Disney H20 Glow Event DetailsH20 Glow Disney World

H20 Glow Nights take place each summer at Typhoon Lagoon after the water park closes for the day. The event takes place from 8PM to 11PM but guests with a party ticket can enter Typhoon Lagoon as early as 6PM to enjoy the water park before the party begins.

DJ Dance Party

One of the highlights of the event includes a DJ dance party that takes place on the beach in front of the surf pool. The DJ will play a variety of classic 80s to current popular songs. And of course, popular Disney songs!

H20 Glow Disney Characters

Each event includes a variety of Disney characters. You will see many come out on stage during the DJ dance party like Goofy, Chip ‘n’ Dale, Captain Hook, and Mr. Smee. They do not have a specific schedule and will appear sporadically throughout the event. Sometimes the characters will come out and dance in the crowd or they will stay up on the stage.

There are no official meet-and-greets at the event and the dance party is the main way to interact with the characters.

Attractions Open H20 Glow Nights

H20 Glow Nights After Hours will have all the attractions at Typhoon Lagoon open including these favorites:

  • Bay Slides
  • Castaway Creek
  • Crush ‘n’ Gusher
  • Gangplank Falls
  • Humunga Kowabunga
  • Mayday Falls
  • Miss Adventure Falls
  • Storm Slides
  • Typhoon Lagoon Surf Pool

This is a great chance to enjoy short wait times for these popular attractions including the most popular like Crush ‘n’ Gusher, Humunga Kowabunga and Miss Adventure Falls. Usually, there are no lines for any of the water attractions with the exception of Crush ‘n’ Gusher.

Disney H20 Glow Nights Food

Disney’s H20 Glow Nights offers all you can enjoy ice-cream, popcorn, and fountain drinks which are all included in the price of your event ticket. This is standard for most Disney After Hours events.

The complimentary food will be brought out once the park closes to the daytime guests around 7PM. There will be glowing inflatables throughout the park so you can easily spot where to get the ice cream and popcorn. All the fountain beverages are accessible at any of the self-serve soda machines.

There are also plenty of glowing specialty items available for purchase like specialty ice cream along with main food dishes so you do not have to rely on just ice cream and popcorn.

H20 Glow After Hours Dress CodeH20 Glow Disney

H20 Glow Nights is a family-friendly event although it is popular among adults and locals. The same dress code for all the Walt Disney World water parks applies.

  • Swim attire must be appropriate for a family environment.
  • Inappropriate swim attire, swim attire with buckles, rivets, zippers or exposed metal, and other sharp objects are not allowed on any of the attractions.
  • Jeans (denim) and wetsuits (neoprene) are not permitted on the following attractions: Bay Slides, Humunga Kowabunga, Ketchakiddee Creek and Storm Slides.
  • For safety, diaper-age children must wear plastic pants or swim diapers in pool areas.

Is H20 Glow Nights Worth It?H20 Glow Nights

As with most specialty events at Walt Disney World, this can be a subjective question depending on the group. If you are not interested in water parks, then the Disney World H20 Glow Nights isn’t a good fit for your family. Despite the fact that it is a Disney After Hours event, the main focus is still being at a water park.

If visiting Typhoon Lagoon is at the top of your list but you’re worried about crowds or long wait times for attractions then it can definitely be worth it. You can experience all of Typhoon Lagoon’s attractions with minimal wait times which includes one of the best water slides in Walt Disney World: the Crush ‘n’ Gusher.

When comparing the price of an H20 Glow After Hours ticket to a typical day ticket to Typhoon Lagoon you’re looking at around $10 more for a price to H20 Glow Nights. A ticket to H20 Glow After Hours will get you into the water park from 6PM to 11Pm with the actual event beginning at 8PM. Now a regular day ticket will get you access throughout the entire day Typhoon Lagoon is open and the water parks typically open around 10AM and close at 7PM. So if you compare the amount of hours, you get more with a day ticket but most guests do not spend the entire day at Typhoon Lagoon. You also need to factor in the amount of time you may sit in lines which may be longer during the daytime hours of the park as opposed to the evening when you will walk on to most attractions.

So is the value there for H20 Glow Nights? Time is money and you will save considerable time not waiting in line for popular water slides with the After Hours event. Also, add the complimentary food to the equation and this is a good value for the experience.

Some guests may also wonder about the weather for Disney World H20 Glow After Hours. The good news with those concerns is the warm, humid weather in Florida in the summer makes evening events a great option. It will be warm enough to swim and you will still have daylight until about 8PM. But for most of the evening, it will take place after the sun has gone down.

Disney H20 Glow After Hours is worth it if you want to experience the water park with low crowds and minimal waits for the attractions. The fun lit-up atmosphere and dance party are also fun for families and adults. But some families may choose to spend their money on other experiences to splurge on at Walt Disney World if water parks aren’t your first priority.
