Avengers Campus in Disneyland‘s California Adventure has consistently offered various character interactions since its opening at the park. You can expect to see at least one character featured in the land for a limited time after a new movie or Disney+ show debuts. In addition to limited-time Avengers Campus characters, there are also a variety of consistent character interactions in the park featuring some of the most popular Marvel heroes.

Avengers Campus Limited Time Character Meet and Greets
Disney has introduced limited-time character interactions for every new Marvel film or Disney+ show at Avengers Campus. This has been a fun way to celebrate the new Marvel films and Disney+ shows. Usually, the new character meet and greet will debut right when the film or show first opens.
The Marvels Appearing Now at Avengers Campus!
Carol Danvers, Kamala Khan, and Captain Monica Rambeau are now meeting guests in Avengers Campus as The Marvels.
This is in honor of the new The Marvels film which is now playing in theaters.
Loki and O.B. Appearing in Avengers Campus For a Limited Time
Loki Season Two debuted on Disney+ on October 5th and like with any new show, we have characters in Avengers Campus to celebrate!
Loki and O.B. are now making appearances for a limited time!

Nick Fury
Guests can encounter the iconic S.H.I.E.L.D. operative Nick Fury at Avengers Campus in Disney California Adventure for a limited time. Fury will recruit guests to “practice the art of espionage” in a brand new interactive experience. See the announcement from Disney below:

Nick Fury continues his journey in Secret Invasion, currently streaming on Disney+, where he learns of a secret invasion by a faction of Skrulls and joins forces with Everett Ross, Maria Hill, and Talos to save humanity.
Be sure to meet Fury during this limited-time encounter and hear his insight as he recruits younger guests to join S.H.I.E.L.D. and take an oath to defend our planet!
Baby Groot Animatronic Testing at Avengers Campus
Disneyland has confirmed that they are conducting play tests of an animatronic Baby Groot! Select theme park guests are chosen at random to be invited to a short presentation.
This playtest includes a special show of the Guardians of the Galaxy: Awesome Dance-Off featuring the new baby Groot animatronic.
Since this tech is already being playtested, I imagine we'll see more of baby Groot soon in Avengers Campus.
Mantis Joining “Guardians of the Galaxy: Awesome Dance-Off!”
Mantis will be featured in the “Guardians of the Galaxy: Awesome Dance Off!” outside the Guardians of the Galaxy – Mission: BREAKOUT! This new character opportunity is being brought to Avengers Campus to celebrate the newest Guardians of the Galaxy film.
Located in Disney California Adventure's Avenger's Campus, this interactive dance show with rock-and-roll classics typically features Peter and Gamora, but Mantis will be making an appearance for a limited time as well.

