One common question guests ask when planning their Walt Disney World vacation is “How much does it cost to go to Disney World?” When planning a trip to the most magical place on earth, there are several answers to this question that depend on a variety of factors, including which type of ticket you select, trip length, age (adult or child), and time of year you visit. And of course, the current Disney World ticket prices.
Evaluating current Disney World ticket prices can help guests get the most accurate idea of what price they will be paying per ticket. As for 1-day tickets, Disney World recently introduced a per-park pricing system which means that all four Walt Disney World theme parks will be priced differently rather than a flat rate regardless of what park you pick.
Our guide will cover the current ticket Disney World ticket prices for base tickets, the cost of add-ons, special event ticket prices, details for annual pass holders, ticket prices for military service members, and additional costs to consider for a day at Disney World.
This article will focus on standard Disney World ticket prices, but know that there are some great ways to access discounts on Disney World tickets available—see our discount Disney World tickets guide for more details on how to save the most money on your Walt Disney World vacation.

Why Are Disney World Tickets So Expensive?
The biggest reason for Disney World ticket prices being so expensive is high demand. Disney World has capacity limitations at the parks, so without increasing supply, raising Disney World ticket prices is Disney’s way of handling increasing consumer demand.
In addition, Disney World offers top-tier rides, food, shows, and more, and maintaining the high standard of all of these experiences comes at a cost. Taking care of their parks, Cast Members, land, transportation systems, and more than 25 resorts is an expensive ordeal. Disney World has also been expanding its offerings in recent years, with new additions like TRON: Lightcycle / Run, Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind recently added and more coming soon, like Moana's Journey of Water later this year and Tiana’s Bayou Adventure in 2024. With the value of the parks increasing due to these new attractions, ticket prices will reflect this.
Even though Disney World ticket prices can be high, they're worth the cost if you compare the hours of entertainment and activities you get each day. Compare those tickets against the cost of a concert which these days can easily be more than a 1-day Walt Disney World ticket and then look at the multiday hours of entertainment you receive in return.
Types of Disney World Tickets
There are different types of Disney World tickets that you can choose from for your trip which all impact the level of Disney World ticket prices:
1 Park Per Day/Base Tickets, which allow you to visit one of the four theme parks (Magic Kingdom park, EPCOT, Disney’s Hollywood Studios, and Disney’s Animal Kingdom) per day. You can plan a 1-Day trip or a Multi-Day trip for anywhere between 2 and 10 days.
Park Hopper, which allows you to visit more than one park on the same day with a theme park reservation required for the park you start in.
Water Park and Sports Option, which allows you admission to one theme park per day and a certain number of visits to:
- Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon Water Park
- Disney’s Blizzard Beach Water Park
- ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex
- Disney’s Oak Trail Golf Course
- FootGolf at Disney's Oak Trail
- Disney’s Fantasia Gardens Miniature Golf Course (one round; prior to 4:00 PM)
- Disney’s Winter Summerland Miniature Golf Course (one round; prior to 4:00 PM)
Park Hopper Plus, which combines the benefits of a Park Hopper ticket and Water and Sports Option, with a certain number of visits to a water park or other Walt Disney World sports-related activities.
Disney World Ticket Usage Windows
Depending on the length of your visit, your ticket will be valid for usage during certain windows. Each ticket will allow you a certain number of visits to the parks, but you don’t need to visit on consecutive days. For example, you could visit the parks for a few days, take a resort day at the pool or explore the surrounding area, then return for another few park days. The Water Park and Sports Option or a Park Hopper Plus Option adds an additional day to your valid use period.
