Two Disneyland Rides & Favorite Restaurant CLOSURES Added to Refurbishment Schedule

A new batch of Disneyland ride closures has been announced for early 2025. Disneyland will commonly schedule ride refurbishments during the slower times of the year like January and February to gear up for the busy Spring Break season, and this year, the big 70th-anniversary celebration coming up in May.

In early 2025, there are a few standard seasonal closures on the calendar as well as some extended refurbishments that are expected to last several months. It's always a good idea to stay up-to-date on all of the Disneyland refurbishments that are upcoming so that you are not caught off guard during your trip!

Below, we will share details on the Disneyland ride closures that have been added to the calendar for early 2025 as well as one of our favorite restaurants.

A couple of new ride closures have been added to the calendar for Disneyland, including the Disneyland Railroad which was previously closed in the fall to replace sections of the track. This will be a longer closure for them to finish this work before Disneyland's 70th anniversary celebration kicks off in a few months.

Scott Gustin on X shared that “The Disneyland Railroad will be closed beginning Jan. 13 as crews continue work to replace sections of the track. Disneyland says train operations will resume in the spring and in time for the start of Disneyland's 70th anniversary celebration on May 16.”

Disneyland Monorail Esplanade

A closure has also been announced for the Disneyland Monorail, which will be closing on January 6, 2025 for refurbishment and does not yet have a reopening date listed.

The day after the Christmas celebration ends at Disneyland, one of our top Mickey Visit Disneyland restaurants, Jolly Holiday Bakery Cafe, will be closing for refurbishment. This is one of our go-to places to grab a meal throughout the year, especially due to its exciting seasonal menu. Right now the location is offering some fun Christmas foods, including one of our favorite Disneyland Christmas foods we tried! There has not yet been an end date announced for this favorite Disneyland restaurant closure.

Grizzly River Run is another early 2025 closure that was recently announced. This closure is standard as the ride will commonly close during the winter months when temperatures are a bit cooler. Grizzly River Run closes starting on January 6, 2025, and no reopening date has been listed yet for the ride.

You can see our full Disneyland refurbishments guide for a full list of all of the closures that are scheduled for the parks, including one seasonal closure that is extending longer than usual and the reopening date of Haunted Mansion after it closes to remove the holiday overlay.
