Disneyland Star Wars Nite 2024 Dates, Details, Prices – Plus REVIEW from Party Last Year

Star War Nites at Disneyland is a part of the Disneyland After Dark set of events. These special themed nights are after-hours parties that allow guests to enjoy special themed entertainment.

These are separate ticket events that take place on a select number of nights each year. The event features unique Star Wars entertainment and characters you won't find at other times of the year and the opportunity to experience attractions all around Disneyland Park.

I have been to Star Wars Nites at Disneyland have have tips below based on my past personal experience. We will also be returning to the event this year to capture more tips and photos to share.

Disney has now shared a look at some of the offerings coming for the 2024 event and details on ticket sales coming soon. Plus, one popular offering we said was our highlight last year looks like it won't be returning. We just attended the first night of this special event for 2024. Check out our 2024 Star Wars Nites REVIEW here.

When are Star Wars Nites at Disneyland in 2024?

Captain Phasma and Stormtroopers

In 2024, there are excitingly more Star Wars Nite event nights being offered than ever before! See the dates that have been announced for 2024 below.

Star Wars Nites will take place April 16, 18, 23, 25, 30, May 2, 7 & 9, 2024 at Disneyland Park. This will be during the Season of the Force celebration happening at Disneyland, which you can read more about in our guide. Last year the parties took place from 9 pm to 1 am and guests were able to enter the parks up to three hours before the parties start to mix-in with other park guests.

There are a variety of other Disneyland After Dark events that take place throughout the winter and spring months at Disneyland. You can read about all the events in our general Disneyland After Dark events guide!

Disneyland Star Wars Nites Tickets on Sale Info

Star Wars Nite at Disneyland

Disneyland has shared more information on the Disneyland Star Wars Nites ticket sales cost. There will be a pre-sale for Magic Key Annual Passholders and a new feature to help reduce the anxiety of waiting in a long virtual queue all day.

For the first time, the Inspire Magic Key holders will have a separate first chance to purchase tickets on pre-sale. This special Inspire presale will be held on Tuesday, Feb. 20, 2024, no earlier than 9 am Pacific time. There is a select amount of pre-sale tickets set aside for this pass level.

Then, there will be another round of Magic Key holder pre-sales for the remainder of all ticket holders on Wednesday, Feb. 21, and Feb. 22. There will also be a select amount of pre-sale tickets here.

Then there will be a general ticket sale on Friday, Feb. 23 no earlier than 9 am PT.

For the first time, Disney is introducing a “notify me” option for those who are waiting in an online queue to purchase Star Wars Nites tickets. You may have the option to be digitally notified when it is your time to enter the store.

Once in the queue, you'll be able to choose “notify me” and then enter your email address. You will then receive an email letting you know it's your turn to return to the waiting room to enter the store to purchase tickets. From the time when your turn begins, you'll have 10 minutes to use the link to enter the store.

This is a great move by Disney to introduce the “notify me” option for purchasing tickets however I don't know if we would recommend using it this first time around. Emails could easily be sent to junk by accident or that server could crash. The key takeaway here – it's a good thing Disney is playing with improving this process and hopefully it has a positive impact here and more importantly gets them ready for Oogie Boogie Bash Halloween Party ticket sales.

What Does a Disneyland Star Wars Nite Ticket Include?

Sleeping Beauty Castle Star Wars Nite

Disney has now released the below information on Star Wars Nites for 2024.

A ticket to Star Wars Nite at Disneyland includes early admission to Disneyland before the party starts. Admission for party guests into the park begins as early as 6 pm PT. No park reservations are required. The party actually starts at 9 pm PT.

Here are the highlights for 2024! Scroll down for all of the food items that have been announced so far for this event.

Those wearing Star Wars costumes are invited to participate in a special cavalcade down Main Street with Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse. Hopefully in Star Wars costumes themselves!

The cavalcade will culminate in a group photo in front of a galactically lit Sleeping Beauty Castle as seen below. This is a highlight of the event and super fun to see everyone in their incredible Star Wars costumes!

One of our favorite offerings from the past – the Star Wars Jedi Training Academy – looks like it is returning in some form. At the party there'll be a Star Wars Nite Lightsaber Instructional at “it’s a small world” mall. Bring your own lightsaber. Guests will be introduced to all-new maneuvers specially crafted for this year’s recruits.

There will be a Galactic Dance Party with a Master DJ on Main Street, U.S.A.

Just like last year there will be a lightsabers gathering at the Millennium Falcon. This mass of lightsabers is amazing and one of our top highlights.

Captain Phasma and her Stormtroopers will also return and appear in Tomorrowland. They quickly march through and sweep the area and intimidate guests with cool music and lighting effects, ending with Captain Phasma giving a warning to all who support the Resistance.

March of the First Order

Special exclusive Star Wars characters will be out in the parks in what Disney is teasing as “multiple Star Wars-themed photo opportunities, featuring some new places and faces from across the Star Wars universe!” We will cover this in more detail in the sections below!

