There is currently a new 2024 Spring Walt Disney World discount that provides up to 30% off rooms for guests if they book BEFORE December 15th, 2023. This offer is also available to Disney Visa Cardmembers and Annual Passholders for up to 35% off resort stays.

Book by December 15th, 2023 for the most savings on these dates:

  • Save up to 25% for stays most Sunday to Thursday nights from January 9, 2024, through February 22, 2024
  • Save up to 30% for stays from February 25, 2024, through March 24, 2024.
You can read our full ranking of all the 2024 Spring Walt Disney World discounts and see how they compare to the other popular discount offer, the Disne Dining Promo Card offer.

Walt Disney World 2023-2024 Dining Card OfferBest and Worst Disney discounts

There was a lot of buzz surrounding the Walt Disney World dining card offer when it was first introduced in January 2023. It appears this discount has remained popular as Walt Disney World has extended this offer to early 2024. You can read more about all the current Walt Disney World discounts in our guide.

While it may sound similar to the previous free dining promotion offered before the COVID-19 pandemic this dining card offer is not the same thing as the dining plan. This dining card offer includes a preloaded gift card (but to be used for dining only) for a set amount per room, per night depending on your hotel. Deluxe resorts will get the highest gift card while value resorts will get the lowest.

The new 2023-2023 Disney Dining card promotion includes these days:

  • Most nights October 27 to November 1, 2023
  • Most nights November 25 to November 29, 2023
  • Most nights December 9 to December 25, 2023
  • Most Sunday to Tuesday nights January 9 to March 5, 2024

Let’s go ahead and compare this offer to the usual 25% percent off per night offer for Disney World vacation packages. As usual, deluxe hotel stays will always receive the highest tier of 25% off per night with value resorts offering up to 15% off per night. These two discount offers run nearly consecutively alongside each other so it’s a good rule of thumb to compare your dates with these two offers and see which one comes out on top. You cannot combine offers and can only pick one. There is also a Disney+ Subscriber offer for 2023 Christmas bookings along with a Disney Visa Cardmember discount offer for 2024 Spring dates. So if you fit those two categories, then you can save up to 35% on your stay.

The dining card offer means you are taking that dining card instead of a percentage off your room per night. This is why it is essential to always compare any offers running at the same time. In some cases, they may come out even which in that case guests should select the regular room discount so they have more freedom with your dining plans. However, if the dining card comes out with the most savings and you plan on eating on-site, then that should be the logical choice.

Best Worst Disney World discounts

The dining card offer may came out on top in most of the calculations when comparing discounts unless guests select preferred view rooms, club level, etc. But this is only a bonus if you plan on eating on-site at Walt Disney World frequently. Some guests prefer to order groceries at their hotel and not spend as much of their money on meals inside the parks. Since the dining card can only be used on meals (it’s not a regular Disney gift card) that limits what you can use it for at the parks.

Which Walt Disney World discount is best?

For most families, the dining card offer will be the best deal if you plan on eating most of your meals on-site. For families that don’t eat in the parks as often then you’re better off picking any of the available discount per night offer so you have more flexibility with your money and aren’t committed to a Disney dining card.

BEST Walt Disney World Christmas Discounts

Walt Disney World has released the BEST discounts we have seen offered for the parks since 2019. These heavily discounted rates are for the popular season at Walt Disney World which includes Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party, the International Festival of the Holidays, and the NEW Disney Jollywood Nights at Hollywood Studios.

The discounts released include multiple offers for vacation packages for a variety of guests:

  • Disney+ Subscriber- save up to 35%
  • All guests- save up to 30%
  • Annual Passholder- save up to 40%
  • Florida Resident- save up to 35%

You can read the full breakdown of all these holiday discounts in our guide to tracking Walt Disney World 2023 discounts.

As you can see, the best discounts are for Annual Passholders and Florida residents which is pretty typical. If you fall into those categories then this is the best deal you can get to enjoy a hotel stay at Walt Disney World.

For everyone else, that leaves the Disney+ Subscriber discount and the vacation package offer for all guests. The Disney+ Subscriber offer is impressive with up to a 30% discount from October 2nd-November 18th (this means you can book this one for the Halloween Time season too!) and up to 35% off December 10th-December 25th.

