Personal Experience with Disney World Customer Service

Star Wars Galaxy's Edge ship

As I mentioned earlier, I have contacted Disney World Customer Service for a variety of different reasons over the years. From simple questions to more complex inquiries, I can honestly say that I have always left my conversations with Disney World Customer Service completely satisfied. My questions have always been answered and my needs have always been met.

Chatting with Disney World Customer Service

For my simpler inquiries that I didn’t need an immediate answer for, I reached out to Disney World Customer Service via Chat. I have used the Chat service before to ask questions about things such as entertainment. For one of my trips, it was unclear which firework show would be taking place at Magic Kingdom so I reached out to ask. I've also used Chat when I've had inquiries about things such as policies. When Covid restrictions were put into place a couple years ago, and policies were changing frequently, I wanted to clarify information about parking charges for my upcoming trip and reached out for that information.

While my Chat conversations have always happened relatively quickly, I do prefer to call in when I have a matter that I would like addressed more rapidly.

Calling Disney World Customer Service

For my most recent trip, my party and I were staying in two separate rooms. I called in to Disney World Customer Service to make a request that our rooms be next to each other. A little later on, Disney dropped a promotion that allowed us to upgraded our resort. After we upgraded our resort, I wanted to call back and make sure that the request to have our rooms next to each other was still in the system. When I called in to check, it was found that the request had actually dropped off of our reservation during the upgrade. Luckily, the Cast Member that I was speaking to on the phone was able to add the request back on without any issues.

I’ve also called in on multiple occasions to book Enchanting Extras. While many of these can be booked online, some you can only book by calling in. It’s also nice to be able to speak with a Cast Member who can fully see the availability (which sometimes differs from what the public can see online). I've called in to book Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique, Guided Fishing Excursions, and In-Room Floral & Gifts.

Unfortunately, I’ve also called Disney World Customer Service for less appealing reasons. In 2020, I called in to cancel our Disney World vacation when talks of closures started to happen. Like always, the Cast Member was able to quickly and efficiently help me with my request.

The list could go on and on with my own personal experience with Disney World Customer Service. Like I said, no matter how big or small, my questions have always been answered and my requests have always been taken care of. I’ve personally never had an instance where I was dissatisfied with my Disney World Customer Service experience.

Can You Speak With Someone At Disney World?

Figment meet and greet EPCOT

One great thing about Disney World Customer Service is that when you speak with them, you’re speaking with an actual person! This is true even when you use the Chat service. You won’t have to deal with an endless loop of automatic responses on the Chat or pre-recorded responses that get you nowhere over the phone. You will be speaking with a Disney Cast Member the whole entire time. Generally, you’ll speak with that one Cast Member for the entirety of your conversation. Unlike other companies, it’s not common that you’ll need to be transferred multiple times to have all of your needs met.

The Disney World Cast Members in the Customer Service department are not only efficient, they're also personable. All of the Customer Service Cast Members that I’ve spoken with have gone above and beyond to make the conversation pleasant. Customer Service calls can often be boring and unpleasant, but the Cast Members in the Disney World Customer Service department make sure to bring their own magic and pixie dust into the conversation to make it a great experience.

What Is Contacting Disney World Customer Service Like?

Pooh Bear at EPCOT

Overall, contacting Disney World Customer Service is a very pleasant experience. It doesn’t take too long to get an email response back, the chat responses come quickly, and usually you don’t have to wait on hold too long to speak with someone on the phone.

On an average day, when calling in, you can expect to wait on hold for a Cast Member for about 10-15 minutes. While you’re on hold, you’ll be able to enjoy the soundtrack of rides and attractions around Walt Disney World. While it’s normally not a very long wait, it can be a long wait.

If you’re calling when a new promotion drops or tickets for a special event go on sale, it can be a very long wait. If you’re calling in for those promotions or tickets, it’s important that you don’t hang up. By staying on the line, you’re keeping your spot in line. On occasions when I’ve called and the lines were busy, they’ve given me a call-back option. If this is offered to you, your spot will be held in line and you’ll be able to hang up. When it’s your turn, they will call you! This is a nice way to avoid waiting on the phone for a long period of time.

However, if you’re calling for other reasons and there’s a long wait, if your matter doesn’t need immediate attention, I would suggest trying back later in the day or the following day. Don’t forget, you also have the option to use Chat or Email!
