San Diego Zoo Admission Prices

There are a multitude of ticket packages to choose from for both parks.  Both at-gate and looking outside the park at wholesale stores and a few travel companies, potential visitors can find some great deals.

San Diego Zoo At-Gate Prices

San Diego Zoo's at-gate costs for 1-day passes include admission, a guided bus tour, Kangaroo Express Bus, Skyfari Aerial Tram, and all regularly scheduled performances.  Adults (ages 12 and up) cost $71, and children (ages 3-11) are $61. Kids under three are free. For an additional six-dollars per ticket, guests can also experience one of the 4-D theater experiences.

San Diego Zoo Safari Park At-Gate Prices

The at-gate ticket sales for one-day passes at the Zoo Safari Park include admission, the Africa Tram, Cheetah Run, and all regularly scheduled shows.  Adults (ages 12 and up) cost $71, and children (ages 3-11) are $61. Kids under three are free.

San Diego Zoo Safari Park Package Options

At the Zoo Safari Park, there are several safari packages guests can add onto their admission ticket.

• $53 for the Cart Safari and Jungle Ropes Safari
• $57 for the Cheetah Safari
• $77 for the Flightline Safari
• $87 for the Behind-the-Scenes Safari
• $121 for the Caravan Safari
• $145 for the Roar and Snore Overnight
• $675 for the customized Ultimate Safari.

Again, safaris do not include admission prices.

All tickets are now being sent electronically which means guests will take either their phone or printed confirmation straight to the gate. There will be no need to go to a ticket booth to pick-up will call tickets and no way to leave physical tickets at home. Book your tickets at least two days before your arrival to ensure that they are processed in time for the first day of your vacation.

Get Away Today also offers layaway plans with an additional fee of $99 that allows guests to make as many payments as you would like on your vacation up to five days before the departure date. The first payment requires a minimum payment of $175, including the layaway plan fee, guests can then decide how many payments they’d like to make. The vacation is held until the final payment is made which makes this a great option for families to be able to plan and save for their vacation.

San Diego Zoo Multi-Day Passes

Both San Diego Zoo and San Diego Zoo Safari Park offer discounts between the two parks or with memberships.

2-Day Pass

The 2-day pass INCLUDES- one visit to San Diego Zoo AND San Diego Zoo Safari Park, or two days at the same park of your choice. Prices are $118 for adults and $108 for children. You can read more about the 2-day pass on the San Diego Zoo website.

San Diego 3-for-1 Pass

San Diego 3-for-1 pass INCLUDES- one visit each to Sand Diego Zoo, San Diego Zoo Safari park, and SeaWorld San Diego.  The pass is valid for seven consecutive days upon purchase and cost $173 for adults and $163 for children. Go San Diego Card

The Go San Diego Card is a 3-day pass that includes admission to the San Diego Zoo, San Diego Zoo Safari Park, LEGOLAND®, SeaWorld San Diego, and 35 other attractions. Guests must visit all attractions desired to within three days of first use of the pass and costs $207 for adults and $189 for children. You can purchase the 3-day pass on the San Diego Zoo website.

Costco online offers 2-day passes occasionally for a deal.

Annual Passes

Annual Pass

Includes a full year of free, unlimited admission to BOTH the San Diego Zoo and San Diego Safari park, the Skyfari Tram, and the Africa Tram and is only valid in zip codes 91900-92899.

• The adult annual ticket base starts at $112 for one person and $185 for two adults in the same household. The San Diego Zoo Kids club level price is $58 per year for kids ages 3-17.

The annual pass also includes several savings options including two- 50% off Super Admission coupons.

Keepers Club 

The most popular membership level is the Keepers Club which includes the above mentioned PLUS free parking, guest passes, and discounts on food and merchandise.

• The price of $254 is the same for either one adult or two adults in the same household. Valid only in zip codes 91900-92899.

San Diego Zoo Parking Fees

The San Diego Zoo actually offers free parking!  The front parking lot can accommodate a larger number of vehicles and the overflow parking throughout Balboa park is at no cost as well. San Diego Zoo Safari Park charges visitors $15 for vehicles and $20 for RVs. Preferred parking (weekends and holidays only) is $33 per vehicle.

Outside San Diego Zoo/Safari Ticket Discounts

Like most theme parks across Southern California, both San Diego Zoo and San Diego Zoo Safari Park offer smaller discounts for a variety of guests.

Military Ticket Discounts

Current, active military personnel are admitted free (one-day pass) upon presenting valid military ID.  Spouses and dependents receive 10% off the one-day admission fee with valid dependent ID card.  Military personnel need not be present for spouse and dependents to utilize the discount.  Retirees and military veterans may check with local military bases for discount packages.

Student/Senior Ticket Discounts

Both students 12 and older, and seniors ages 65 and up, receive a 10% discount on one-day admission passes.  Each guest must show valid ID in order to receive the discount.

AAA Ticket Ticket Discounts

Current AAA card holders will receive the 10% discount on the one-day adult pass price.  This is valid for up to six people in a group.

Travel Agents/Airline/Cruise Line Employee Ticket Discounts

The San Diego Zoo and San Diego Zoo Safari Park recognizes those in the travel industry by also providing a slight discount on the one-day admission ticket.  With valid ID, travel agents, airline, and cruise line personnel and one accompanying guest will receive the 10% discount.

Kids Free October Ticket Discounts

Each year, San Diego attractions offer a KIDS FREE everything for the month of October.  For the San Diego Zoo parks, this option is unlimited between October 1st and October 31st for kids ages 3-11.
