Yak & Yeti Review
Yak & Yeti in Animal Kingdom is a popular spot not just due to its theming but great food with plenty of options for everyone. The menu includes a wide variety of Asian food, American options plus tons for vegetarians. Popular items include sweet-and-sour chicken, ahi tuna nachos, pork pot stickers and Kobe beef burgers. There's also plenty of unique alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages like chilled sake, Asian beers, and an assortment of hot teas. Unique alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages include cocktails, chilled sake, Asian beers, wine and an assortment of hot teas. You can read through the entire menu on the Yak & Yeti restaurant page on Disney's website.
If you're a Landry's Select Club member usually you can arrive at any Landry's owned restaurant and receive priority seating without a reservation. It costs $25 to join and that $25 is loaded right back on your card to spend at the restaurant. The Landry's locations in the Disney World area are the Yak & Yeti and Rainforest Café in Animal Kingdom and T-Rex in Disney Springs. Lately, it's been hard to get a reservation walking up but you can also call the restaurant directly to ask for a reservation if you end up not getting one via the Disney website. Just mention you're a Landry's member and they should set you up with a time as long as its least 24 hours in advance.
Now let's get to the good stuff, keep reading for my full Yak & Yeti review!
We didn't have to wait long for our table when we arrived and were seated right away. This efficiency is always welcome when you're tired, hot and hungry! The interior of the restaurant is full of things to admire as you walk in.
The theme of the restaurant fits perfectly in Animal Kingdom's Asia, we loved it.
The food was fantastic especially for vegetarians! I was thrilled to eat somewhere with so many options aside from the usual mac and cheese.
I had the vegetable lo mein which was delicious. For an additional $5 more you can add tofu if you like. The flexibility to customize dishes at a restaurant like this are plentiful which is a pro for many folks. As far as vegetarian dishes go, this is one of the best I had during our trip.
My son, normally a picky eater, loved his food especially the sweet potato fries. I had a few of the sweet potato fries myself and I agree, they were pretty good! I appreciate how they dress up the Beyond burger to fit the culture of the restaurant so it's not too much of a ‘boring' American option. But if that's what you want, no judgement here, then you can ask for them to customize it.
Overall, I would highly recommend the Yak & Yeti! The menu is diverse enough to please everyone's tastes from those looking for classic American food to those looking to explore the Asian options offered. The theming is excellent and one of the best inside Animal Kingdom that feels authentic to the park's history.
