Disney World Free Dining Plans Returning in 2025, See All Dates Just Announced

Walt Disney World offers a range of discounts throughout the year with some being better than others. If you are planning on visiting in 2025 then it's important to review the discounts to see which one offers the best savings for your trip.

Next year at Walt Disney World offers a number of new experiences and entertainment like the new nighttime parade debuting at Magic Kingdom, and the highly anticipated reimagined Test Track plus a brand new show at Animal Kingdom. 

One of the most popular discounts is returning for 2025 and we have all the information on this discount, when you can book and my thoughts on whether this deal is worth it compared to other released offerings for the year.

Free Dining Plan Returning to Walt Disney World

Free dining is returning to Walt Disney World in 2025! The Free Dining discount is easily the most popular promotion that Walt Disney World offers and it always garners a lot of attention.

Starting January 2, 2025 through February 10, 2025 guests get a free dining plan with the purchase of a non-discounted 3-night, 3-day minimum Walt Disney World Resort hotel package with Park Hopper tickets. The offer is available for most arrivals starting May 27, 2025 through June 26, 2025 and July 7, 2025 through Aug. 6, 2025.

Guests who book at Walt Disney World Value or Moderate Level Resorts will receive the Quick Service Disney Dining Plan with this offer. Guests who book a Walt Disney World Deluxe Resort will receive the Disney Dining Plan. Guests are also given the option to pay the difference to upgrade to the Disney Dining Plan.

What Do You Get With a Disney World Dining Plan?

The Quick Service dining plan includes two quick-service meals, one snack, and one resort refillable mug. The Disney Dining plan includes one quick-service meal, table-service meal, one snack, and one resort refillable mug. Often the best way to think about the Disney Dining Plans is to look at what's included as credits. So for example, for a five-night stay under the Quick Service Dining Plan, each guest would receive 10 quick-service meal credits and 5 snacks. It's up to the guests when they want to use these credits.

You could use 3 quick-service credits in one day for one guest if you wanted to, for example. Or you could use two snacks in one day. The guest gets to decide when these credits are used, it doesn't have to be per day.

Is the Walt Disney World Free Dining Plan Worth It?

The biggest thing to take note of right away with the free dining you are giving up the ability to book any other Walt Disney World discount offers since these offers can never be combined. This is important to keep in mind because you always want to do the math to compare the different promotions taking place during your trip dates. This means taking into account these three important factors when booking free dining:

• Park Hopper ticket is required to book
• Offer is only valid for non-discounted Disney World packages
• Dining plans restrict guests to eating primarily at Disney World restaurants

If you already planned on purchasing a Park Hopper ticket and eating out at Walt Disney World (as opposed to ordering groceries, eating off-site to save money, etc.) then this offer likely makes sense.

If not, then you might want to reconsider as the cost for a Park Hopper typically increases around $95 per ticket and the cost of meals at Walt Disney World is always going to be higher than making food in your hotel room. Booking a free Disney World dining offer you will be committing to dining primarily at Walt Disney World. For some guests, this was already part of their plan but many guests like to eat off property whether it's by purchasing groceries and eating at the hotel or grabbing food at nearby fast food restaurants.

Now when it comes to comparing offers, this is the biggest step you want to take to think about which deal saves the most money. To best compare these offers, add up the cost of the Disney Dining plan and use that as an example of money saved for your trip. Then price your dates for the percentage-off savings and compare which offers the best savings.

For instance, one other offer in 2025 can save guests up to 25% off their hotel. This room discount savings of up to 25% depending on your hotel choice and travel dates so this is why it's so important to do the math based on your hotel and dates. The highest level of savings across hotel categories is through February 23 to April 30, 2025 with the lower tier of savings January 1 to February 20, 2025. This offer ends before the free dining does meaning travel in June would make the Free Dining offer the best choice.

But there's also another offer in 2025 that goes until June 30, 2025! Rather than a percentage off, this room discount offers a flat amount of savings based on hotel type with deluxe hotels saving up to $200 per night with value hotels only saving $60 per night.
