16 Worst Disneyland Restaurants According to Yelp Reviews – Plus, Whether We Agree

Disneyland is filled with a variety of incredible dining options, from favorite table-service options like Lamplight Lounge and Cafe Orleans to beloved quick-service stops like Bengal Barbecue and Jolly Holiday Bakery Cafe.

However, amidst the wide selection of dining options offered at the Disneyland Resort, some fall short in the eyes of guests and they made it known. While there are reasons why you might not want to completely avoid these locations, it's helpful to know which ones don't get the best reviews.

We break down which Disneyland restaurants receive the lowest rankings on Yelp and also chime in with whether we think that review still applies today or is completely off base. We visit Disneyland weekly and are constantly trying new foods and offerings.

Disneyland Restaurants With the Worst Yelp Reviews

worst Disneyland restaurants Yelp

For this article, we will be exploring the restaurants that are the lowest-rated on Yelp and talking about some of the reasons why they may fall short of guests' expectations. This may be due to the service, the quality of the food itself, and more factors that have led guests to be less-than-satisfied.

We will be including both quick-service and table-service restaurants at Disneyland's theme parks, Downtown Disney, and the Disneyland Resort Hotels. For this list, we're only going to be looking at restaurants that have a substantial amount of reviews on Yelp (over 100). We reviewed the Yelp ratings for all Disneyland restaurants and will be sharing 16 with the lowest ratings of 3.3 stars or below. We'll also discuss some reasons why you may still want to visit these locations and what they have to offer!

You can check out our list below, but be sure to also read our top best Disneyland restaurants in 2024 and the best Disneyland foods 2024 based on our frequent visits.

Lucky Fortune Cookery

Lucky Fortune Cookery has one of the lowest ratings on Yelp at currently 2.9 stars. This Disney California Adventure quick-service Asian eatery promises “fast, fresh ‘n’ hearty meals” and offers options like the Beef Birria Ramen, Teriyaki Chicken, Baymax Macaron, and more.

Lucky Fortune Cookery is part of the dining area that was recently reimagined from Pacific Wharf into San Fransokyo Square, and it has received some great new menu items since that time, including one of our favorites: the Karaage-inspired Crispy Chicken Sandwich (pictured below).

At Lucky Fortune Cookery, guests have complained about some issues with the quality of the food and lack of flavor, long waits, and overly sweet drinks, amongst other criticisms. Ultimately, many guests felt Lucky Fortune Cookery fell flat in its consistency and efficiency compared to other options.

I'm personally a little bit sad to see this option receive such a low review given that some menu items really shine, but it is definitely clear from the Yelp reviews that overall improvements can be made. We still recommend giving Lucky Fortune Cookery a visit to try some of its standout items—see our favorites and review in our guide to new foods at San Fransokyo.

Galactic Grill

Galactic Grill is another location guests did not give a very high rating on Yelp, as it received 3.1 stars. Galactic Grill is a space-themed eatery located in Tomorrowland at Disneyland Park, offering a variety of breakfast, lunch, dinner, and snack options. You'll also find a good selection of allergy-friendly options here as well as some plant-based options (see our guides to eating gluten-free at Disneyland and the best Disneyland vegetarian food). The Veggie Wrap is especially a good choice for a vegetarian option. Plus, it comes with fries, making the $9.99 price point a great option for cheap Disneyland food.

Guests have complained that Galactic Grill feels a bit underwhelming/average compared to other options and it is not worth the price. However, we still think it's worth exploring some of the seasonal foods that are offered here. Galactic Grill offers some seasonal menu items like the Darth by Chocolate Parfait that has appeared for Star Wars month at Disneyland and Halloween at Disneyland, the Galaxy Parfait that was one of four foods we recently tried at Disneyland, and more fun options.

worst Disneyland restaurants Yelp Galactic Grill bagel sandwich

We also enjoy breakfast at Galactic Grill (see bagel sandwich pictured above)!

Smokejumpers Grill

Smokejumpers Grill is another location that did not receive the most favorable reviews on Yelp, with a 3.1 rating. The quick-service location, located in Grizzly Peak at Disney California Adventure, invites guests to “extinguish your hunger with fiery favorites,” with “Pilot Classics” like burgers, chicken, salads, and plant-based options, as well as a selection of milkshakes. Smokejumpers Grill also recently added new breakfast offerings to its menu.

Guests have complained about the food quality with some items lacking in flavor, long lines, and service that could be improved. However, we have always had positive experiences at Smokejumpers Grill and think it is a great, convenient mobile-order option.

We've always enjoyed the milkshakes from this location as well as some other favorite items like the Grilled Chicken Salad and Chipotle BBQ Bacon Double Cheeseburger. Even though Smokejumpers Grill did not receive the highest rating on Yelp, don't skip this location! We just tried one of the new menu items that was just added to Smokejumpers Grill.

