Walt Disney World Disney100 Celebration: Details, Tips, New Shows
This year marks the 100th anniversary of the Walt Disney Company and is being celebrated at both Disneyland and Walt Disney World. While Disneyland's Disney100 Celebration kicked off the celebration earlier this year, it has now been moved to Walt Disney World at EPCOT for the rest of 2023.

Walt Disney World Disney100 Celebration
Walt Disney World finished up their celebration of the 50th anniversary of the park in March 2023 and now the parks are celebrating the Disney100 Celebration! Walt Disney World is joining the Disneyland Disney100 Celebration with their own special shows, and more with EPCOT being the main “host” for the celebration.
EPCOT being the focus of the Disney100 celebration makes sense as in 2023 we will finally see the redesign of the previous Future World area complete along with anticipated new attractions open now like Moana Journey of Water.

- Soarin' Over California will be offered for a limited time.
- Moana's Journey of Water is now open.

NEW Walt Disney Statue 
The new Walt Disney statue “Walt the Dreamer” is located in the new World Celebration Gardens called Dreamers Point. All of these gardens will connect to the areas surrounding them including new lighting elements and natural textures.
Dreamers Point is named “not only for the dreamer that has and continues to inspire us, but also for all of us who visit EPCOT every day to celebrate the endless potential and possibility of our world.”
PhotoPass photographers are stationed at this spot throughout the day. This means there's no way to get a photo with the statue unless you wait in the line for PhotoPass. Currently, the lines are long but may improve as more time goes on.
How long is the Disney100 Celebration?
The Walt Disney World 100th Celebration will take place from September 22nd to December 31, 2023.
NEW Disney100 Marketplace Booths 
Starting September 22nd, new global marketplaces will be opening that are all inspired by the Disney100 celebration at EPCOT and filled with new food items. These marketplace booths will join the existing EPCOT International Food & Wine Festival booths and continue as part of the booths for the EPCOT International Festival of the Holidays celebration.

There will also be a new Disney 100 Purple Mickey Mouse Balloon Popcorn Bucket which can be found at popcorn carts throughout EPCOT.
EPCOT's Redesign
EPCOT's redesign of the park will officially finish in 2023. This redesign split the previous Future World of the theme park into three neighborhoods: World Celebration, World Discovery, and World Nature.
World Celebration is the area of the park that is still yet to be revealed with a brand new multi-use facility and outdoor event space being built. This outdoor space called CommuniCore Hall and CommuniCore Plaza will be an area to host musical performances and other EPCOT festivals. There will also be a brand new location in this area for a Mickey & Friends meet and greet- this might just be where we see Mickey and Minnie meeting guests in their new Disney100 outfits later this year. World Celebration is where Spaceship Earth is located and where the new Walt Disney statue will go.
The new addition to World Nature will be the new Moana Journey of Water attraction which opens on October 16. The other attractions considered part of World Nature include the entire Imagination, Land and Seas pavilion which is home to Soarin', Journey Into Imagination with Figment, Living with the Land, and The Seas with Nemo & Friends.
World Discovery is where you can find the new (and one of the best rides Disney has ever done!) Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind attraction. This area also includes Test Track and Spaceship Earth.
Since EPCOT's transformation will finally be complete this year, it makes sense that EPCOT would be the home to the Walt Disney World Disney100 Celebration!
New EPCOT Nighttime Spectacular
EPCOT Forever will run until the NEW show takes over. This brand-new nighttime spectacular is called Luminous: The Symphony of Us and will debut on December 5th, 2023.
EPCOT Forever is a celebration of Epcot's musical history and a celebration of the 40-year legacy of Epcot featuring fireworks, music, lighting, lasers, and special effects kites. Some of the music in the show comes directly from infamous attractions in Epcot like Journey Into Imagination, Spaceship Earth, and Soarin'.
Luminous: The Symphony of Us will feature fireworks, fountains, lasers, lighting effects, and new music.
Moana Journey of Water
Moana Journey of Water is NOW OPEN at EPCOT. Moana's Journey of Water is in the new World Nature Neighborhood in EPCOT close to Spaceship Earth.
Journey of Water seeks to immerse guests with interactions of water plus a 16-foot-tall Te Fiti! Read all about this new attraction and our review in our Moana's Journey of Water guide.
Soarin' Over California
Soarin' Over California has returned to EPCOT for a limited-time run. No official end date has been announced but since this is to celebrate the Disney100 Anniversary, it is likely it will switch back to Soarin' Over the World after the celebration concludes.
NEW EPCOT Spaceship Earth Show
Spaceship Earth received a brand new show in honor of the Walt Disney World Disney100 Celebration. This new show features homages to everything from the ‘Wonderful World of Disney' TV show opening to Mickey balloons. The new lighting that was installed for the 50th Walt Disney World celebration has made Spaceship Earth literally sparkle. These lighting effects are beautiful and worth seeing in person!
This nightly show will also include a unique rendition of “When You Wish Upon a Star.”
New Figment Meet and Greet
Figment has returned to EPCOT to greet guests at the Imagination pavilion.
Mickey and Minnie Disney100 Outfits
Guests can also see Mickey and Minnie in their new Disney100 platinum outfits in the Imagination! pavilion.
New 100th Disney Photo Op
There are new Disney100 backdrops at all four Disney theme parks and Disney Springs to pose with. The platinum Mickey Mouse sculpture in World Celebration will be a great photo op with Spaceship Earth in the background.
Plus the 100th Walt Disney World Celebration includes Disney100 Magic Shots and PhotoPass offerings currently available across Walt Disney World.
There is also a brand new mural in World Celebration featuring favorite Disney characters hidden throughout the various neighborhoods in EPCOT. The rest of the World Celebration area will also be covered in Disney100 platinum banners and décor.
Disney100 Cinderella Popcorn Bucket
This special Disney100 popcorn bucket will be available at Magic Kingdom later this year. Guests visiting Disneyland can currently find this popcorn bucket in the parks!
