Mobile Ordering at Disneyland Guide! Order Food From the Disneyland App

Disneyland Mobile Ordering is now a critical piece of your Disneyland dining experience. If you successfully utilize the Disneyland app to mobile order food in the parks you can optimize your trip and avoid waiting in lines for food at almost all quick service restaurants and walk up locations (you will still have to wait in line for churros).

The Disneyland Mobile Ordering process takes place in the Disneyland mobile phone app. Guests choose a pickup window for a dining location in the park, place their order, and then, once it is within the pickup window time slot, the guest will click the “Prepare My Order” button and the food will be prepared fresh just for you. The process really is very slick and once you know how to use it well makes your trip experience just that much better.

New Disneyland Mobile Order Interface Just Launched

On April 3, 2023 Disney updated the Mobile Order interface for Disneyland and Walt Disney World. The app now has new helpful filters with options to filter by general location, what is available now, and an easier clear option to schedule your Disney mobile food orders for later. The new interface is now live in both apps.

This is an intuitive change that makes a lot of sense. The easy ability to see what isn't available and to cut to the specific park more clearly is a nice addition. As you'll read further into this guide, I am a big fan of Mobile Order at Disneyland and Walt Disney World. This helps to add further ease of use to the service. Often you'll be in the parks doing 100 things at once and trying to get a food order in at the same time. This helps with that process.

Now, let's dive into how to actually use mobile order at Disneyland…

How to Use Mobile Ordering at Disneyland

Below I list all of the restaurants at Disneyland and Disney California Adventure that accept mobile orders. That information is easily accessible there and within the Disneyland app. Disney has expanded the list of locations over time to include more and more options like the recent addition of the Candy Palace on Main Street to Disneyland mobile ordering. The list sometimes also varies by time of day. Some of the most popular restaurants will turn off mobile ordering at the most peak times or if there is a kitchen backup.

Now, let's dive into the simple step by step process to mobile order in the Disneyland app. It's super user friendly and easy to use which is one of the best parts! Here is a step by step guide on how to use Mobile Ordering at Disneyland to help you maximize your time and spend less time waiting in line.

Step One: Choose Your Restaurant and Arrival Time with the App

In order to use Mobile Ordering at Disneyland, you need to have the mobile app on your phone in order to use this service. The app is free and it really is an essential part of experiencing Disneyland efficiently- you can download it here. Disney does offer free Wi-Fi but the service can be hit or miss. Make sure you're prepared for that!

So you can find the mobile ordering feature by clicking the + icon at the bottom of the screen and it will bring up a menu as you can see below:

Click on ‘Order Food' and this will take you the list of restaurants that offer Mobile Ordering at Disneyland. Now you are brought to a new screen that allows you to choose a restaurant that offers Mobile Ordering:

Now select the restaurant of your choice and your return window. The return window is basically the time you want to be able to pick up your food.

Step Two: Pick Your Food and Place Your Order!

Your next step is to pick your food! The app does have the option of adding changes or allergy notes which is great!

Tap the food items that you want and this will bring you to a second page and with some items (burger/sandwiches/etc) where you can ask for modifications (like no onions, hold the cheese, etc.):

 

Go ahead and select the number of items you want and then click ‘add' to add it to your order. Easy peasy!

Once you're finished with your order, you will be taken to the order summary page where you can review your order and the cost. If you're a Magic Key Holder holder, this is where you will automatically see your pass discount applied.

If everything looks good, just tap ‘Purchase' and you'll be good to go! Make sure that you have a credit/debit card linked to your Disney account otherwise the app will prompt you to add one.

NEW: You can now use Disney gift cards for mobile ordering! The app won't save your gift card number so I recommend saving it in the Notes app on your phone so you can just copy/paste it in each time. Click here for how to save money on Disney gift cards.

Step Three: Picking Up Your Order

So now you're ready for the final step- picking up your food! Once you arrive at the restaurant, pull up the Disney app, and tap on the ‘I'm Here, Prepare My Order' prompt that will show up on your home screen.

Your order won't be made until you arrive and tap this button so no worries about your food being made too far in advance and sitting out to get old.

Every restaurant that offers Mobile Ordering will have a clear sign that says ‘Mobile Ordering'- once your order is ready, your app will buzz, and you can head to the counter to pick up your food.

You can also cancel a Mobile Order or change the arrival window easily through the app so if you get held up or change your mind- no worries!

Disneyland Mobile Ordering Tips to Make Most of Service

With the ease of access of Disneyland mobile order, there are a couple of tips that you should consider to improve your Disneyland day.

1. Consider when you will be hungry and what restaurants you want to enjoy during your day earlier in the morning. As the day goes on, the arrival window for restaurants, especially around key pickup window times, will get further and further out from the time that you are ordering. Once you are thinking about food, put the mobile order in. You can begin ordering food at 8 am (sometimes earlier) from anywhere. You do not have to be scanned into the park yet.
2. You can always cancel a mobile order or push back the time without any penalty. It is better to put the order in and then cancel it rather than to get to a period where you are hungry and not have your options selected.

Mobile Ordering Layout for the Disneyland App

Disneyland is constantly working to make the guest experience better and they recently improved the mobile ordering on the Disneyland app to be easier to navigate for guests.

Disney released a new update to the app with easier navigation and an improved design with fun, colorful icons and even more photos of the menu items. They also made it easier for guests with allergies or dietary restrictions to find options that work for them at the participating locations.

As you can see above, you can now navigate with those icons to easily find snacks, desserts, entrees, or allergy/dietary friendly options. Make sure to update your Disneyland app to see the new changes!

It always pains me to see guests waiting in the large line that stretches through Adventureland when they can easily use Mobile Ordering and pick up their Dole Whips (on the side facing the Enchanted Tiki Room) in minutes.