Wetzel's Pretzels

There are also some Downtown Disney locations on this list that didn't meet the Yelp reviewers' expectations. One of these is Wetzel's Pretzels, which received a 3.1 rating. Wetzel's Pretzels offers fresh-baked, hand-rolled soft pretzels, as well as fresh-squeezed or frozen lemonade. Wetzel's Pretzels will also sometimes get some seasonal or limited-time food items for celebrations like Lunar New Year at Disneyland and Valentine's Day at Disneyland.

Guests have complained that Wetzel's Pretzels is overpriced, the service could be improved, and there are issues with the food quality. While it does seem like improvements can be made from the reviews, I have stopped by Wetzel's during several trips to get a quick snack to tide myself over until my next meal, and I have personally never experienced an issue with the quality of food or service here. The pretzels are priced higher at Downtown Disney than other Wetzel's Pretzels locations, but this is common anytime you see a chain restaurant in a theme park area. This is likely what contributed to the reviews on Wetzel's Pretzels being overpriced.

Wetzel's Pretzels is one of the multiple quick-service restaurants offered at Downtown Disney to grab a quick bite or snack. If you're planning on dining in Downtown Disney, see the best Downtown Disney restaurants we would recommend and which we would skip!

Magic Key Terrace

worst Disneyland restaurants Yelp Magic Key Terrace California Adventure

An interesting addition to this list is the Magic Key Terrace, which is offered for Magic Key holders and their guests above the Golden Vine Winery in Disney California Adventure. Magic Key Terrace receives only 3.1 stars on Yelp.

This special lounge offers scenic views of San Fransokyo Square, Cars Land, and Avengers Campus (along with potential views of entertainment below), early California hacienda-themed architecture, and a variety of drink and snack options. Guests can choose from a menu of fun specialty cocktails inspired by the park's history and enjoy California-fresh appetizers and light bites.

At this location, guests have complained of slow service and long wait times to be seated as well as underwhelming food with small portion sizes for the price. However, it still is worth giving Magic Key Terrace a visit to enjoy its ambiance and unique offerings, like the popular 5… 4… 3… 2… 1 cocktail (made with Captain Morgan Original Spiced Rum, Bols Blue Curaçao, coconut-pineapple cream, and fresh lime juice). The menu also offers some appealing plant-based options as well!

See everything you need to know about Disneyland Magic Key benefits in our guide.

Napolini Pizzeria

Another Downtown Disney location that didn't receive rave reviews is Napolini Pizzeria, which offers quick-service Italian food and has 3.1 stars on Yelp. You'll find a selection of specialty pizzas, sandwiches, salads, and desserts here.

Guests have complained about the underwhelming quality of food here (with food coming out soggy, greasy, etc.) as well as limited menu options and seating.

Napolini Pizzeria is still a great choice if you want a quick option for something to eat, which can sometimes be tricky in Downtown Disney. Since this location is so popular, the food is consistently fresh and you don't have to worry about pizzas sitting under a heating lap for a while. See our favorite quick-service restaurants at Disneyland.

Personally, we don't feel it differs much from the quality of food you receive at Naples Ristorante e Bar. We love Naples Ristorante e Bar, which has a great ambiance. I particularly like the upstairs outdoor seating which is removed from the noise of Downtown Disney. The bar outside is also a great spot to stop for a drink that I highly recommend.

Alien Pizza Planet

Another Disneyland restaurant with lower ratings is Alien Pizza Planet, located in Tomorrowland at Disneyland Park next to the entrance of Space Mountain. Alien Pizza Planet receives a 3.2 rating on Yelp. This quick-service location inspired by the green aliens from Toy Story offers “out-of-this-world fast fare” including breadsticks, pizza, salad, and more.

Guests have expressed that while they do enjoy the great atmosphere of this dining location, they feel the food here is mediocre and not worth the price, and they have also experienced long lines.

The food here is actually pretty terrible, and it's often one of our last choice options for quick service in Disneyland, so I feel the Yelp reviews are justified for this experience. While Napolini Pizzeria doesn't give the impression the pizza has been sitting under a heating lamp, Alien Pizza Planet definitely will.

However, Alien Pizza Planet offers some seasonal items throughout the year, and the Vampire Alien Macaron was our favorite treat we shared during the Halloween season. We enjoyed the rich, creamy chocolate flavor and smooth texture enhanced by the crunch of the macaron. See this macaron pictured below:

Alien Pizza planet macaron

We'll frequently stop in here to get a cup of ice water (just ask the Cast Member at the mobile order pickup area). The ice in the machines is particularly good.