For each ticket length, these are the windows during which they are valid for use:
1-Day Ticket – Valid only on date selected during purchase
2-Day Ticket – Valid during any 2 days within 4 days after selected start date
3-Day Ticket – Valid during any 3 days within 5 days after selected start date
4-Day Ticket – Valid any 4 days within 7 days after selected start date
5-Day Ticket – Valid any 5 days within 8 days after selected start date
6-Day Ticket – Valid any 6 days within 9 days after selected start date
7-Day Ticket – Valid any 7 days within 10 days after selected start date
8-Day Ticket – Valid any 8 days within 12 days after selected start date
9-Day Ticket – Valid any 9 days within 13 days after selected start date
10-Day Ticket – Valid any 10 days within 14 days after selected start date
When you go to select tickets from the Disney World website, you'll see that it highlights the full window during which you can enjoy your tickets. For example, for a 4-day ticket selected on October 10th, the window extends an extra three days to October 16th, so you have the flexibility to use tickets on non-consecutive days:
Disney World Base Ticket (1 Park Per Day) Pricing
A base ticket (1 Park Per Day) gives you entry to one of the four theme parks—Magic Kingdom, EPCOT, Disney’s Hollywood Studios, and Disney’s Animal Kingdom—per day. This is the standard option that does not include Park Hopping or the Water Park and Sports Option. You can choose from a 1-Day, 2-Day, 3-Day, 4-Day, 5-Day, 6-Day, 7-Day, 8-Day, 9-Day, or 10-Day base ticket.
1-Day Base Ticket Pricing
Pricing for a 1-day base ticket currently ranges between $109-189 for adults depending on the date and which park you select. Disney World ticket prices range in price based on the time of year you are visiting, with pricing varying based on the park you select.
Magic Kingdom will always be on the higher end of the pricing range, while Animal Kingdom will be on the lower end. Busier seasons and holidays (dates to avoid if you hate crowds) will typically be more expensive, and dates during the “off-season” will be lower in price. You can see how the price ranges for a 1-Day ticket vary per park:
Animal Kingdom: $109-159
EPCOT: $114-179
Hollywood Studios: $124-179
Magic Kingdom: $124-189
For example in context, this is the difference in pricing per park for a $109+ ticket on August 23 of last year:
Disney World Cheapest 1-Day Tickets
So this begs the question, what is the cheapest day for Walt Disney World tickets? Technically the lowest price per day is advertised as $109 when the tickets are lumped together as a set minimum and maximum. This is a typical positive spin when we hear commentary such as “Disney World prices for as low as $109 per day!” But if we look at the chart above, the only park that is priced that low is Animal Kingdom. For Magic Kingdom, the lowest possible 1-day ticket price is $124 as the park is usually the highest price out of the four.
But realistically, how often are ticket prices at the lowest bottom of the tier? You will only see prices this low during the slowest times of the year which is usually August and September. The more popular time of the year you visit, the higher the ticket prices will be.
When you go to buy a ticket on the Disney World website, you'll be taken to a calendar that shows which “tier” each date is to give you an idea of Disney World ticket prices. These are expressed in ranges, meaning that pricing will not always be exactly the same per park for each tier. For example, a $109+ tier ticket could mean that Magic Kingdom costs $124 on one day, and it could cost $179 on another day depending on the date you select.
Below is the table for 1-day base pricing per day for adults (guests ages 10+) and children (ages 3-9), ranging from the lowest prices found in August (one of the best months to visit Disney World) to the highest prices found during the peak time of late December. Looking at the pricing, you can see how the longer trip you book, the lower the per-day pricing gets. For tickets 3 days or longer in length, you save $20 per ticket by purchasing online in advance compared to the price at the ticket window.
Number of Days | Per Day Price (Adult) | Per Day Price (Child) |
---|---|---|
1 | $109-189 | $104-184 |
2 | $111.03-168.33 | $106.35-163.57 |
3 | $113.34-165.32 | $108.74-160.65 |
4 | $113.77-158.06 | $109.37-153.60 |
5 | $98.37-141.38 | $94.53 -137.77 |
6 | $84.48-125.14 | $81.15-121.60 |
7 | $74.58-110.02 | $71.63-106.91 |
8 | $69.62-98.77 | $66.92-95.95 |
9 | $64.37-89.16 | $61.90-86.60 |
10 | $59.90-81.69 | $57.62-79.33 |
Park Hopper Ticket Pricing
With a Park Hopper ticket, you can visit more than one theme park on the same day, and you're required to make a theme park reservation for the park you start out in for the day. Right now, guests are not required to make a reservation for the second park they visit. After entering their first park, guests can go back and forth between the parks starting at 2pm.
