Oga’s Cantina Review- Star Wars Bar at Disney 2024

Oga's Cantina is a Star Wars themed bar in both Disneyland and Walt Disney World. If you've seen Star Wars: A New Hope, this bar is inspired by the atmosphere of the Mos Eisley Cantina where Luke Skywalker and Obi-Won Kenobi meet Han Solo and Chewbacca. Oga's Cantina is in Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge and follows the same storyline of existing on the planet Batuu as the rest of the land. Our Oga's Cantina review covers everything you should know about this Star Wars bar at Disney.

Oga's Cantina is one of the only places you can buy alcohol in Disneyland Park making it even more popular for this reason. But even if you're not interested in drinking, Oga's Cantina is worth a visit purely since it's a Star Wars bar at Disney!

Keep reading for my full review of Oga's Cantina, how to get reservations and frequently asked questions.

Is Oga's Cantina Hard to Get?

Yes, in some cases reservations for Oga's Cantina can be hard to get! This is an extremely popular location in both Disneyland and Walt Disney World. Reservations go quickly for this spot and will go even quicker at peak times of the year like holiday weekends, the Christmas season, Spring Break, and the super popular October at Disneyland.

Oga's Cantina does have a 45 minute limit to prevent guests from hanging out all day which also helps you get a reservation much easier!

The good news is if you are online right at the window dining reservations open at, 60 days in advance of your park visit, then you can usually secure one if you're quick! You can read about how to get the hardest Disneyland dining reservations in our guide.

Can You Walk Up to Oga's Cantina?

Yes, Oga's Cantina has a walk up list at both Disneyland and Walt Disney World. I've had success with this option many times even at busy times of the year. You can access the walk up list by just walking near the location and using your Disney app or just ask a cast member to be put on the list.

Is Oga's Cantina Just a Bar?

I would argue that Oga's Cantina is an experience in itself because of the incredible theming and the animatronic DJ Rex playing Star Wars inspired music. If you are a Star Wars fan or just want to see incredible Disney theming at work, you should stop in!

Oga's Cantina has expanded their menu to offer more appetizer options and on our last visit we ate there for a light lunch. My favorite menu addition? The Five-Blossom-Bread which is basically just a soft pub pretzel with beer cheese sauce. You get two small/medium sized portions along with the dipping sauce. This worked well for us for a light lunch and a quick drink before we went back to riding attractions.

Oga's Cantina Reservations

We dine at Oga's Cantina frequently on our trips to both Disneyland and Walt Disney World. For this Oga's Cantina review, I was in a large group of Star Wars fans so dining at Oga's Cantina twice was a must! One reservation we did midday around noon and the other for 10pm which impacted the atmosphere quite a bit at Disneyland. During our earlier Oga's Cantina reservation, most of the guests were families and there were plenty of children around. When we went back for the 10PM reservation, it was mostly adults and the atmosphere was a bit more rowdy but still plenty child friendly.

The check in process for Oga's Cantina is fairly simple but you may be waiting in a line waiting for your spot even if you show up at your reservation time if you visit during a busy time of the year. If your reservation is during the day, expect to be waiting in the sun although Disney has tried to put up umbrella stands to create some shade. See the check in process below for our Oga's Cantina review.

Once you find Oga's Cantina, not far from the Falcon, you will join the line outside the entrance. Once you're in line a cast member will come and ask your name on the reservation and begin the check in process.

For our midday reservation in Star Wars land around noon, the line looked like this when we arrived. We only waited about 15 minutes to enter though!

Each party member of your group will be given cards to give to the cast member at the entrance when it's time to enter.

There are also Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge Oga's Cantina menus at this stand to look over but you will have a chance to take your time to look over the menus once you enter too with the standard QR code or you can ask for a physical menu.

The cast member may ask if you want to wait for a booth. We were asked this on our second reservation and because we didn't feel like waiting, we declined. But if a booth is important for your group, be advised that there are not many and you may want to show up early to wait for one. You will likely be sharing this booth with other groups so keep that in mind!

DJ Rex at Star Wars Bar

Be sure to catch a look at DJ Rex!