River Belle Terrace

worst Disneyland restaurants Yelp River Belle Terrace

The next restaurant with poor Yelp reviews on our list is River Belle Terrace, located at Frontierland in Disneyland Park. This table-service location offers riverfront views as well as Southern-inspired cuisine for breakfast, lunch, and dinner options, and it receives a 3.2 star rating on Yelp. River Belle Terrace offers foods like the American Breakfast, Buttermilk Fried Chicken Sandwich, Loaded House Fries, BBQ Burnt Ends Pasta, and more. This is one of the Disneyland locations that recently added alcoholic beverages to its menu.

worst Disneyland restaurants Yelp River Belle Terrace dining

Guests have complained about things like slow service, poor quality of food, and the lack of a bathroom at the location. However, River Belle Terrace is one of the dining locations that offers a Fantasmic! dining package, making it an option worth considering with the return of Fantasmic! coming up this year. You can see our review of the Fantasmic! River Belle Terrace dining package for more details about our experience.

We don't love this restaurant either. It could be the fact that this restaurant was formerly a cafeteria-style quick service restaurant, but something about sit-down meals here never stands out to me as anything special. Check out Cafe Orleans for a far superior sit-down lunch option. However, it can be a good choice for families with picky eaters in their group as the menu offers a lot of simple choices that kids will enjoy.

Tiana's Palace

Tiana's Palace Disneyland restaurant

Another Disneyland restaurant with low Yelp reviews is the new Tiana's Palace which was recently opened in New Orleans Square at Disneyland Park. Tiana's Palace currently has a 3.2 star rating on Yelp. This quick-service location offers Southern comfort dishes and plates with a Cajun and Creole twist, with options like the House Gumbo and 7 Greens Gumbo, Muffaleta Sandwich, House-filled Beignet, and more.

See the 7 Greens Gumbo below:

Tiana's Palace 7 Greens Gumbo

Guests have expressed that while they enjoyed the presence of Princess Tiana greeting guests, they were disappointed with the quality of certain menu items and complained of some being cold or too salty. However, it's worth keeping in mind that because this restaurant is so new, there aren't as many ratings on Yelp yet as there are for other Disneyland locations.

worst Disneyland restaurants Yelp Tiana's Palace foods

We are a little sad to see this one received lower ratings on Yelp. We've had a positive experience with the food at Tiana's Palace, which you can see in our Tiana's Palace food review. One thing that we would recommend for this restaurant, however, is avoiding mobile ordering. The food is served in black containers and seems to contain less food and appear unappealing compared to when it's plated. We do think this new Disneyland restaurant is worth a visit!

Cocina Cucamonga Mexican Grill

Cocina Cucamonga Mexican Grill, located in San Fransokyo Square in Disney California Adventure, is another location that did not meet the expectations of Yelp reviewers. Cocina Cucamonga offers a variety of street-style tacos, including Quesabirria, Carne Asada, Pollo Asada, and Tacos Dorados de Papa. Unfortunately, Cocina Cucamonga only received a 3.2 rating on Yelp.

Guests expressed frustration with the long wait as well as disappointing quality and lack of flavor for certain foods. I tried the Quesabirria on a recent trip and was underwhelmed, but I did enjoy the San Fransokyo-style Street Corn and thought it was very flavorful. However, there are plenty of guests who are huge fans of the Quessabirria, and many have also shared they feel the food here is very satisfying and filling.

Oga's Cantina

A surprising addition to this list is Oga's Cantina, the popular Star Wars bar in Galaxy's Edge at Disneyland Park. Oga's Cantina invites guests to step inside the “notorious local watering hole” to enjoy a variety of themed drinks and snacks while enjoying entertainment from droid DJ R-3X. You can enjoy drinks like the Jedi Mind Trick, Fuzzy Tauntaun, and more, along with a selection of drinks without alcohol like the Hyperdrive (Punch It!), Blue Bantha, and more, in this immersive environment.

While reservations at this location are highly coveted, Oga's Cantina is actually not rated very highly on Yelp, with 3.2 stars. While guests said that they enjoyed the ambiance, they expressed they were uncomfortable with the standing tables and being close to other parties in tight spaces, the drinks were underwhelming, and the service could be improved.

Many guests arrive at Oga's Cantina not being prepared that they may have to share a table with other groups, and this can be uncomfortable if you are not aware beforehand. Plus, many guests aren't going to be excited about standing room only after a long day of walking in the theme parks. So this is an understandable critique. You can request a table if you are willing to wait, and this is a big plus if you do not want to stand. The menu for drinks is fairly diverse so you can find an option that will please most guests, and the themed drinks are especially well done. The cocktails are all premixed and this is often where the complaints about quality come from, but in my experience, I have never noticed a quality issue.

The drinks at Oga's have always been enjoyable in our experience and the theming is even better. This is one of the most unique and immersive locations you'll find at the parks, and reservations are difficult to get for a reason! See everything you need to know about Oga's Cantina and our full review.