Starting on January 9, 2024, Disney World will end the requirement for theme park reservations for most tickets. Theme park reservations will not be required for date-based tickets, which is the standard option for guests on the Walt Disney World website when purchasing tickets.
Park Hopper is added onto your base ticket. For a 1-Day Park Hopper ticket ranging from the lowest priced-day in August to the highest-priced day in December of this year, the price ranges from $183-252. 2-Day tickets cost between $75-85 more than a base ticket or $85-95 more than a base ticket for a 4-day or longer ticket.
Do I Need a Walt Disney World Park Hopper Ticket?
The main benefit of a Park Hopper ticket is the flexibility it gives you on your Walt Disney World vacation. Some guests may not feel the need to spend an entire day at Animal Kingdom and may wish to hop to another theme park by midafternoon. This is especially true for those parks, like Animal Kingdom, that consistently open early and close early. If you do not have a Park Hopper ticket, you will be left without any options once the park closes aside from visiting your resort hotel or Disney Springs. Animal Kingdom can sometimes close as early as 5PM or 6PM depending on the time of the year and many families may not be ready to call it quits for the day. Having a Park Hopper ticket gives guests the flexibility to hop over to any other park they wish.
A Park Hopper ticket can also help guests maximize their amount of available time in the theme parks so they can rope drop in the morning and then pick a theme park that closes latest (which is often EPCOT) for the evening. It's common for many families to take an afternoon break especially to use their Walt Disney World hotel pool. This makes park hopping at Walt Disney World even easier as you can simply just pick a second park to visit in the evening after your afternoon break.
However, you can easily have a great Walt Disney World vacation without a park hopper ticket which can often save you around $100 per person, depending on your ticket type. If you plan on staying at the theme park all day then a one-park-per-day ticket might actually be more convenient so you can avoid having to use transportation around the resort to park hop. Many guests have a great experience at Disney World without needing to add on the Park Hopper option. You can save the money you didn’t spend on Park Hopper tickets for another area of your trip. See our 1-Day itineraries for Magic Kingdom, Animal Kingdom, EPCOT, and Hollywood Studios if you are spending a full day at each park.
Water Park and Sports Option Pricing
The Water Park and Sports Option allows you to visit one theme park per day and also gives you a certain number of visits to a water park or sports-related activity, with the number of visits depending on the length of the trip on your ticket. For example, a 3-day ticket allows 3 visits, a 4-day ticket allows 4 visits, etc.
For each visit, you can choose one of the following:
- Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon Water Park
- Disney’s Blizzard Beach Water Park
- ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex
- Disney’s Oak Trail Golf Course
- FootGolf at Disney's Oak Trail
- Disney’s Fantasia Gardens Miniature Golf Course (one round; prior to 4:00 PM)
- Disney’s Winter Summerland Miniature Golf Course (one round; prior to 4:00 PM)
You are able to use more than one visit on the same day, and for water parks, you can leave and come back to the same water park during the day without it counting as more than one visit. Each admission to golf rounds counts as a visit. You can see our guide to Disney Blizzard Beach tickets for more information on ticket options and pricing at this water park.
The Water Park and Sports Option is added to your base ticket. This option is not offered for 1-Day tickets, so it's only available for tickets 2 days and longer. The Water Park and Sports option always costs $70 more than base ticket pricing regardless of trip length or date selected.
As mentioned earlier as it pertains to the valid usage window, adding the Water Parks & Sports option to a Base ticket extends the window by an additional day. For example, instead of a 6-day ticket being valid within any 9 days after the selected start date, it's instead valid for 10 days for you to enjoy your park days and water park/sports activities visits.
