The Florida heat can impact you, unlike anything that you may have ever experienced before. It is so important to stay hydrated at Walt Disney World. However, paying $5 for a bottle of water can add up quickly. Luckily, Disney allows guests to bring in their own refillable (or disposable) water bottles to the park. Disney World Water Bottle Refill Options

Water Bottle Refill Disney World

At Disney World, there are three main ways to refill your reusable water bottle.

1. Bottle Refill Station (and Water Fountains)

Disney has started to implement more and more bottle refill stations through the theme parks. These stations are usually located in the same locations as the water fountains, but not every fountain has a bottle refill station.

The Disney World water bottle refill stations allow you to keep your water bottle upright to fill it so you don’t have to do the awkward tilt at a water fountain or deal with low water pressure.

Unfortunately, these locations are not marked on the Disney maps. We, however, have located them for you and will detail the Disney World water bottle locations further down in the article.

2. Quick Service Locations

Another option to quickly fill up your water bottle is at a quick service location. If you are willing to stand in line at a quick service location, you can get a free cup of ice water. The nice part about this option is the ice that you will get. The ice can slowly melt in your water to help keep it cool.

There are two downsides to this option. You may have to wait in really long lines to get the water cups and they are small, so the likelihood that you will fill up your full bottle is minimal.

3. Self-Serve Soda Fountains

The third option for refilling your water bottle is the self-serve soda fountains. Some of the restaurants around Disney have self-serve beverage stations. To have access to soda, you must purchase a cup with an RFID chip in the bottom; however, the water does not require this chip to access.

Most of the time you can also get ice in these locations to help keep your water cool.

EPCOT has five refill stations. Two are located in the middle of the middle of the park before entering World Showcase, and the other three are located at the front of the park.

You can find the water bottle refill stations at:

  • The Odyssey: near the World Showcase side entrance
  • Near Refreshment Port outside of the companion restroom
  • Guest Relations: Outside of the sliding doors on the right
  • Connections Eatery and Cafe: between the restrooms and the exit
  • Journey of Water: to the right of the entrance to the attraction

While not technically in EPCOT, if you are entering or leaving through the International Gateway, there is a bottle filler outside of the bathrooms between the Skyliner and the park entrance.

Disney Springs

Even when you are venturing outside of the theme parks for a little while to do some shopping, Disney Springs has water bottle refill stations available. Which you will definitely need after carrying all of the shopping bags from the amazing items you can purchase here.

Most Disney Springs area restrooms have water bottle refill stations right outside. The individual store restrooms will vary, but the outdoor Disney-maintained restrooms usually have a water bottle refill station. We have also seen a refill station at the M&M store by the restrooms there.

Resorts

I love to fill up my water bottle before ever hopping on the bus to get to the parks and I like to have a fresh bottle of water in the room when we return at night. Disney resorts are slowly adding in water bottle refill stations to make this task a little easier on resort guests.

The most common locations to look for water bottle refill stations, because Disney is constantly adding more, is

  • Near the lobby restrooms
  • Near transportation hubs
  • Near the pool restrooms
  • At playgrounds

Helpful Hydration Tips

Even on a cool day in Florida, you can get dehydrated from excess walking, standing in lines, and just exposure to the sun. Make sure to drink water even if you don’t feel that warm.

Many guests say that the water at Walt Disney World does not taste great (I am one of them!), so having a filtered water bottle or water flavorings can help make it not taste as bad.

If possible, fill up your bottle at the resort in the morning with mostly ice. As it melts, you will get fresh, cool water to drink throughout at least the morning.

Great Reusable Water Bottles to Bring to Disney

Everyone has their own opinion about which are the best bottles for Disney. Some prefer a stainless steel water bottle while others want something plastic and lightweight. When thinking of what water bottle to bring with you, make sure you think about the fact you have to carry it around with you all day long.

Stainless Steel – these insulated water bottles are great at keeping your drink cold but can become incredibly heavy. If using a stroller, this is no issue, but if you are carrying your water by hand or in a backpack, this may be something to consider.

The plastic bottles are nice and lightweight to carry around, but they can get hot incredibly easily. They also tend to sweat and can make anything in your bookbag wet as well.

Make sure to bring along a scrubby if your bottle has a straw. After using it continuously for a few days, the straw tends to get pretty nasty and you will want to have a fresh water bottle each day in the park.

No matter what method you choose to get your water, it is incredibly important that you stay hydrated throughout your trip. If you do start to feel sick or dehydrated, check out one of the first aid stations or baby stations located in the parks. They have access to beds to lie down and cool water as well.
