion.

Beauty and the Beast Sing-Along

Since we're here, why not sing along to your favorite songs from Beauty and the Beast. After all, this is France! At the Beauty and the Beast Sing-Along, you can sing your heart out to the music from the movies. It's a lot of fun and always an easy stop after a long day of walking!

Impressions de France

Similar to other pavilions, France also has a movie that showcases the beauty of the country, its people, and its cuisine. Here, it is called Impressions de France. These movies are very outdated, but they are nostalgic and do honor the rich legacy of each country.

Meet Belle and Aurora in France

In the France pavilion, you get not one, but two opportunities to meet a princess! Located in the front of the pavilion, you can meet Belle and Aurora from Beauty and the Beast and Sleeping Beauty. These are popular stops so make sure you check the daily guide and plan accordingly!

Pro Tip: Many people forget about the back entrance to EPCOT. The International Gateway is a great entry point as it usually only has guests staying at the nearby resorts. Our tip is to enter here in the morning so you can do a walk onto Remy's and not have to pay for that individual lightning lane! It's a perfect way to start the day and you can be in and out within 30 minutes and ready to explore other parts of the park.

EPCOT Countries: United Kingdom

United Kingdom

After a short skip over the channel, we end up in the United Kingdom pavilion! This is a beautiful and quaint area of the EPCOT countries with tons of flowers and cute courtyards. It's very proper and you might even catch a glimpse of Ms. Poppins herself!

Dining

Yorkshire County Fish Shop

Yorkshire fish chips

The first dining spot you'll run into is the Yorkshire County Fish Shop. Add this quick-service stand to your list if you love fish and chips! It's a quintessential English meal and here it's really good! Portions are generous so you may end up sharing with someone.

Rose & Crown Dining Room

The Rose & Crown Dining Room is the main restaurant located along the waters of the lagoon. You'll find classic British bites as well as drinks to go with them. This restaurant is not known for having amazing food, but it's still a cool place to check out!

Rose & Crown Pub

rose crown pub

If you're not looking to sit down and dine, then simply head into the Rose & Crown Pub area and grab a drink to go! This pub is cool looking and feels like an authentic British pub. With all of the dark wood everywhere, you'll feel like you're across the pond!

UK Beer Cart

And if you're really in a hurry, stop by the UK Beer Cart where you can grab brews and cocktails to go! This is a small cart, so nothing fancy, but serves up some delicious and unique cocktails that you may want to check out!

Shopping

The Tea Caddy

The UK pavilion does not disappoint when it comes to shopping! Up first, we have The Tea Caddy. What's more British than tea after all! Here you can find lots of different teas that make for a great souvenir or for afternoons back home.

The Queen's Table

The Queen's Table is where you'll find fancy houseware items for your home. You'll find china, cutlery, and serving ware that'll carry the colors and feel of this beautiful pavilion.

Lords and Ladies

Lords and Ladies is the UK answer to the fragrances you found in France. Here, you'll find lots of fragrances for men and women as well as soaps and other fine self-care products. The store always smells delicious so make sure you swing by even for a quick sniff!

The Toy Soldier

Don't let the name fool you. While The Toy Soldier does sell toys, it also has many other gifts for both kids and adults. You'll find apparel, souvenirs, and other unique finds.

The Crown & Crest

Come to The Crown & Crest to see your family's royal crest! Inside you'll find a directory of last names that will show you any existing crests that belong to your family name. Talk about feeling like a royal! You'll even be able to buy gifts that have that crest on them.

Attractions and Entertainment

Meet Alice in the United Kingdom

In the UK pavilion, you can meet Alice straight from Wonderland! Set beside the beautiful rose garden, you can come and meet your favorite adventurous traveler and ask her about her journey into the rabbit hole!

Command Performance

Command Performance is a group that performs in the gazebo located inside the rose garden. It's a really nice courtyard that really takes you away from the hustle and bustle of the park. Grab a bench, some tea, and enjoy the performance! Check your daily guide for showtimes.

Pro Tip: If you want a great seat for the nighttime spectacular, then don't forget that Rose & Crown is another location for the dining package. These sell out very quickly, so you'll want to be sure you check for that reservation as soon as your window opens!

EPCOT Countries: Canada

Canada Disney World

Well, friends, we made it around the world and now come to the final pavilion in the World Showcase. Canada is a grand finale with lots to appreciate, including a castle recreation built on a mountain! We love this pavilion for its nature theme, as well as for how intricate the design is. Let's check it out!

Dining

Le Cellier Steakhouse

 le cellier steakhouse

If you're a fan of steak, you'll want to add Le Cellier to your list. This restaurant has great meats and steaks that you will not be able to resist. Plus, the restaurant itself is really cool and is located in a cave-type environment. Reservations strongly recommended.

Popcorn in Canada

This popcorn stand will have your classic popcorn flavors, but sometimes they'll surprise you and have some gourmet options, too! Add this to your list if you're a fan of popcorn or simply want a walking treat to go.

Shopping

Northwest Mercantile

Canada only has one shop, but it does have a lot of variety and cool gifts. The Northwest Mercantile is your stop for beanies, scarves, and anything maple related!

Attractions and Entertainment

Entertainment at Canada Mill Stage

 canada mill

This Canadian stage always has great shows and things to see. Sometimes you'll find folk bands and other times you may even find lumberjack men competing to be the best lumberjack! It's a lot of fun to see so be sure to check your daily guide for showtimes.

Canada Far and Wide in Circle-Vision 360

canada 360

Canada doesn't get left behind! This pavilion also has their own version of a movie that showcases the beauty of Canada. Here, like in China, it's in a 360 theater so that means there's no bad seat in the house!

Pro Tip: Canada has some really picturesque photo opportunities. We suggest looking out for the Kodak signs around the pavilion to grab some great photos with some beautiful nature scenery in the background!

EPCOT Countries: FAQ's

What are the 11 EPCOT countries?

Depending on where you start, the order may either begin in Mexico or Canada. We always start with Mexico, so the order is Mexico, Norway, China, Germany, Italy, the United States, Japan, Morocco, France, the United Kingdom, and Canada.

How long does it take to do EPCOT World Showcase?

This is hard to answer, but we generally say that you can spend at least half a day working through all of the pavilions. We recommend at least 5 hours to see and do all that the pavilions have to offer.

How big is the World Showcase at EPCOT?

The loop around the entire World Showcase Lagoon of EPCOT countries is 1.2 miles.

Can you ride Ratatouille before World Showcase opens?

Sometimes. Often, cast members will let guests in a bit early with access to the ride. Remember, if you're a deluxe resort guest you'll often get early entry into the parks. Be sure to enter the park, however, through the International Gateway!
