Disneyland Star Wars Nite 2023 Dates, Details, Prices – Plus REVIEW from Party Last Year
Disneyland has announced that Star Wars Nites are returning to Disneyland Park in 2023. Below are the dates for Star Wars nites 2023, details on when tickets go on sale, our review of the Star Wars Nite event from last year, and details on what is returning with the event this year.
Star War Nites at Disneyland are a part of the Disneyland After Dark set of events. These special themed nights are after-hours parties that allow guests to enjoy special themed entertainment. These are separate ticket events that take place on a select number of nights each year.
When are Star Wars Nites at Disneyland in 2023?
There are a variety of other Disneyland After Dark events that take place throughout the winter and spring months at Disneyland. Disney also just announced a Throwback Nite that will take place two nights at Disneyland Park that you can read about in our general Disneyland After Dark events guide.
In 2023 there will be more Star Wars Nites at Disneyland than ever before. The event will take place on May 2, 4, 8 & 11 at Disneyland Park. Parties take place from 9 am to 1 am. Guests are able to enter the parks up to three hours before the parties start to mix-in with other park guests.
Tickets will go on pre-sale for Magic Key holders beginning Feb. 21, 2023 (no earlier than 9 a.m. PT). General public tickets will go on sale on Feb. 23, 2023 (no earlier than 9 a.m. PT).

What Does a Disneyland Star Wars Nite Ticket Include?
A ticket to Star Wars Nite at Disneyland includes early admission to Disneyland before the party starts. Admission for party guests into the park begins as early as 6 pm PT. No park reservations are required.
The themed Star Wars night at Disneyland also features a special Star Wars fireworks show that features iconic Star Wars music.
Unlike some of the other Disneyland After Dark parties, the Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance attraction will be open for guests during this after-hours party. You'll find lots of other attractions open in the parks too.
Special exclusive Star Wars characters will be out in the parks. Last year we loved seeing the Ewoks. Characters mentioned already for the 2023 event include Captain Phasma and her Stormtroopers appearing in Tomorrowland and the Tusken Raider and Jawas.
There will also be a lightsaber instructional demonstration where you'll learn to handle a lightsaber through a series of elite moves to bring our your inner Jedi.
Guests will also receive a commemorative credential and guide map as well as unlimited downloads of Disney PhotoPass digital photos taken during the party. (Credentials and maps are limited to one per ticketed person.)
You'll also find Star Wars-themed eats and treats, merchandise, photo opportunities, and more.
Star Wars costumes are encouraged though guests will still have to follow the Disneyland costume policy.
Disneyland After Dark: Star Wars Nite Tips & Review from Last Year!
We experienced the event Disneyland After Dark: Star Wars Nite and we learned a lot about how to navigate after dark events regardless of what the current theme is.
Your ticket to the Disneyland After Dark event includes admission to Disneyland starting at 6PM. Take advantage of this early entry and be prepared at the park gates! We had a bit of a line to contend with arriving right at 6PM so in hindsight next time we'd arrive at least 30 minutes prior to the event time to get a good spot.
Many of the photo ops were available before the party officially started- some with a PhotoPass photographer already taking photos! We were able to get our picture taken at many of the themed photo ops before the event officially began.
The Disneyland After Dark events technically only last four hours as they're scheduled to officially begin at 9PM and end at 1AM. That is not a lot of time to try and fit in all the activities that are offered! We knew from the get go that we weren't going to be able to do it all so we made a list of priorities with our top two being the special fireworks and the lightsaber meet up in Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge. After that, we focused on our top favorite characters we wanted to see. But be warned- character lines will often be the longest lines you will experience since these events are often when Disneyland rolls out all the limited characters!
If we weren't interested in the fireworks, this would have been a great time to meet characters instead as many guests of the party were watching the fireworks in front of the castle. So you can see the process of weighing your must dos!
Some popular characters (the Ewoks were hands down the most popular!) had lines forming even before the event officially began which was a smart move for some guests, they were right in line when the event already began.
The attractions were nearly all walk ons with the exception of the Star Wars attractions (it was Star Wars Nite!) so we did walk on to a few rides as we went about our evening. In fact, for some guests purchasing a Disneyland After Dark event ticket might be worth it just to experience rides with no waits!
Overall, we had a great experience at our Disneyland After Dark event. We weren't able to do everything we wanted to but we decided in advance what our top priorities were and managed them quite well.
We mobile ordered food before the party began which allowed us to skip any long food line waits. If a Disneyland After Dark event takes place during your next vacation, I'd recommend checking it out whether you're going for the specific theme or just utilizing the no wait times for rides!
