Grocery delivery at Walt Disney World is a great way to save money by stocking items you would normally pay triple the cost for in the theme parks like bottled water, snacks, or breakfast items. Even if you are planning to splurge during your trip, keeping some items in the hotel is a great plan especially if you some back to your hotel room late and want a snack. There are a few popular options for grocery delivery at Disney World that make this process seamless and easy.

How Does Grocery Delivery Work at Disney World
Grocery delivery is really simple to use at Walt Disney World! On our first trip to Walt Disney World, I thought it would be complicated but it turns out it's extremely easy. It's great to stock your hotel room with water, drinks, snacks, breakfast items, etc. to save money and for convenience.
When you get groceries delivered at Disney World, they will be dropped off with bell services at the hotel and not brought up to the individual hotel rooms. You then have the option of paying a $6 fee (added to your hotel account) for bell services to bring them up to your room or you can go down to pick them up for free.
Walt Disney World is prepared for guests ordering groceries to their hotel and so each hotel is equipped with freezers/fridges in the bell service station.
My favorite method for ordering groceries at Disney World is to arrange for them to be delivered before we check in. This way I can just grab them from bell services on the way to the hotel room. It's very easy to have groceries delivered at Disney World since their bell service is set up to receive groceries.
Best Disney World Grocery Delivery
There are a few good options for grocery delivery at Disney World which is highly convenient if you do not plan on renting a car. While all the Walt Disney World hotels will have some basic necessities in the souvenir shops, you will pay higher than average prices for any grocery items and the selection will be limited.
If you want to stock up your hotel room with snacks or even just bottled water, this is a great way to do it. Here are the best three options for grocery delivery at Disney World.
Walmart+
My top choice for getting groceries delivered at Disney World is the Walmart+ option. Walmart consistently has the best prices and selection of items. If you do not already have a Walmart+ membership ($12 per month) they also offer a free trial plus discounts on your first grocery order. If you are looking for the most affordable way to get groceries delivered to your Disney World hotel, this is by far the best option.
Walmart+ is also a great option if you end up needing things at the last minute which has happened to us more than once! Need last-minute allergy medicine? Forgot something at home like your favorite shampoo? It's easy to get things delivered using Walmart+. There is just a $35 minimum or you pay a $6.99 delivery fee.
Since this is easily the most popular option, I recommend reserving your delivery window in advance as delivery windows will run out at the last minute. In the past, I've been able to secure a delivery time for the same day though so it's always worth checking if you do need to order a last-minute item.
Due to the affordability and large selection of items, Walmart+ is my top choice for grocery delivery at Disney World.

Buying tickets from Get Away Today is easy and convenient since all their tickets are sent electronically. You can take their vouchers and head straight to the gate without needing to wait in any ticket booth lines. They also offer layaway plans so you can pay off your vacation over time.
Instacart
Instacart is a personal shopper service and the app lets you select from participating stores in your nearby area. An Instacart shopper will go to the store and purchase your items for you. Instacart's main perk is the constant communication you have with your shopper. If an item you wanted is out of stock, they will message you directly and ask what replacement you want. This is much better than other services which often have an automated substitution system that's not always great at picking an alternative choice.
Stores that participate in Instacart near Walt Disney World include CVS, ABC Fine Wine & Spirits, Publix, and Whole Foods. For those unfamiliar with Florida's grocery stores, Publix is the main grocery store chain in Florida which makes Instacart a popular choice if you want groceries delivered at Disney World from Publix. Instacart is the best choice if you want alcohol delivered.
Instacart is going to be more expensive than Walmart+ as all the items for each store have inflated pricing which is part of the cost of using the service. So while it may seem like the $4 fee for your order is small, you are really also paying through the higher cost of the items you select. The more you buy, the more expensive it can get.
Amazon Prime Now
For Amazon Prime members you can now get groceries delivered through Amazon within two hours. For items from Whole Foods, it's a $9.95 delivery fee and for items through Amazon Fresh, there's a sliding scale of delivery fees based on the cost of the order:
- $3.95 for orders between $100-$150
- $6.95 for orders of $50 to $100
- $9.95 for orders under $50
Amazon Fresh deliveries over $150 are free. This policy changed in February 2023, previously Amazon Prime members received free grocery delivery.
Make sure when you look for this option that you option a web browser on your phone and type in the area code of your Walt Disney World hotel. Since the Amazon app is usually linked to your home address, the option might not show up otherwise.
Amazon's delivery service is my least favorite option since the selection is limited compared to Walmart+ or Instacart. But if you have dietary specifications (gluten-free, vegan, etc.) Whole Foods is often a good place for those needs for your grocery delivery at Disney World. You won't get the same wide selection for those types of items from Walmart+. But you can also use Instacart for Whole Foods as well which will likely come out to about the same in cost.