As always with Walt Disney World discounts, the more you spend, the more you can save and you will find the deluxe Walt Disney World hotels to fall in the higher 35% off savings category. But this offer is fairly impressive as all the value resorts still fall in a 25% off category for the latter part of the discount offer in December. This means you can get a value hotel, like All-Star Movies, for around $175 per night! That’s a great savings during one of the most popular times of the year! And since most of the All-Star resorts have received room refurbishments, this is not a bad option at all.

Many folks might be wondering why Walt Disney World releasing such large discounts for such a busy time of year.

Well, that period of “revenge travel” the world experienced after COVID has definitely started to wan, especially with the impacts of inflation and rising costs for so many Americans. With a predicted recession upon the country, many families are not opting to spend on luxury experiences like travel. To help with this hurdle, Walt Disney World is going to release more discounts to entice guests to come to the parks and this does make a trip much more affordable for middle-class families.

While international travel has begun to bounce back after COVID, it is still not at the same high level as Walt Disney World enjoyed prior to the pandemic. Since international guests make up a chunk of their visitor demographic, this will also impact the number of visitors. Fewer guests planning trips will always give Walt Disney World an incentive to release more discounts.

If you are not a Disney+ subscriber, you can still book a great discount offer with an offer of up to 30% off your vacation package. But since Disney+ is so accessible to subscribe to, I would recommend just signing up to get your vacation package booked! You will save more than you will spend when signing up for Disney+ for this offer. And Walt Disney World is hoping you do just this! This increases their Disney+ subscribers and Disney hopes many of these new subscribers will stick around even past redeeming this discount offer to bolster their streaming service.

If you have your heart set on a specific room trip (personally, I am going to use this offer to try out those Princess Tiana-themed rooms at Port Orleans-Riverside resort!) then you should book as soon as possible. There is a limited amount of rooms available for these offers and popular room types will sell out first. You will likely see most standard rooms sell out first as these are the cheapest but also themed rooms or rooms that change your hotel experience- like the difference in a Coronado Springs room in the new Gran Destino Tower vs an outside room.

Walt Disney World 2023 “Magic Ticket” Offerbest Disney World discounts

Disney announced a new summer/fall discount offer for a 4-Park Magic Ticket valid from June 1st through September 29th, 2023. The 4-Park Magic Ticket includes:

  • a 4-day ticket for $99 per day plus tax ($396 total plus tax)
  • Admission to 4 Walt Disney World theme parks for one park per day on 4 separate days
  • No theme park reservation required

These tickets go on sale on May 23, 2023, and include blockout dates of July 1st-4th and September 1st-4th. Tickets experience 7 days after their first use or on September 29, 2023.

There is also a similar Florida resident Magic Ticket option which offers a far larger discount of $229 for a 4-day ticket or $209 for a 3-day ticket.

This is a great value for Florida residents. For non-Florida residents, this ticket offer is still a great deal. One of the appealing pieces of this ticket offer is the ability to forgo theme park reservations which allow for more flexibility during your visit. These are for 1-park per day tickets though so you are giving up the ability to park hop for this lower price. This ticket deal is a great choice for shorter Walt Disney World vacation trips especially for guests that might be utilizing an off-site Disney World hotel rather than an official Walt Disney World resort.

Another important caveat for this offer is found in the fine print: tickets may not be used to enter the same theme park more than once. Since you cannot park hop with this ticket nor enter the same theme park more than once, you effectively are committing to spend one day at each theme park. This might be a fine choice for some guests but if you would rather spend more time at Magic Kingdom and skip Animal Kingdom (although I can never understand why, I love Animal Kingdom!) then you do not have this option.

These tickets lock you into a pretty set rule: four days at each individual theme park of Magic Kingdom, Hollywood Studios, EPCOT, and Animal Kingdom. No park hopping and no repeat visits to the other parks. So while the flexibility of not needing a park reservation is offered as an incentive, it’s not a great one for this loss of flexibility. You can often find a Walt Disney World theme park reservation without much hassle if you book in advance. This ticket option would be a great one for guests planning a last-minute trip and wanting to spread their time evenly across the four theme parks. If you’re doing a budget trip and staying at an off-site hotel, this would also make this discount option a good choice.

If you plan on staying at a Walt Disney World resort hotel, you cannot bundle this ticket offer with the savings offered for vacation packages. In this case, this would make this discount one of the worst options to pick if you are planning on the full Disney vacation package.

It is curious to see Walt Disney World release a ticket offer like this and many are speculating we might be seeing a slow down in travel for the 2023 summer at the theme parks. This could be welcome news for those planning a trip this summer. Disney often releases discounts if they anticipate a slowdown to try and entice more guests to visit.

