Top 14 Best Disneyland Souvenirs to Bring Home

There are so many great shopping options at Disneyland that narrowing it down to the best Disneyland souvenirs that stand the test of time can be overwhelming! There are several types of souvenirs available at Disneyland, from Mickey ears to pressed pennies, popcorn buckets, and more.

The Disney Store website sells Disneyland items as well that you can purchase early and use the items to get your family excited about your trip! We will also cover some options for Disney apparel and accessories that you can buy ahead of time and wear to the parks to save money.

Here are the top 14 best Disneyland souvenirs ranging in price options you can buy that you will treasure for years to come.

1. Disney Pin Trading

Pixar pins

Disney pins are small metal images with a pin back depicting characters or Disney attractions from the parks, and they are typically displayed on a lanyard worn around your neck. You can collect pins and participate in Disney pin trading, which is a program where guests interact with cast members and other park guests.

To participate, one must purchase an official Disney pin and then find a cast member with a set of Disney pins of their own. Approach the Disney cast member and request to trade pins. Indicate the pin that you would like to trade for and give them the one you would like in exchange. Cast Members honor all trading requests, whereas other guests may only trade for a pin they want.

The price of pins at Disney stores can easily add up, but you can get starter packs and pin sets to get more pins for the best value. If you're just starting your pin trading journey and are looking for a cheaper option to get Disney pins in bulk, you can buy them from trusted sellers on Amazon or eBay, who will usually sell about 25-30 pins. If you go with this option, you'll want to watch out for fake pins, which we discuss more in our ultimate guide to Disney Pin Trading.

2. Classic Disneyland Mouse Ears

Since the beginning of Disneyland, the classic black Mickey Mouse ears have been the perfect souvenir. While Disney does sell some fun themed ears, I suggest sticking with all-black. Have the entire family purchase ears and get each of your names embroidered.

You can get your name embroidered on your hat at The Mad Hatter Shop, a crazy hat store that actually has two locations: one on Main Street just as you enter the park, and the second in Fantasyland adjacent to the Mad Tea Party. After you have your ears, you can take fun pictures of the entire family from the back or the front.

If you are interested in themed Mickey or Minnie ear headbands, there are several options where you can find them, with great selections at World of Disney, The Mad Hatter Shop (mentioned above), and several other shops around the parks as well.

Mickey ears

During seasonal celebrations, there will be specially themed ears available like the holiday ones below:

If you're looking to buy Mickey or Minnie ears ahead of your trip, consider options like Amazon and Etsy for a good selection at a cheaper price. If you want to wear Mickey ears but don't love the area of having the band around your head the entire day, there are also some hair clip ear options that you can explore. You find some fun ears from sellers on Amazon like this one that offers a set of ears or opt for an Etsy option like this seller that offers sparkly mouse ears in a variety of colors.

3. Silhouettes on Main Street

Disneyland silhouette

On Main Street in Disneyland, visit the Disney Silhouette Studio and get a hand-cut silhouette of you or your child’s head. For $11.99 a person, you get two identical copies of your silhouettes, and you can also have it framed for an additional price.

The skill of the artisan Cast Members is absolutely amazing. They can outline any head with a hat or without to create an inexpensive souvenir that you will want to keep forever.

4. Disneyland Pressed Pennies

Disneyland pressed pennies

Around the park, there are machines that will press your penny into a design representing Disneyland like favorite attractions and characters. Some machines have packaged medallion options and some pressed pennies. To get a pressed penny it costs $1.00. Make sure that you have shiny new pennies, because the designs look the best on those. Purchase a pressed penny book in Disneyland to collect pennies from all of the machines around the parks!

You'll find pressed coin machines around the entire Disneyland Resort, including at Disneyland Park, Disney California Adventure, Downtown Disney, and the Disneyland Resort hotels. You can see the locations of pressed coin machines at the parks online or through the Disneyland app.

5. Disneyland Name Paintings

Disneyland name paintings

In Disneyland adjacent to the Matterhorn and at Kaman's Art Shoppes, Inc. Letter Brush Art in Downtown Disney, Disney sells watercolor paintings of your name. Each letter is illustrated to look like a certain Disney movie or Disney character. One-letter name squares are also available.

See characters like Peter Pan, Woody, Aladdin, Hercules, and Disney princesses featured in the name paintings below.

6. Disney Character Autographs

Disneyland autographs

The Disney Characters will give you a fun Disney autograph. It is a very good idea to have a Disney autograph book to keep all of your autographs in. We suggest purchasing one online in advance to save time and choose the perfect one. If you forget to bring an autograph book, you can find them at shops around the theme parks.

Disney autograph books

When you are in the parks, ask the characters to only sign their autograph on the right page and leave the left side pages open. Take a picture of your child with the character and add it to the left page. It makes for a great way to keep your photographs!

If you're looking to buy autograph books ahead of time, you can consider options like this cute one from Amazon. You'll also find options themed to your child's favorite Disney characters on Amazon as well, like this Disney Princess one that comes with a pen. Or, if you'd prefer a personalized autograph book, see this option from Etsy which you can customize and add your child's name to.

7. Disney's PhotoPass

Disneyland PhotoPass balloons

One of the best souvenirs for remembering your Disneyland Resort trip is the pictures you bring home with you. These pictures will last a lifetime in your family photo album and are something to cherish for years to come. Disneyland has its own crew of PhotoPass photographers strategically placed around the park and ready to take your picture.