Easily the best place to sit at Oga's Cantina is a spot within easy view of DJ Rex. You can also request this when you check in, if you don't mind waiting! My first reservation we were at a standing room table that all six of us comfortably fit around directly in front of the DJ booth. For the second reservation we were seated at the bar which was a bit challenging in terms of standing area and room for the two kids in our group. But the experience at the bar was notably cool because we got to interact more with the Oga bartenders whom were all fantastically in character.

Between both of our visits in our group of six people, we tried most of the options on the menu! My favorite drink of choice at Oga's Cantina is the Fuzzy Tauntaun because I'm more of a fan of sweet drinks and my teen prefers the Hyperdrive Punch because it reminds him of Mountain Dew.

Star Wars Bar Disneyland Drinks

Our entire group managed to try nearly all the options on the menu making for a good selection of drink pictures for my Oga's Cantina review!

Fuzzy Tauntaun- the foam on the top makes your lips and tongue go numb and tingle!

Slug Slinger

Jedi Mind Trick

Jet Juice

Blue Bantha-Non-Alcoholic

Yub Nub

Hyperdrive (Punch It!)- Non-Alcoholic

Gold Squadron Lager

Hands down, nearly everyone in our group said the Fuzzy Tauntaun was their favorite. It was my favorite because of the taste- it reminded me of a fruity cocktail which are my go to drinks. Everyone else liked it because of the foam that made your lips and tongue numb and tingle which was one of the most unique properties of the drinks offered. Because of the great taste and unique experience, this is my top alcoholic drink recommendation for my Oga's Cantina review.

My son tried both the Blue Bantha and the Hyperdrive from the non-alcoholic drinks. I loved the Blue Bantha (cold blue milk!) and would definitely order that again. He loved the Hyperdrive but they were quite small- he was easily able to down two of them in less than 30 minutes. The Blue Bantha is a good choice to keep kids entertained with the cookies that come on top so they have more time to enjoy it.

The only drink that got a grimace from our group was the Slug Slinger. Because of the mixture of tequila, ginger, and bitters I have a feeling that one might be for those that really enjoy tequila. Or are looking for something with a kick in their Disneyland day. In fact, all of the drinks were plenty strong so I felt the price ($15-$18 per drink) was worth it. The Yub Nub was definitely stronger than the Fuzzy Tauntaun- I wasn't even able to finish both of them in the 45 minutes we were allowed in because of that. But I'm also not a big drinker so two drinks in 45 minutes is a bit much for me! Read more about the Oga's Cantina menu on Disneyland's website.

Here's some videos of our experience to get an idea of what the atmosphere is like:

If you're lucky enough to hear this famous little song, be prepared to watch the Cantina explode with excitement!

To answer one question for my Oga's Cantina review, the 45 minute time limit was really no big deal. By the time it was close for our 45 minutes to be up, we were ready to move on to enjoy other things in the area. It felt like the perfect amount of time. Our servers were really attentive and we had no issues ordering our second round of drinks. The best service we definitely got was at the bar- she even offered to take our picture of our group which was appreciated.

Are Children Allowed in Oga's Cantina?

My son at age nine enjoying Oga's Cantina

Yes, children are allowed in Oga's Cantina! This is not a 21+ bar and is meant to be family friendly. The noise level is definitely high in Oga's Cantina and for smaller children that don't like loud noises this can be a problem. Because of this, it may be wise to make your reservation earlier in the day if you have kids in your group so they're not trying to deal with it at the end of the day when they're already tired. One of the kids in our group was pretty exhausted by the end of the day and the noise bothered him at first when we entered for the second reservation.

My son is also not impressed with Oga's Cantina if he has to stand so when we visit just the two of us, we always ask for a booth and wait. I don't think kids are as patient to stand as adults can be so that's also something to consider.

Overall, I would recommend Oga's Cantina for all age groups. It is definitely kid friendly and my now teenage son has had a blast there since it opened when he was nine! If you can, try to request a spot near DJ Rex if you don't get one on the first try. I felt our experience was that much better because each time we were in easy view of him.

Is Oga's Cantina Worth It?

Based on my frequent visits at Oga's Cantina at both Disneyland and Walt Disney World since it opened, yes I think Oga's Cantina is absolutely worth it! Even if you are not interested in drinking alcohol at Disney, this Star Wars bar is a great experience for all everyone in your group including kids.
