Disney Pirate Pass: Blockout Dates, Price, Benefits

Disney World offers four types of annual passes including the Incredi-Pass, Sorcerer Pass, Pirate Pass, and Pixie Dust Pass. The Pirate Pass and Pixie Dust Pass are currently only available to Florida residents with proof of residency. The only Disney World annual pass available to all guests is the Incredi-Pass, while the Sorcerer Pass is available to both Florida residents and Disney Vacation Club (DVC) members.

I am a Disney World annual passholder and frequently visit the Disney parks to experience the benefits of being a passholder. These benefits not only include having access to the theme parks, but also discounts on dining and merchandise, free standard parking, and much more. This article will break down all the details on the Disney Pirates Pass including the blockout dates, pricing, discounts, and all the great benefits that come with purchasing the Disney Pirate Pass!

Disney Pirate Pass Benefits

Many choose to purchase a Disney World annual pass not only to experience the parks multiple times throughout the year, but because of the many benefits that come with being a passholder. The below section includes some of these great perks!

Park Hopping

All Disney World annual passholders can park hop at anytime throughout the day as long as their pass is not blocked out. Disney World tickets with the park hopper option are more expensive than single park tickets, making this a great perk. Although Disney World passholders are still required to make park reservations on most days, there are also many “good to go” days which do not require passholders to make a park reservation. Passholders with the Disney Pirate Pass can hold up to four park reservations on a rolling basis. If they have Disney World hotel reservations, they can make additional park reservations during the days at which they are staying at their hotel.

Free Standard Theme Park Parking

All Disney World annual passholders are able to park at any theme park for free, they just need to show their annual pass and valid photo ID at the parking gate. Preferred parking is also available, however, passholders would need to pay the difference between preferred and standard parking if they choose preferred parking. Standard parking typically costs $30, and preferred parking costs between $45 and $55 depending on the season. The only other time guests receive free theme park parking is if they are staying at a Disney World hotel. However, the free parking for passholders is more convenient especially if they are only visiting for the day or staying off Disney property.

Limited Edition Passholder Merchandise and Snacks

Another perk of the Disney Pirate Pass includes access to the infamous passholder magnets that are released every few months, merchandise (shirts, pins, magicbands, etc.), PhotoPass opportunities, and even passholder exclusive snacks! These passholder exclusives frequently change, but there is always something for passholders to look forward to during their next trip to Disney World.

Experience New Attractions Before the Public

When a new attraction opens, such as Tiana's Bayou Adventure, passholders almost always have the chance to experience the ride before it opens to the public! This is such a cool perk that many passholders love. Although new attractions don't open too often, passholder attraction previews are another cool perk to having a Disney Pirate pass!

Disney Pirate Pass Pricing and Add-Ons

The Disney Pirate Pass costs $799, plus tax. Those who purchase the Disney Pirate Pass can also utilize the Florida Resident Payment Program to purchase the pass at 0% interest, which requires a $205 down payment and a monthly payment of $54.

Another perk of being a Disney World annual passholder is the option to purchase add-ons at a discounted rate. For an additional $99 per year, passholders have access to unlimited digital downloads of any photos taken by the PhotoPass cast members throughout the park, including ride photos! I highly recommend purchasing this add-on because typically photo downloads, also known as the memory maker package, cost $185 for a 30-day time frame (or $210 if not purchased in advance). Guests can also purchase a memory maker one-day package for $75. Therefore, $99 is a great deal for one year.

Disney Pirate passholders can also purchase a water park and sports option for $99 per year. This option gives admission to Disney World’s water parks, golf courses, and other sports experiences. The admission to these experiences have no blockout dates! This add-on includes access to:

  • Admission to either Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon Water Park or Disney’s Blizzard Beach Water Park (whichever is open)

  • ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex

Is the Disney Pirate Pass Worth It?

Pirates of the Caribbean auction scene

The Disney Pirate Pass is a great option for Florida residents who want to visit Disney frequently but don't plan on visiting the parks during peak times including holidays. The cost of the Disney Pirate Pass is about the same price as a ten day park hopper ticket to Disney World, and this doesn't even include all of the discounts passholders receive. Therefore, the Disney Pirate Pass is definitely worth it for Florida residents who plan on visiting the parks at least five to ten times per year!

Another great perk of having an annual pass is that you don't feel as rushed or pressured to get everything done in a single day, or spend every waking hour inside the theme parks. Annual passes allow guests to enjoy many other amazing things outside of the Disney World theme parks. For example, if you want to spend the day enjoying your Disney hotel, but spend a couple hours at Magic Kingdom at night to watch the fireworks, annual passes are a great perk!

Even without an annual pass, there are always tons of great ways to save money on Disney World tickets! Be sure to check out our ultimate guide to current Disney World ticket and hotel discounts! I also recommend checking out Disney's ticket deals on their website for other current offers.

The main different between each of the annual passes is the blockout dates.

Can you park hop with a Pirate Pass?