Last year the Star Wars night at Disneyland also featured a special Star Wars fireworks show that took place at 9:30 PM but that does not appear to be returning during the special event this year. That said, there will be a special Star Wars fireworks addition in Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge during regular park hours as part of Season of the Force.

Unlike some of the other Disneyland After Dark parties, the Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance attraction will be open for guests during this after-hours party. You'll find lots of other attractions open in the parks too, like Hyperspace Mountain and Star Tours – the Adventures Continue with its new additions.

Star Tours Disneyland

Guests will also receive a commemorative credential and guide map as well as unlimited downloads of Disney PhotoPass digital photos taken during the party. (Credentials and maps are limited to one per ticketed person.)

You'll also find Star Wars-themed eats and treats, merchandise, photo opportunities, and more.

Star Wars costumes are encouraged though guests will still have to follow the Disneyland costume policy.

  • Figrin D'An and the Modal Nodes
    • Rivers of America

Figrin D'an and the Modal Nodes

My second favorite entertainment option from this list (behind the fireworks which don't appear to be happening this year) was the Lightsaber Meetup in Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge. This meetup was so nice to see Disney organize as fans have been having their own unofficial lightsaber meet-ups for some time now.

What Rides Are Open During Star Wars Nites?

Disneyland rides ranked Rise of the Resistance

During Star Wars Nites at Disneyland, many rides are open for all guests. We know for certain that Disneyland plans to operate the Star Wars rides which include Star Tours – The Adventures Continue, Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run and Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance. They also explicitly state that Critter Country, Mickey’s Toontown including Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway, Sailing Ship Columbia may not be available during the event.

Beyond this, expect many other classic attractions to be operating throughout the night including those in Tomorrowland, Fantasyland, Adventureland, and Frontierland.

Typically during the other Disneyland After Dark events many attractions throughout Disneyland are open for all guests. Generally Rise of the Resistance is not open, but because this is a Star Wars-themed event it is open during Star Wars Nites.

Many of the photo ops become available before the party officially started- some with a PhotoPass photographer already taking photos! If you frequent the areas where some of these photo ops are set up, chances are you can get a photo early without a long line.

Star Wars CharactersDisneyland After Dark

In our experience, the most popular characters are easily the Ewoks! If they are at the top of your list you better prepare for a long line. During our Star Wars Nite experience we waited nearly two hours to meet them!

Star Wars Nite

A good rule of thumb for most After Dark events- the most rare characters will easily be some of the most popular.

Disneyland After Dark: Star Wars Nite Tips & Review from Last Year!Disneyland After Dark

We experienced the event Disneyland After Dark: Star Wars Nite and we learned a lot about how to navigate after dark events regardless of what the current theme is.

Your ticket to the Disneyland After Dark event includes admission to Disneyland starting at 6PM. Take advantage of this early entry and be prepared at the park gates! We had a bit of a line to contend with arriving right at 6PM so in hindsight next time we'd arrive at least 30 minutes prior to the event time to get a good spot.

The Disneyland After Dark events technically only last four hours as they're scheduled to officially begin at 9PM and end at 1AM. That is not a lot of time to try and fit in all the activities that are offered! We knew from the get go that we weren't going to be able to do it all so we made a list of priorities with our top two being the special fireworks and the lightsaber meet up in Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge. After that, we focused on our top favorite characters we wanted to see. But be warned- character lines will often be the longest lines you will experience since these events are often when Disneyland rolls out all the limited characters!

Disneyland After Dark

If we weren't interested in the fireworks, this would have been a great time to meet characters instead as many guests of the party were watching the fireworks in front of the castle. So you can see the process of weighing your must dos!

Disneyland After Dark

Some popular characters (the Ewoks were hands down the most popular!) had lines forming even before the event officially began which was a smart move for some guests, they were right in line when the event already began.

The attractions were nearly all walk ons with the exception of the Star Wars attractions (it was Star Wars Nite!) so we did walk on to a few rides as we went about our evening. In fact, for some guests purchasing a Disneyland After Dark event ticket might be worth it just to experience rides with no waits!

Disneyland Star Wars Nite

Overall, we had a great experience at our Disneyland After Dark event. We weren't able to do everything we wanted to but we decided in advance what our top priorities were and managed them quite well.

We mobile ordered food before the party began which allowed us to skip any long food line waits. If a Disneyland After Dark event takes place during your next vacation, I'd recommend checking it out whether you're going for the specific theme or just utilizing the no wait times for rides!

  1. Any estimates on when Star Wars Night tickets for 2024 might go on sale?

  2. Curious how the Star Wars nite works if we will already be in the park that day. Do we have to re enter at 6 or 9?

    • If you are already in the parks you should be able to pick up a wristband within the parks that day to avoid having to exit and reenter.

  3. We will already be in the park for the day and have purchased Star Wars Night tickets for that evening. Do we need to leave and re-enter at 6pm? Or, can we check in earlier??
Thx for any insight you may have! So excited!!!

  4. Thank you, Lindsay!