Walt Disney World 2023 Summer/Fall Package Discounts

disney world discounts

The seasonal summer discount released for 2023 offers a variety of discount offers for all guests plus slightly varying rates for Disney Visa cardmembers. Annual passholders are also typically included in these offers as well and usually have the highest rate of savings. You can expect to see summer seasonal discounts beginning mid-May and running through September. Summer is actually becoming a slower time of the year at Walt Disney World as the popularity of the Halloween and Holiday seasons continue to increase at the resort. This is one of the best times of the year to visit from a discounted perspective.

This specific hotel package discount offer is targeted from summer to early fall. Each set of discount packages is released for certain dates (notice how the one beginning in April ends the day before the second one begins) because only so many rooms are allocated for each offer. This is why you need to book as soon as possible in case rooms for the discount offers run out. If that happens, you’ll be paying the rack rate.

  • Save up to 25% on stays most nights April 10 through July 10, 2023
  • Save up to 25% on stays most nights July 11 to August 20, and September 15 to September 28, 2023
  • Save up to 30% on stays most nights August 21 to September 14, 2023

The greater discounts available are from late August to early September. This tracks with historic Walt Disney World discounts as you will often see some of the best Disney World discounts this time of the year as it’s been historically a slow period for the Florida theme parks.

This is generally the best savings you will get, even in comparison to the “Magic Ticket” offer releasing this summer as well. For guests looking to spend a longer vacation at Walt Disney World and want flexibility with their ticket options, the percentage off per night is always going to be the best fit.

This offer excludes the following room types: 3-bedroom villas, Bungalows at Disney’s Polynesian Villas and Bungalows, and Cabins at Copper Creek Villas & Cabins at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge. This is an important fine print to be aware of if you are planning on booking one of these room types. A good way to save money on rooms in this category is to rent Disney Vacation Club points which is an effective way of saving money on those higher-tier rooms even if you’re not a DVC member.

Disney Visa Cardmember 2023 Summer/Fall Package Rate

Disney Visa cardmembers can also take advantage of the same offer but with a higher-rated discount available of up to 35% per night. This offer is always available to credit card AND debit card holders. If you want to become a Disney Visa card member to take advantage of sales like this, all you need to do is open a checking account with Chase. It’s a fairly simple process to get a Disney debit card! And it’s worth it in some cases as you can save more on these seasonal discounts when they release plus cardmembers usually get to book before the general public.

This offer is valid during these select dates which varies a bit from the summer offer for all guests:

  • May 14 to June 24, 2023
  • July 5 to August 19, 2023
  • August 27 to September 7, 2023

Walt Disney World Resort Hotels Discount RankingBest Worst Disney World discounts pop century

Regardless of the seasonal discount, the Walt Disney World hotels fall into pretty set categories in terms of how much of a percentage you will save per night. Sometimes you will see a few resorts moved around a bit between the higher and lower tiers to motivate bookings. Occasionally these can be the best Disney World discounts.

Highest Discount Per Night

The more you spend, the more you save per night. That’s the usual philosophy behind all the percentage per night discount offerings at Walt Disney World. Most of the deluxe hotels at Walt Disney World will fall into the higher tier of discount per night. These hotels typically include:

  • Boulder Ridge Villas at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge
  • Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge
  • Disney’s Animal Kingdom Villas – Kidani Village
  • Disney’s BoardWalk Inn
  • Disney’s BoardWalk Villas
  • Disney’s Contemporary Resort
  • Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort
  • Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa
  • Disney’s Old Key West Resort
  • Disney’s Port Orleans Resort – Riverside
  • Disney’s Riviera Resort
  • Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa
  • Disney’s Wilderness Lodge

Mid-Range Discount Per Night

Most of the moderate resorts at Walt Disney World will fall in this midrange section of discounts per night. The Port Orleans Resort may switch which resort gets the higher discount (French Quarter or Riverside) from time to time. The family suites at Art of Animation resort are typically always included in this tier while the standard Little Mermaid rooms will fall lower on the list.

  • The Cabins at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort
  • Disney’s Art of Animation Resort – Family Suites
  • Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort
  • Disney’s Disney’s Port Orleans Resort – French Quarter & Riverside

Lower Range Discount Per Night

It is typical to see all the value resorts, with the exception of the Art of Animation family suites, will fall on the lower end of the discount per night spectrum. Again, keeping with the trend of these seasonal discounts the more you spend, the more you save. But if you are looking for strictly the cheapest Walt Disney World stay possible, these choices will be the best bet. With the deluxe resort, even a percentage off on a large pile of money… is still a large pile of money!

