The Must-See Nighttime Lighting of Disney World’s Newest Attraction

We have seen large seen many major milestones for Tiana's Bayou Adventure as the summer 2024 Disney World opening quickly approaches. Tiana's Bayou Adventure is the reimagining of the previous Splash Mountain attraction inspired by the Disney film The Princess and the Frog. The attraction is also headed to Disneyland so this is a nice preview of what it will look look in California.

The most exciting news we've seen for the attraction so far was the reveal of the incredible Audio-Animatronics figures, which are the most innovative yet from Walt Disney Imagineering. These audio-animatronics look fantastic and it is clear to see that this reimagining of Splash Mountain is being done with care and dedication from Disney.

I've been very closely following every update on Tiana's Bayou Adventure on-site at Magic Kingdom Park, and most recently, a preview of the bayou transforming from day to night — and the glow is incredible! Keep scrolling to see our NEW updated pictures of the attraction at night.

The Sunset Over the Bayou

A look at the tiara-topped Tiana's Foods water tower at Tiana's Bayou Adventure as the sun goes down in the background.

The tiara-topped Tiana's Foods water tower at Tiana's Bayou Adventure serves as the new centerpiece of the exterior of the attraction, and this photo I got on one of my recent visits to Magic Kingdom Park is one of my favorites.

The sun sets behind the bayou and now salt dome every night, and not only is a gorgeous view in the park, but also allows for some incredible photos.

Tiana's Bayou Adventure looks gorgeous during the day with the exterior transformation just about complete, yet a recent milestone of the nighttime lighting testing truly does bring the bayou to life in a whole new way — let's take a closer look!

Tiana's Bayou Adventure Nighttime Lighting Overview

This photo above is the best look at how gorgeous the nighttime lighting is for Tiana's Bayou Adventure, and after seeing it in-person, the photos don't do it justice!

The pond in the very front of the attraction features tons of flora native to Louisiana, from Bald Cypress trees, water lilies, and Cattails — and the water lilies glow, too!

The Bald Cypress trees flicker with the mix of blue and purple lights from in the water, and the trees are even complete with fireflies that are unfortunately very hard to get a photo of.

From further back back in Frontierland, you can get an even better view of the entire salt dome and Tiana's Foods water tower.

The vibrant orange illuminating the water tower truly makes it stand out in photos and in-person, and separates it from the rest of the exterior.

It's important to note that all of the nighttime lighting at Tiana's Bayou Adventure should be considered a test until the attraction opens this summer.

Tiana's Bayou Adventure Nighttime Lighting in Frontierland

The new lanterns around the splashdown area at Tiana's Bayou Adventure at Magic Kingdom Park.

Tiana's Bayou Adventure is a part of Frontierland at Walt Disney World, and the drastic transformation of the attraction definitely is a major change for the park, yet the sections of Frontierland it's connected to have also seen many changes.

Recently, new lanterns were installed around the splashdown area after the 50-foot drop, which is the first time this area has had lighting since Splash Mountain closed 15 months ago.

The new lanterns look great, adding the perfect amount of light to the area without being too bright. Due to the photos being taken in a nighttime environment, they look brighter than how they are in-person.

The main major change to Frontierland for Tiana's Bayou Adventure is the transformation of where the entrance was for Splash Mountain.

The new entrance for Tiana's Bayou Adventure will be under the Frontierland train station, whereas the old entrance for Splash Mountain is now occupied by lighting, plants, and trees.

The new lighting in Frontierland also looks great in-person, and is the perfect blend of new with also keeping the vibe of Frontierland alive.

While the queue for Tiana's Bayou Adventure will feel like a true New Orleans courtyard, this area outside the future entrance for the attraction serves as the transition for our journey into the bayou.