Limited-time Avengers Campus characters have included:
- Kang the Conqueror
- Ms. Marvel
- Clint Barton and Kate Bishop
- Moon Knight
- America Chavez
- The Scarlet Witch
- M'Baku
- Shang-Chi
- The Eternals- Sersi, Kingo, and Phastos
- Agatha Harkness- Oogie Boogie Bash only
- Zombie Captain America- Oogie Boogie Bash only
- Werewolf by Night- during the Halloween season
You can still see some of these characters but they are not guaranteed as most of them have been featured strictly as limited-time meet-and-greets. The Scarlet Witch (Wanda) still makes appearances due to the character's popularity and there's usually a lineup of characters for Halloween.
Avengers Campus Characters during Halloween
During the Halloween season at Disneyland, you can find special characters that coordinate with the spooky season. If characters also align with current Marvel projects then that's even better! During the 2022 Halloween season at Disneyland, the werewolf from Werewolf at Night, appeared in the land during the evening to surprise guests from a distance.
Oogie Boogie Bash, the ticketed Halloween party at California Adventure, has featured a special trick-or-treat trail the past years dedicated to Agatha Harkness from Wandavision. This was such a fun character interaction with Agatha having some choice words for guests dressed as the Scarlet Witch. Next to her stage, there was also a tombstone reading “Here Lies Sparky.” Fans of Wandavision will love this interaction. At times during Oogie Boogie Bash, zombie Captain America will also make unannounced appearances. This character interaction is a bit trickier to find while Agatha was a guaranteed character as part of a trick-or-treat trail.
Avengers Campus Character Interactions
There is a list of frequent Avengers Campus characters which usually guarantees you will see some, if not all, of these heroes on your visit. The most common Avengers Campus characters include:
- Spider-Man
- Ant-Man (he may have a shrunken Bugs Land to show you!)
- The Wasp
- Iron Man
- Thor
- Loki (his outfit changes based on the Disney+ show Loki)
- Captain America
- Captain Marvel
- Doctor Strange
- Black Widow
- Black Panther
- General Okoye and the Dora Milaje
- Star-Lord
- Gamora
- The Hulk in his Quantum Suit
The characters in the land are not constrained to specific meet-and-greet areas and instead roam the land providing a heroic atmosphere. The character interaction is similar to the style of Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge with characters weaving through the crowds and interacting with guests.
How To Find Avengers Campus Characters?
Most of Avengers Campus characters roam about freely but some of the characters tend to hang around certain areas in the land. Spider-Man often meets guests in the same area while other characters may roam about.
Spider-Man's meet-and-greet happens in the graffiti area by the main entrance to the WEB Slingers attraction. He will often do character interactions right after the Spider-Man stunt show.
Other areas you can hang around to find Avengers Campus characters include:
- The Sanctum
- Avengers Headquarters
- The balcony of Avengers Headquarters
- Near the Quinjet
- General Okoye and the Dora Milaje's training session takes place in the middle of the land
- Outside of Guardians of the Galaxy: Mission – BREAKOUT!
- Near the path to Cars Land
You will see Avengers Campus characters interacting in various stunt shows in the land, more on this below!
Avengers Campus Stunt Shows
On the Avengers Headquarters building, there are stunt acts throughout the day. You might see Black Panther, Black Widow or Captain America face off against a dangerous foe like Taskmaster (the villain from the Black Widow movie.) When stunt shows aren't taking place, you can also see various Marvel characters waving at guests.
The stunt shows happen frequently throughout the day so you will likely see one if you spend some time in the land. We found that sitting across at Pym's Test Kitchen gave us a great view so we could eat while we watched the various stunt shows take place.
Some of the characters you can find atop Avengers Headquarters include:
- Iron Man
- Black Panther
- Captain Marvel
- Black Widow
- Thor
- Doctor Strange
- Ant-Man
- The Wasp
- Guardians of the Galaxy
You can also take a selfie with these characters, if they see you trying to take a picture they will pose!
Warriors of Wakanda: The Disciplines of the Dora Milaje
In front of Avengers Headquarters guests can train with the loyal bodyguards from Black Panther, the Dora Milaje, to learn what it is like being an elite royal guard. The training is led by Okoye and happens periodically throughout the morning and afternoon. Check the Disneyland app for the current times for your visit.
Dr. Strange: Mysteries of the Mystic Arts
Starting afternoon and going through the evening you can watch this Dr. Strange themed show at the Sanctum in Avengers Campus. This is a popular show so I recommend checking the Disneyland app for current time and lining up at least 45 minutes before it starts. This show will look cooler at night so wait until after sunset for the best experience! Check the Disneyland app for the current times for your visit.
Spider-Man at Avengers Campus
Above the WEB building, Spider-Man soars through the air at 60-65 feet before dropping down to interact with guests. This incredible stunt figure is one of the highlights of the Avengers Campus characters.
This is also the same area you can get photo ops with Spider-Man! He will usually meet guests right after the show ends. As you can see below, you can get a pretty good picture of him because of the elevated platform he poses on!
You HAVE TO WATCH THIS VIDEO! It is difficult to explain how cool the Spider-Man stunt figure is.
Check the Disneyland app for the current times for your visit- you can grab a spot before the show before it begins and be ready to jump in line to meet Spider-Man afterward!
Guardians of the Galaxy: Awesome Dance Off!
You can find this awesome dance party in front of the Guardians of the Galaxy-Mission: BREAKOUT! attraction to meet three Avengers Campus characters. The nice thing about this character interaction is it always has consistent times listed on the Disneyland app since it is considered a show.
Star-Lord, Groot, and Gamora lead a dance party and everyone is welcome to join! Kids love this interaction so don’t miss it if you have little Marvel fans that want to meet Avengers Campus characters! Check the Disneyland app for the current times for your visit.
You can find all the times for the entertainment and Avengers Campus character appearances in the Disneyland app so I recommend checking it throughout the day!
You often don't have to plan too hard around the entertainment in Avengers Campus since it happens so frequently. Just spend an hour or so in the land and you will see Avengers Campus characters.