Wine Country Trattoria

worst Disneyland restaurants Yelp Wine Country Trattoria

The next Disneyland dining location with a low Yelp rating is Wine Country Trattoria in Disney California Adventure, which has 3.2 stars. Wine Country Trattoria serves classic Italian-inspired dishes as well as more than 25 different wines by the glass. At this location, each entree is listed with an ideal pairing, and you also have the ability to order wine flights.

Guests have complained about poor food quality, cold food, and small portion sizes at Wine Country Trattoria. There also seems to be inconsistency in the quality of the service, with some guests reporting fast, attentive service and others complaining about slow service.

worst Disneyland restaurants Yelp Wine Country Trattoria patio

However, you might still want to consider Wine Country Trattoria for your trip if you're planning on buying a dining package for World of Color or the Oogie Boogie Bash parties. This option allows you to get two birds with one stone by enjoying a meal and a reserved viewing area for entertainment.

Rancho Del Zocalo Restaurante

Rancho Del Zocalo Restaurante, located in Frontierland, is a quick service location that offers classic Mexican cuisine, with a large shaded patio area. It offers dishes like a red chile enchilada platter, a trio of street tacos, cauliflower tacos, authentic burritos, and more. Unfortunately, Rancho Del Zocalo Restaurante does not receive the highest rating out of the options offered at the park, with 3.3 stars on Yelp.

Guests have complained about the quality and blandness of the food as well as the long lines. However, while some menu items were disappointing, they did express that they liked the horchata cold brew offered at this location and enjoyed the atmosphere of the patio. Since the restaurant works as cafeteria style, the lines actually move really fast. Most of the build up of the lines occurs at the front of the restaurant as guests decide on their order.

Also at the Disneyland Resort, Tortilla Jo's will soon be closing, and Downtown Disney will introduce Paseo and Centrico this year, which will offer Mexican cuisine.

Rita's Turbine Blenders

Located in San Fransokyo Square at Disney California Adventure, Rita's Turbine Blenders is a quick-service stop offering frozen margaritas, chips, and frozen nonalcoholic drinks. You can choose from options like Rita's Lemon-Lime Margarita, Rita's Strawberry Margarita, Turbine Twirlers in a variety of flavors, and more. Unfortunately, Rita's Turbine Blenders does not have the highest ratings, with 3.3 stars on Yelp.

Guests have expressed that the drinks are a bit overly sweet, weak, and overpriced, and the service could use improvements. However, Rita's Turbine Blenders is still an appealing option for those who want to enjoy a frozen drink on a warmer day during summer at Disneyland.

Hungry Bear Restaurant

Hungry Bear Restaurant, located at Critter Country in Disneyland Park, is another restaurant that is not highly rated on Yelp. Hungry Bear Restaurant, which has 3.3 stars, is a quick-service “casual rustic eatery” that is situated along the Rivers of America. It offers options like cheeseburgers, crispy chicken sandwiches, BBQ chicken salads, and more, as well as the plant-based Classic Impossible Cheeseburger.

Guests have complained of issues like dry or stale buns, cold food, and other food quality issues, as well as some issues with the service. However, Hungry Bear Restaurant is one of the locations that often offers seasonal food items, so it's worth giving these a try if you see some that look appealing. When Fantasmic! returns, it will also feature one of the cheapest places for a Fantasmic! dining package which creates more affordable options for guests.

Hungry Bear Restaurant is also one of our recommended stops for cheap but filling meals at Disneyland.

Ballast Point Brewing Co.

Ballast Point Brewing Co., located in Downtown Disney, features award-winning beer and Southern California cuisine with both indoor and outdoor seating. Unfortunately, Ballast Point is not the most highly rated restaurant at Disneyland, with only 3.3 stars on Yelp.

While Yelp reviewers shared that they enjoyed the beer at this location, they believe the food leaves much to be desired and is overpriced, and there were also comments about the service needing improvement.

However, we still think this is one of the best Downtown Disney restaurants to enjoy a beer and food, and the Baja Style Fish Tacos stand out in particular. You can see our full review of Ballast Point Brewing Co. for more details!

While these restaurants did not receive the most favorable reviews on Yelp, this doesn't mean you should skip them entirely. Ultimately, every guest's experience is different, so be sure to give these dining locations a fair shot during your next trip to Disneyland!

  1. I agree with all those places being overpriced for what you get and the food is always cold. You spend a lot of money to have cold food. It’s best to forgo eating at any of these places and eat outside the park where you get real service and a hot meal for less money. We recently at ate at Boardwalk pizza and pasta, we waited 16 minutes to pay, after paying we returned our food to get new food because our food obviously was cold. They took our food back for hot food.
