Planet Hollywood Review
This is a popular restaurant in Disney Springs so you must have a reservation for your visit as walk ups are likely going to be a no go. You can make reservations online on the Walt Disney World dining website up to 60 days in advance. If you miss out and don't find a reservation, I recommend trying Mouse Watcher which will search relentlessly for a variety of days/times for your chosen restaurant for $5 per restaurant search. While many free services like this exist, I've found this one to be the most successful.
We had to wait for a bit after we checked in but there was plenty of space to sit inside with the air conditioning which was a welcome break. The theming of Planet Hollywood was right up my alley as my family enjoys movies and consider ourselves big movie buffs. There's artifacts everywhere to look at from the entrance of the restaurant to every floor.
There's multiple floors to be seated at but on every floor you'll have a great view of the IMAX style video wall showing music videos and 3D clips during your meal. We were seated on the fourth floor which I liked since we were at the top level to see the video screen.
The atmosphere of this restaurant is cool, they play popular songs throughout your meal and at times everyone in the restaurant would start singing along! They played the clip of Frozen's Elsa singing Let it Go and the entire restaurant (including myself!) belted it out along with her. We ate here on our arrival day and it was a great way to start off our trip inside that infamous Disney bubble.
They have a full menu with burgers, sandwiches, pizza and other appetizer options you can browse online before your visit. There's some fun milkshakes for both kids and adults along with plenty of chances to purchase souvenir cups.
These milkshakes are huge so be prepared! This was basically half my son's meal as he devoured it before his food even arrived.
My son wasn't to impressed with his pizza so he might have been better off going with an adult portion as I think kids menu items tend to be simple intentionally. But overall, it looked like basic cheese pizza that would satisfy most kids.
Okay, it's not often veggie burgers impress me (most places use Beyond or Impossible patties now which just makes them feel pretty basic) but this burger was awesome. You could tell that it was made from scratch- it was absolutely delicious. The balance of black beans and chickpeas worked out nicely so it didn't taste just like an average bean based veggie burger. I highly recommend this option and not just for vegetarians! This burger was one of the menu options created by Celebrity Chef Guy Fieri so it felt like something I needed to try regardless.
Overall, I enjoyed this restaurant so I have positive things to say for this Planet Hollywood Review. However, the prices are a bit steep even for Disney if you plan on adding speciality drinks and milkshakes. It actually cost us less to dine at many of the restaurants inside Walt Disney World so that's something to keep in mind. But we will definitely eat here again, the food was great and the atmosphere was awesome.
