Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge Characters at Disneyland, Walt Disney World

Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge has a range of characters roaming the land and Disney has begun the similar tradition we've seen at Avengers Campus with bringing in new characters to celebrate Disney+ show releases. Previously, we have seen the Mandalorian and Grogu introduced to the land (more on this below!) along with characters from the Book of Boba Fett including the famed bounty hunter himself.

Keep reading for the latest Star Wars character announcements and a full list of all the characters you can find in Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge.

As a huge Star Wars fan that attends the big Star Wars events like Star Wars Celebration, Star Wars Nite, and visits Disneyland and Walt Disney World frequently, I an always thrilled to see further characters incorporated into the Disney Parks.

Sabrine Wren for Season of the ForceSabine Wren

Sabine Wren is making appearances in Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge at Disneyland during Season of the Force. Sabine Wren is a popular character that originally made her debut in the animated hit series Star Wars Rebels. Sabine Wren was brought to live action for the first time in the Disney+ series Ahsoka along with her favorite characters like Ahsoka herself, Ezra Bridger, and Anakin Skywalker.

I think this is another good sign we're seeing the timeline of the land lifted which could lead to MORE Star Wars characters.

Ahsoka at DisneylandStar Wars Characters Ahsoka

Ahsoka has been greeting guests at Disneyland in Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge. She was brought into the parks during the premiere date of the new Ahsoka show on Disney+ which was one of the most anticipated Star Wars projects we've seen since the Mandalorian!

Ahsoka is a beloved character in the Star Wars universe and originally made her debut on the animated television show Clone Wars and then was featured in Star Wars Rebels. She has since made her live-action debut in The Mandalorian played by Rosario Dawson. I personally am beyond thrilled to see her inclusion at Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge.

Mandalorian and Grogu Star Wars characters Mandalorian

The Mandalorian and Grogu (Baby Yoda) from the Mandalorian have made appearances at both Disneyland and Walt Disney World. These characters have been popular which only further proves that relaxing the rigid rules around the timeline of Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge is a wise move that fans appreciate.

You can see a video from their appearance at Disneyland below:

General Hera Syndulla

General Hera Syndulla from Star Wars Rebels and Ahsoka was available in the Fall 2023 at Galaxy’s Edge in Disneyland Park

Hera recently appeared in live action for the first time in the highly anticipated Ahsoka series, and it is so exciting that she will be coming to Disneyland. Be sure to stop by and see her!

You can see Hera in the announcement video from Disney Parks below, with her mischievous droid “Chopper” trailing after her:

Other characters that have made appearances in Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge include the introduction of Bounty hunter Boba Fett and mercenary Fennec Shand from the Book of Bobba Fett. Although Boba Fett is better known for his role as the bounty hunter that tracked Han Solo in the original Star Wars trilogy.

Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge Timeline

Star Wars Rise of the Resistance

These changes mark a larger change to the way the land is being managed when it comes to Disney characters. Previously, the land was completely in world for the most recent set of films which means guests see Kylo Ren and the new version of stormtroopers rather than Darth Vader and his Imperial Guard stalking through the land. In the “correct” timeline for Galaxy's Edge, Darth Vader has already been killed. If Disney had stuck completely to this in-world logic they would not be able to add in these fan-favorite character pairings as they are largely off timeline from the canon of the current world.

We have long been advocates of seeing the rigid rules of Galaxy's Edge relaxed a little bit so that we can see more of our favorite classic characters roaming the land. This has been one of the main critiques of the land since it opened – not enough classic Star Wars in addition to the newer aspects of the franchise. I don't think that 95% of guests will make a distinction once this change is made and will only be glad that they could finally now run into their favorite characters roaming the parks. A mischievous band of Ewoks or Jar Jar Binks anyone?

Disney has stated that “characters will remain in their specific story and timeline and won't intersect with other characters or stories that would not be appropriate for them.” We have seen this take place with the careful placing of these characters in the land to not interact with others that might contradict their storylines.

Star Wars Characters in Star Wars: Galaxy's EdgeRey Chewbacca Star Wars characters

Aside from the newly announced characters connected to Disney+ shows, there are a set grouping of roaming characters in Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge. These characters do not sign autographs and often just pose briefly for photos before moving to their next location so you have to be quick to get a good photo with them.

R2D2 Star Wars Galaxys Edge

On the Resistance team of characters, you can expect to see Rey, Chewbecca, Vi Moradi, and R2-D2. The interactions Rey has with the kids are so much fun as you'll see her leading a small group as they sneak around to avoid capture by the First Order. Chewbacca you can find strolling through all parts of the land ready to give big furry hugs and scold you if you're wearing a Stormtrooper shirt.

Star Wars Vi Moradi

Vi Moradi

Vi Moradi is a newer character in the Star Wars universe and was first introduced in the 2017 novel Phasma which dives into Captain Phasma's backstory. If you're lucky enough to bump into her in the land she'll tell you that she's a spy for the Resistance sent to Batuu by General Organa (also known as Princess Leia) and she will constantly be on the lookout to avoid stormtroopers.

On the First Order team of characters, you can expect to see an assortment of stormtroopers along with Kylo Ren and other First Order generals. They are on the constant lookout for the Rebel Spy (Rey) and it can be fun watching them chase her around the land. If you're lucky, they might stop for a ‘photo scan' if you can catch up to them.

These guys are delightful as they roam around staying so true to their character and scolding guests for any rebel affiliations they might be displaying on their clothing.

Throughout the day you can also catch a brief show in front of Kylo Ren's TIE fighter on the First Order side of the land. If you happen to be walking by when this starts, it's worth stopping to take it in.
