Disneyland has plenty of places to get ice cream, but one spot guests often walk right past may be worth a stop. The benefit of this ice cream spot is that the lines are among the shortest in the park, especially since it’s tucked away in a hidden corner.

Ghirardelli Soda Fountain and Chocolate Shop
The Ghirardelli Soda Fountain and Chocolate Shop is located in Disney California Adventure, featuring Ghirardelli chocolates along with a variety of ice cream options like sundaes and more. There is hardly a line at this spot when you compare it to the ice cream spots along the main walkways in Disneyland, like Gibson Girl Ice Cream Parlor and Clarabelle’s Hand-Scooped Ice Cream.

Most of that is due to the location of Ghirardelli Soda Fountain and Chocolate Shop since it is tucked away in a corner in San Fransokyo Square. Since you don’t walk right past this spot on the way to popular rides, it can easily go by unnoticed.
One of my favorite sundaes on the menu is the Ocean Beach Sea Salt Caramel Sundae. I always get it with dark chocolate, which complements the salted caramel well.
We also tried the Lands End Salted Caramel Brownie Sundae! This amazing sundae features warm brownies, vanilla ice cream, hot fudge, sea salt, caramel sauce, and whipped cream.
Ghirardelli will also get seasonal flavors like this Dubai chocolate option we loved this summer.
This was one of the best seasonal options we’ve seen offered at this spot! The Ghirardelli Soda Fountain and Chocolate Shop will also have different seasonal options for events like Oogie Boogie Bash and specialty options for the holiday season.
They also sell a variety of Ghirardelli chocolates and gift sets inside, including a massive selection of single packaged chocolates in their iconic flavors.

Next time you’re in Disneyland and see the long lines for the other ice cream spots, take the time to head over to Ghirardelli Soda Fountain and Chocolate Shop, which might just have the best ice cream sundaes in the park!