Park Hopper Plus Ticket Pricing
The Park Hopper Plus ticket, which is a combination of a Park Hopper and Water Park and Sports Option, allows you to visit more than one theme park on the same day and have a certain number of visits to a water park or other Walt Disney World sports-related activities. The number of visits depends on the length of the trip on your ticket as mentioned previously (a 3-day ticket allows 3 visits, a 4-day ticket allows 4 visits, etc.). Like the Water and Sports Option, the Park Hopper Plus Option will also add another day to your valid use period.
The same rules apply for park hopping, with a reservation required for the first theme park you plan to visit and park hopping starting at 2:00 PM. For each visit to a water park or sports-related activity, you can choose from the same options as the ones offered with the Water and Sports ticket.
Pricing for a Park Hopper Plus ticket will be $20 more than pricing would be for a regular Park Hopper ticket. So, for example, a 3-day regular Park Hopper ticket on November 14th costs $501.41, and a Park Hopper Plus costs $525.41 as seen below.
Admission to Water Parks and Sports Experiences
You can also enjoy a visit to the Disney World water parks and sports experiences without visiting a theme park, with admission priced separately for adults and children.
1-Day Water Park Tickets
1-Day Water Park Ticket: $69 per adult (ages 10+) or $63 per child (ages 3 to 9)
1-Day Water Park Tickets with Blockout Dates: $64 per adult (ages 10+) or $58 per child (age 3 to 9)
General ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex admission prices:
Adults (ages 10+): $19.50
Children (ages 3 – 9): $14.50
Winter Summerland Miniature Golf
Adults (ages 10+): $14
Children (ages 3-9) $12
Fantasia Gardens and Fairways Miniature Golf
Adults (ages 10+): $14
Children (ages 3-9) $12
Disney’s Oak Trail Golf Course
Greens fees vary per season, day of week, and time you choose to play.
Should I Buy A Park Hopper Plus Ticket?
If you plan on using more than one of the recreational experiences then a Park Hopper Plus ticket can be worth it. But we always recommend pricing out the cost difference as you may end up paying more for this add-on than just purchasing an individual ticket if you plan on only taking advantage of one of these experiences.
Disney After Hours
Disney After Hours is a series of separately ticked special nighttime events that allow guests to enjoy extended hours after the parks close. Guests can enjoy lower wait times for attractions and snacks like popcorn, ice cream, and beverages at carts throughout the park (included with the cost of admission). Disney After Hours is available at Magic Kingdom, Hollywood Studios, EPCOT, and Typhoon Lagoon.
You can explore the park for a few hours before the event starting at 7pm (6pm for Typhoon Lagoon) and then enjoy 3 extra hours after the park closes. Ticket prices for Disney After Hours range from $129-159 depending on the date and event. Annual Passholders and Disney Vacation Club members can access specially priced advance purchase tickets that range from $105-$129 in price. Tickets for these special events are limited, so we recommend buying them in advance!
You can see our guide on Disney After Hours at Walt Disney World for a full breakdown of past events and tips.

Additional Costs at Disney World
Theme Park Parking: The fee per day for parking can be used for all four parks: Magic Kingdom, EPCOT, Disney’s Hollywood Studios, and Animal Kingdom. You have the option of Standard or Preferred parking (located closer to the theme park entrances). Currently, the cost for parking is:
Standard: $30 per day
Preferred: $45, $50, or $55 per day (pricing is seasonal and will vary based on date of visit)
Oversized Vehicle: $35 per day
For guests of a Disney Resort hotel and Annual Passholders, Standard parking is included. You have the option to pay the difference (currently $15 to $25 per day) to upgrade to Preferred parking.