You can use the map on the Disneyland app to narrow down some of the places where you can find PhotoPass photographers. They are often available around popular landmarks like the Partners Statue, Sleeping Beauty Castle, the Millennium Falcon at Galaxy's Edge, Cars Land, the Pixar Pier Bridge, and more.

While these pictures are priceless souvenirs on their own, you can add an extra dose of magic by asking for Magic Shots, which is when the photographer digitally inputs some Disney fun into your photo. See some Magic Shots with Mickey balloons and baby Groot in the pictures above and below!

8. Disney Hats

Disneyland Grogu hat

Disney hats can be a great Disneyland souvenir to purchase because they are both functional (helping to protect you from the sun, especially during summer at Disneyland) and are wearable both in and outside of the parks. While you might not be sporting a pair of Mickey ears outside the Disneyland Resort, you can easily wear a Disney hat out and about in your everyday life.

My personal favorite Disney hat is a ballcap I got from Star Wars Trading Post in Downtown Disney that has Grogu on it, and it has started several conversations! You can pick a hat with your favorite character or Disney story, and there are some super fun options to choose from around the parks.

If you prefer to buy your hat ahead of time, you can explore options like this cute Mickey Mouse baseball cap or Minnie bow hat on Amazon. Beyond hats, there is also a wide selection of Disney apparel available at the parks, including spirit jerseys, shirts, dresses, and more.

9. Popcorn Buckets

Disneyland Christmas Mickey popcorn bucket

One of the cutest Disneyland souvenirs you can get is Disney popcorn buckets! These are often offered during the holidays and for limited-time events, and they have become popular with guests who collect them. These Disney popcorn buckets are often delightfully designed around a character and are both adorable and functional!

After you use them at the parks, you can display them as a fun decoration. See a Mickey Christmas tree popcorn bucket above from Christmas at Disneyland and a Coco Skull Sipper from Halloween at Disneyland below. You can see everything you need to know about Disney popcorn buckets in our guide.

10. Disney Artwork

Disney artwork

Another special Disneyland souvenir is the Disney artwork that you can find across the resort based on favorite Disney characters and stories. You can buy Disney artwork at Disneyland locations like Disneyana, the WonderGround Gallery, Off the Page, and more. You can use the artwork to decorate your space and keep the Disney magic alive at home!

This Lady and the Tramp artwork below was done by a Thomas Kinkcade artist and bought at Off the Page in Disney California Adventure, where a meet and greet was offered with the artist.

One of our favorite Disneyland souvenirs, which is completely free, is the artwork you make as part of the Animation Academy class where you draw a Disney character under the guidance of a Disney animator. See this sketch of Pluto from one of the Animation Academy classes below. You can display this free souvenir in your home and think back on the memory of creating it!

11. Disney Mugs or Drinkware

Disney mugs

Another great option is Disney mugs, which are inspired by a ride range of Disney characters and stories. See some fun ones above like a Chip and Dale mug, a Star Wars Mustafar mug, a Snow White poisoned apple mug, and a Walt Disney Cartoonist mug.

There are so many fun options for this Disneyland souvenir, so keep an eye out for Disney mugs around the parks on the online Disney Store, as they make for a great souvenir or gift (as we mention in our 50 best gifts for Disney fans article).

If you'd prefer other drinkware, there are also some really fun themed options like a Darth Vader LIGHTSABER Hilt Light-Up Water Bottle (you can make use of this at the parks and refill it) or Sleeping Beauty Castle Starbucks Tumbler. The great part about these Disneyland souvenirs is that you use them on a daily basis, so they add a little bit of magic to your everyday life.

12. Ornaments

Disneyland Christmas ornaments

Ornaments make for another great Disneyland souvenir! You can visit Plaza Point, which is stocked year-round with holiday decor, and pick out a unique ornament that you will hang on the tree every year. There is a wide variety of ornaments inspired by Disney characters and the theme parks to choose from.

You can also have personalized ornaments made to commemorate your trip, like Cast Members hand-painting names on the ornaments. Ornaments make for a great Disneyland souvenir, as you will use them every year and think back to the memory of when you first got them. This can be a particularly fun Disneyland souvenir for kids with so many great options to choose from!

13. Disneyland Treats

Disneyland Christmas treats

While this souvenir would be short-lasting, it's still worth it to take a Disneyland treat to-go on the road with you! You can either enjoy it as you are traveling or when you have made your way back home. This is the perfect way to wrap up a great trip and take a little bit of Disney with you back to the “real world” to enjoy. You can see some of the cute treats that were decorated for Christmas at Disneyland in the picture of the candy case above that taste just as good as they look!

You can stop by one of the candy shops like Trolley Treats, Marceline's Confectionary, or Candy Palace and Candy Kitchen on your way out of the parks and grab a treat like toffee, fudge, or an adorably decorated Mickey or Minnie candy apple to have later. See the best desserts at Disneyland in our guide!

14. Disney Plush Toys

See the adorable Baymax plushies that are available as part of the recently opened San Fransokyo Square above (including a giant Baymax s’mores plush)! Kids will love to carry these with them and keep them in their rooms as a memory of the trip.