You can head to Amazon's website to read more about how Amazon Prime Now works for groceries. Due to the higher cost of Amazon plus the limited selection, this is my least favorite option for grocery delivery at Disney World.
Closest Grocery Store to Disney World
If you prefer to do your grocery shopping yourself, there are many nearby stores that sell groceries near Walt Disney World. If you rented a car, this is an easy trip but you can also use rideshare as an option. You might want to make a note for your pickup that you will have groceries so your driver is prepared.
Personally, I prefer to have my groceries delivered (I don't want to spend a second of my vacation grocery shopping!) but if you have easy access to get there then it makes sense.
Here are some of the closest grocery stores near Disney World:
- Whole Foods
- Publix
- SuperTarget
- Target at Flamingo Crossings
- TraderJoe's
There is also a Speedway gas station located near the Swan & Dolphin Hotel which works if you need to grab something simple like milk or snacks. This is actually convenient since Swan & Dolphin has now stopped grocery delivery at the hotel which is definitely a negative for that hotel. If you want groceries at Swan & Dolphin, you will need to get them yourself.
What Groceries Should I Order for Disney World?
Our Walt Disney World packing list has some items listed for groceries at Disney World you can start with. But how many groceries you need at Walt Disney World depends on how often you plan on eating at the parks and if ordering groceries is a way to budget.
My family often eats breakfast in our hotel room to save time and money. Breakfast at Walt Disney World can sometimes be the trickiest meal to find as not all food stands open and you may not want to dine at a table service restaurant in the morning.
Here are some general ideas for groceries to order for your Disney World stay:
- Multipack snacks
- Kids love these and they're easy to have on hand. You can choose from chips, cookies, graham crackers, Goldfish crackers, etc. Since they're all pre-packaged, it's easy to grab them and toss them in your park bag.
- Breakfast items
- Fruit, cereal, mini donuts, muffins, bagels, yogurt, pop tarts, etc.
- Milk (only a half gallon will fit in the fridge)
- Multipacks of cereal work great here, kids also love these!
- Breakfast bars/protein bars
- Easy Mac (any microwavable item like this will work)
- Uncrustables
- Bread
- Peanut butter/jelly/cheese/deli meat- easy sandwich fixings
- Bottled water
- Bottled drinks (Juice, Gatorade, soda, whatever your favorites are)
- Drink/Coffee mixes
- Coffee creamer (opt for the non-refrigerated version to save space)
- Plastic bowls/plates/silverware if needed
Keep in mind that the mini-fridges in the standard hotel rooms at Walt Disney World no longer have freezers so you will want to stick with refrigerated items. You will have a microwave and a coffee maker in the room stocked with Joeffrey's Coffee in all standard rooms. If you are staying in a suite or villa that has an oven then you have even more options.
Why Should I Get Groceries for Disney World?
If you are traveling with kids, having your hotel room stocked with some of their comfort foods is helpful. My son has loved Goldfish crackers ever since he was a toddler and so for every trip, I have always made sure we had them in the room. When he was small, having those on hand made traveling much easier so he could munch on them while we waited for the park transportation or were on the way to the airport.
For picky eaters or those with dietary restrictions, having snacks and small meals on hand for easy access can also be convenient. While Disney World does well with offering substitutions for dietary restrictions, some guests might feel better having access to foods they know they can eat in the hotel room. For picky eaters, it's also helpful!
If you are traveling to Disney World on a budget then the more you eat in the hotel room, the better. Food at Disney World is expensive and you'd be surprised at how quickly that cost can add up. Having snacks on hand in your park bag, eating breakfast in the hotel room, and bringing your own drink bottles to the park will all save you money. If you plan on taking an afternoon break in the park, as most families do, this is also a good time to eat and skip another meal in the park.
If you want to bring food into the park, you can only use ice packs. Guests aren't allowed to pack loose ice in coolers. The easiest way to pack food (which you are allowed to do!) is in soft-side coolers. Many guests do this to save money on costly theme park food and for those with picky eaters or dietary restrictions. My family always packed sandwiches to take in the park on our Disneyland trips when I was a kid and I don't have any memories of feeling like I missed out on anything. You're at Disney, your kids will be happy! Teenagers on the other hand might complain a bit more so make sure to grab their favorite snacks too.
And lastly, getting groceries delivered at Disney World is great for convenience. If you want to move quick in the morning and get to rope drop at the parks, then eating a quick breakfast in the hotel room is the best way to do it. Or if you come back to your hotel room at the end of a long park day and someone in your group is hungry, having food on hand is easier than running to any of the quick-service stops at the hotel. If you're taking advantage of any After Hours nights or Extended Evening Hours, you will be happy you have food in the hotel room when you come back as many locations will be closed for the night.
Ordering groceries at Disney World is a great way to save time and money. And it's easy to do!