Aside from the value resorts, you will typically see Beach Club and Yacht Club resort fall in this category of lower priced options too. This is mostly due to the large popularity of these deluxe resorts. Disney will often release discounts to offer incentives for guests to book. Since these two deluxe resorts are so popular there isn’t usually much incentive needed! The Beach Club is especially popular and often the first resort type to sell out for discount offers.

The Campsites at Disney’s Fort Wilderness will vary with discounts, sometimes they will be included in the lower tier and sometimes they may be excluded entirely depending on the season.

  • Disney’s All-Star Movies Resort
  • Disney’s All-Star Music Resort
  • Disney’s All-Star Sports Resort
  • Disney’s Art of Animation Resort – Standard Rooms
  • Disney’s Beach Club Resort
  • Disney’s Pop Century Resort
  • Disney’s Yacht Club Resort
  • The Campsites at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort

Smallest Discount Per Night

Without fail, the below resorts are the ones that rarely offer a large Disney World discount and fall on the smallest percentage per night. These are all popular resorts or villas which typically don’t offer large discounts. If you want to look for the best discounts for villas at Walt Disney World, renting Disney Vacation Club points is a better way than using one of the Walt Disney World offers.

  • Bay Lake Tower at Disney’s Contemporary Resort
  • Copper Creek Villas & Cabins at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge
  • Disney’s Animal Kingdom Villas – Jambo House
  • Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort
  • Disney’s Polynesian Villas & Bungalows
  • The Villas at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa

Commonly Excluded Room Types

Most Disney World discount hotel offers exclude the following room types: 3-bedroom villas, Bungalows at Disney’s Polynesian Villas and Bungalows, and Cabins at Copper Creek Villas & Cabins at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge.

Sometimes you will see the Little Mermaid rooms at Art of Animation removed from discount offers. Due to their popularity, there usually isn’t much of an incentive for Disney to release discounts on these rooms. These are also the only standard sized rooms at Art of Animation while the resort of the resort only has family suites.

Disney World Annual Passholder Room Discounts

Walt Disney World frequently offers annual passholder room discounts alongside the room discounts released to the general public throughout the year. These are often great deals for annual passholders to take advantage of and offer the highest percentages off per night.

Usually, the annual passholder room rates will have a maximum of 35% off per stay. This discount may drop a bit during the more popular times of the year like spring break, Halloween, and the holidays which tend to draw larger crowds to the resort.

Florida Resident Room Package Discounts

Florida residents may see offers throughout the year like percentage off stays and Walt Disney World tickets whether separately or bundled together.

You’ll need to provide proof of a Florida residential address in order to purchase a Florida Resident park ticket or annual pass. Verification includes:

  • Valid Florida driver’s license (must have a Florida address)
  • Valid Florida state-issued ID card (must have a Florida address)
  • Valid Florida-based military ID

You can do this all electronically before your visit on the Walt Disney World website.

Florida residents often receive the best discounts in comparison to those offered to the general public so these discounts are highly ranked as the best Disney World discounts in this guide.

Bounceback Vacation Package Discount

The bounceback vacation package, sometimes called the PIN offer by Disney fans, are exclusively targeted offers to guests already staying at the Walt Disney World resort. The idea behind these discounts is to get guests to commit to another trip before they leave and you will need to put down $200 to book this offer.

This offer is never guaranteed and is one of the coveted offers Disney fans hope to receive as these discounts offer surpasses the regular seasonal offerings. If you are lucky enough to receive one of these, then you should not hesitate to book it!

Free Dining Plan Disney World Vacation Packages

Now that the Disney World dining plan is coming back in January 2024, the next question everyone is wondering is: when will the FREE dining return? In the “before times” this offering was usually released in the spring for travel falling roughly around September. The idea here is you pay the full rack rate for your vacation package and then you get the quick-service dining plan included for free.

The best way to weigh if this plan is a good deal is to compare what the difference in price would be if you took advantage of a seasonal discount room offer instead and what you would normally spend for food out of your own pocket.

We will update our readers as soon as possible if the free dining plan discount offer returns so make sure to sign up for our newsletter below to be informed first.
