Disney recently announced that the popular Australian television series Bluey would be coming to theaters. We had hoped that this news meant that we would see the Bluey characters finally come to the parks, and now Disney has confirmed this in a new announcement!

Bluey is the most-watched series globally on Disney+ in 2024 that follows the story of Bluey, a blue heeler dog, and her family. You can see more details that have been announced about the upcoming Bluey movie that Disney is bringing to theaters!

Disney has shared that starting in January 2025 on Disney Cruise Line voyages coming from Australia and New Zealand, there will be new opportunities to interact with Bluey and her sister, Bingo! This includes meet-and-greets as well as “an interactive and clue-filled game that ends in a dance party featuring Bluey’s signature moves.”

Ludo Studio, which produces Bluey, is currently working with BBC Studios and Disney on “a number of special activations for fans to enjoy.” More details will be coming in the months ahead on how guests will be able to meet Bluey and her family at Disneyland and Disney World.

Josh D’Amaro, Chairman of Disney Experiences, commented on the impact of this popular show: “Bluey has become a household name for families around the world and we are thrilled to bring her story to life in new ways. We can’t wait to watch our youngest guests and their families make memories with Bluey in our parks and on our cruises.”

We have long been wishing that Bluey would come to the parks and were excited when the Bluey characters greeted guests at the D23 Expo (pictured above)! Bluey has now more than 50 million minutes streamed in the United States this year which made it the number one streaming show for 2024. It makes sense to see Disney continue to expand their offerings for Bluey and this would be a great way to create more experiences for younger children at the parks.

But I don't think just younger children will be interested in Bluey character experiences! People of all ages love Bluey which is why we think this is such a good move to bring the characters to the parks and the cruise lines. On Disney Cruise LIne character interactions are one of the most popular experiences for families and I can see Bluey drawing large crowds on the Disney Cruise Line ships.