Genie+: Genie+ is a paid service that allows you to choose a return window and skip the long standby times for rides. Disney World has implemented an impactful Genie+ change where pricing for the service is now per park. This was Disney’s initial sample pricing when the change was first released:
- $27 per person for Multiple Parks
- $27 per person for Magic Kingdom
- $24 per person for Disney’s Hollywood Studios
- $18 per person for EPCOT
- $16 per person for Animal Kingdom
Prices for Disney Genie Plus have ranged in the past based on crowd levels and offerings at the parks, so these numbers may shift a bit.
Genie+ can add up in cost over several days, so it's worth knowing which parks Genie+ is a necessity for and which you can skip Genie+ for to save money. At Animal Kingdom and EPCOT with limited high-demand attractions, you can take advantage of shorter wait times in the early morning and late evening and purchase Individual Lightning Lanes for the more popular attractions at these parks. That way, you can save money during your time at these two parks and purchase the Genie+ service for Magic Kingdom and Hollywood Studios, which have long lines and are some of the most popular attractions at the parks.
You can see our full guide to Walt Disney World Genie+ for more information on this paid service and tips for using it.
Individual Lightning Lanes: Individual Lightning Lanes are offered for the most popular attractions at the parks, and they are offered at an a la carte rate (not included with your Genie+ purchase). You can purchase Individual Lightning Lane entry for up to 2 attractions per day. Individual Lightning Lanes are currently offered for the following rides:
- Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind
- Seven Dwarfs Mine Train
- Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance
- Avatar Flight of Passage
- TRON Lightcycle / Run
Costs will fluctuate, but Individual Lightning Lane entry to attractions usually falls between $10-25 per person depending on the attraction and time of year.
Memory Maker: With Memory Maker, you can download all PhotoPass photos and ride photos from your visit for 30 days after your trip. You have the opportunity for Disney Photopass photographers to take your picture at spots across the parks, select character meet-and-greet locations, and select attractions, and you can choose from over 75 unique Magic Shots.
If you buy Memory Maker ahead of time, it costs $185 regardless of how long your trip is. If you buy Memory Maker during or after your trip, it costs $210. You also have the option to purchase it for a single day for $75.
Dining: Dining is another day-to-day expense to consider during your trip to Disney World. The cost of dining will depend on whether you're opting for counter service or table service food, how much you plan on snacking, and if you're planning on bringing in your own food or dining exclusively at the parks.
You can see our guide on how much it costs to go to Disney World in 2024 to see how much you should budget for food. Disney World is also reintroducing the popular Disney Dining Plans in 2024 that allow guests to pre-pay for meals and snacks—you can read more in our guide to Disney World Dining Plans to see if they're worth it!
Walt Disney World Discounts 2024
Disney World offers discounts to annual passholders, Florida residents, Disney Visa Cardmembers, Disney+ subscribers, and more throughout the year. Special offers will also occasionally be offered to all guests during certain seasons. For all of the Disney World discounts offered on hotel stays and tickets for this year, be sure to see our guide on current Disney World discounts.
FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions)
The cost for a Disney World ticket will depend on which type of ticket you select (Base Ticket, Park Hopper Ticket, Water and Sports Option, or Park Hopper Plus), length of trip, age (adult or child), and what time of year you visit. If you select a 1-Day Base ticket, pricing will also depend on which park you select.
Currently, base pricing (1 park per day) for a 3 day pass to Walt Disney World ranges from $113.34-165.32 per day for adults and $108.74-160.65 per day for children. If you add on Park Hopper, Water and Sports Option, or Park Hopper Plus, the cost will be greater for a 3-Day ticket.
Disneyland is so expensive for a few reasons: increasing demand at the parks leads to higher ticket prices, and Disney needs to maintain the quality of its parks. When the parks are in the most demand, ticket prices will be highest, and Disney will try to entice guests with promotions during slower seasons. Disney is the industry leader for theme parks worldwide and promises safe and high-quality experiences for guests, and maintaining this comes at a price.
A 3 year old does need a ticket to go to Walt Disney World. Children ages 2 and under can go for free, children ages 3-9 need tickets, and adults (ages 10+) need tickets.
