What Does a Disneyland Star Wars Nite Ticket Include?

A ticket to Star Wars Nite at Disneyland includes early admission to Disneyland before the party starts. Admission for party guests into the park begins as early as 6 pm PT. No park reservations are required.

The themed Star Wars night at Disneyland also features a special Star Wars fireworks show that features iconic Star Wars music.

Unlike some of the other Disneyland After Dark parties, the Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance attraction will be open for guests during this after-hours party. You’ll find lots of other attractions open in the parks too.

Special exclusive Star Wars characters will be out in the parks. Last year we loved seeing the Ewoks. Characters mentioned already for the 2023 event include Captain Phasma and her Stormtroopers appearing in Tomorrowland and the Tusken Raider and Jawas.

There will also be a lightsaber instructional demonstration where you’ll learn to handle a lightsaber through a series of elite moves to bring out your inner Jedi.

Guests will also receive a commemorative credential and guide map as well as unlimited downloads of Disney PhotoPass digital photos taken during the party. (Credentials and maps are limited to one per ticketed person.)

You’ll also find Star Wars-themed eats and treats, merchandise, photo opportunities, and more.

Star Wars costumes are encouraged though guests will still have to follow the Disneyland costume policy.

Star Wars Nite Entertainment

The main entertainment showstopper is the Star Wars themed fireworks which take place at 9:30PM. This is definitely the not miss event of the evening! Star Wars fans will love this fireworks show. My favorite part was easily the snippet featuring Duel of Fates. The fans in the crowd went wild for this- myself included!

But the fireworks are such a big draw that you can easily use this time to take advantage of shorter character lines!

Other notable entertainment options include:

  • Galactic DJ Party Zone
    • Main Street, U.S.A.
  • Fleet of Fandom
    • Main Street, U.S.A.
  • Lightsaber Meetup
    • Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge
  • March of First Order
    • Tomorrowland
  • Lightsaber Masters
    • Fantasyland

My second favorite entertainment option from this list was the Lightsaber Meetup in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge. This meetup was so nice to see Disney organize as fans have been having their own unofficial lightsaber meet ups for some time now.

Star Wars Nite Photo OpsStar Wars Nite

Many of the photo ops become available before the party officially started- some with a PhotoPass photographer already taking photos! If you frequent the areas where some of these photo ops are set up, chances are you can get a photo early without a long line.

Here are this year’s Star Wars Nite photo ops:

  • Mythosaur Skull
    • Frontierland
  • Speeder Bikes
    • Critter Country
  • Rebel Base & K-2SO
    • Fantasyland
  • Boba Fett’s Throne, Bo-Katan Kryze Throne, Emperor Palpatine Throne, Jabba the Hutt
    • Tomorrowland

Star Wars CharactersDisneyland After Dark

In our experience, the most popular characters are easily the Ewoks! If they are at the top of your list you better prepare for a long line. During our Star Wars Nite experience we waited nearly two hours to meet them! Other popular characters include the Jawas, Captain Rex, and Ezra & Sabine. A good rule of thumb for most After Dark events- the most rare characters will easily be some of the most popular.

Character lines can eat up a lot of your time during an after dark event so prioritize your top choice carefully.

  • Ezra & Sabine, Captain Rex, the Seventh Sister
    • Main Street, U.S.A.
  • Zam Wessell
    • Adventureland
  • BB-8, C1-10P
    • Frontierland
  • Ewoks, R5-D4, Jawas
    • Critter Country
  • Queen Amidala
    • Fantasyland
  • Darth Vader, Darth Maul, R2-D2, Emperor Palpatine and his Royal Guard
    • Tomorrowland
  • Chewbacca, Kylo Ren, Rey, Vi Moradi, C-3PO, Mandalorian and Grogu
    • Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge

Star Wars Nite 2024 Food OfferingsStar Wars Nite

There will also be special food offerings for the 2023 Disneyland After Dark Star Wars Nite. Here are all the treats Disney has shared so far:

  • Harbour Galley – Mos Eisley Spaceport Cookies
  • Gibson Girl Ice Cream Parlor – the Galactic Princess Sundae.
  • Frontierland Churro Cart- Mossy Mint Churro
  • Red Rose Taverne – Harissa Tip-Yip Bowl

Disneyland After Dark: Star Wars Nite Tips & Review from Last Year!Disneyland After Dark

We experienced the event Disneyland After Dark: Star Wars Nite and we learned a lot about how to navigate after dark events regardless of what the current theme is.

Your ticket to the Disneyland After Dark event includes admission to Disneyland starting at 6PM. Take advantage of this early entry and be prepared at the park gates! We had a bit of a line to contend with arriving right at 6PM so in hindsight next time we’d arrive at least 30 minutes prior to the event time to get a good spot.

The Disneyland After Dark events technically only last four hours as they’re scheduled to officially begin at 9PM and end at 1AM. That is not a lot of time to try and fit in all the activities that are offered! We knew from the get go that we weren’t going to be able to do it all so we made a list of priorities with our top two being the special fireworks and the lightsaber meet up in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge. After that, we focused on our top favorite characters we wanted to see. But be warned- character lines will often be the longest lines you will experience since these events are often when Disneyland rolls out all the limited characters!

Disneyland After Dark

If we weren’t interested in the fireworks, this would have been a great time to meet characters instead as many guests of the party were watching the fireworks in front of the castle. So you can see the process of weighing your must dos!

Disneyland After Dark

Some popular characters (the Ewoks were hands down the most popular!) had lines forming even before the event officially began which was a smart move for some guests, they were right in line when the event already began.

The attractions were nearly all walk ons with the exception of the Star Wars attractions (it was Star Wars Nite!) so we did walk on to a few rides as we went about our evening. In fact, for some guests purchasing a Disneyland After Dark event ticket might be worth it just to experience rides with no waits!

Disneyland Star Wars Nite

Overall, we had a great experience at our Disneyland After Dark event. We weren’t able to do everything we wanted to but we decided in advance what our top priorities were and managed them quite well.

We mobile ordered food before the party began which allowed us to skip any long food line waits. If a Disneyland After Dark event takes place during your next vacation, I’d recommend checking it out whether you’re going for the specific theme or just utilizing the no wait times for rides!
