Real Movie Props Hidden in Disneyland Ride

Indiana Jones Adventure hidden props

One of the most beloved attractions at Disneyland Park is Indiana Jones Adventure in Adventureland. The ride takes you on a thrilling journey to escape the perils of the Temple of the Forbidden Eye after you look into the eyes of the deity Mara. During the adventure, you'll speed over rugged terrain to the iconic Indiana Jones score that was adapted for the ride and encounter dangers like mummies, giant snakes, and even the massive boulder from Raiders of the Lost Ark.

However, the boulder is not the only thing in the ride that comes from the movie—you'll actually find a real movie prop in the queue area outside of the attraction! You'll encounter one of the German patrol trucks that was in the Raiders of the Lost Ark movie, with golf balls on the handlebars of the bumper that were placed there for a car chase stunt in the film.

This is not the only hidden movie prop you'll find in the attraction. You'll also find a mine car that was used during the filming of another Indiana Jones movie, Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom, at the exit of the attraction. The story behind this is that when Imagineers were developing the ride, they had the idea that it would revolve around an out-of-control mine car like the one featured in the movie, but the idea was going to be too similar to the concept of Big Thunder Mountain Railroad. They still decided to incorporate the idea of the mine car by featuring this real movie prop in the attraction.

The attraction features an unbelievable amount of props throughout the queue—more than 1,300! Beyond these two movie props, there is another cool Easter egg in the attraction that you might not have noticed—in Indiana Jones' office in the queue area, one of the crates on the wall contains a fun reference to the Star Wars universe. It says “DELIVER TO: CLUB OBI WAN,” which references the Shanghai nightclub at the beginning of the Temple of Doom movie and our favorite Jedi master.

Another fun Indiana Jones Adventure prop you'll find hidden in the office area of the queue is a 1930s copy of Life magazine featuring Mickey and Minnie Mouse on the cover!

As you're on the ride itself, keep an eye out for a skeleton who is wearing Mickey ears embroidered with the name “Bones” hidden in the ride. However, we haven't spotted the Mickey ears skeleton recently when experiencing the attraction.

We love all of the hidden details and references to the movies that inspired one of our all-time favorite rides at the park! Be sure to look for these Indiana Jones Adventure props the next time you are enjoying the attraction.
