Most Disneyland Guests Don’t Know About This Super Secret Dining Room Open to All

Disneyland is filled with several amazing dining experiences among its parks, Downtown Disney, and Disneyland Resort Hotels. However, some guests don't know about a secret dining experience that is available at one of the best Disneyland restaurants in the parks.

This special dining room is one of the coolest secret spots in the parks that you might not know about. While it can't be reserved, some lucky guests may get the rare opportunity to dine here.

I've been inside the dining room and have a video of the experience captured below. Keep reading for more details on where to find this special dining experience and what it includes!

Secret Dining Experience at Disneyland

Lamplight Lounge at Disney California Adventure is one of our favorite sit-down dining locations at the parks with Pixar touches throughout. It's an especially great brunch spot with outdoor seating and beautiful waterfront views overlooking Pixar Pier! Dining here in the outdoor area is such a picturesque and relaxing experience that we'd highly recommend.

We love the outdoor dining setup and particularly enjoy getting to sit at some of the padded couch-style seating areas with tables in the middle. The photo below is from earlier this summer when I took my 85-year-old grandmother to Disneyland. We enjoyed such a comfortable sitting area here.

Beyond the great experience that you'll normally enjoy at the restaurant, some visitors don't know that there's actually a special dining room available at Lamplight Lounge. This private dining room, called “The Office,” is hidden behind a vault door.

This vault door is located on the same lower level as the rest of the dining area. After coming down the stairs you'll follow the left-side wall all the way along and you'll reach the door.

After entering through the secret door, you'll encounter a space that seats up to 13 people, with red walls and a wooden table surrounded by leather booth seating and chairs. On the walls, you'll find black and white sketches of Pixar animators.

There are also games on the wall that you can take down and play!

The room is very cool for the simple factor that it's small and hidden. That said, I may actually like the normal Lamplight Lounge seating even more because you get to enjoy the great California air.

Perhaps the coolest part of this space is its private patio with views of Pixar Pier's Incredicoaster launch, as seen below:

You can't reserve this secret room, but you can ask if it's available when you check in with a larger group and see if you get lucky, or some bigger groups may be randomly seated here as a special surprise. If you are interested in the room I suggest checking into the restaurant right when it opens for the day and requesting to have your party seated here.

When we recently shared the below video on Instagram there were several comments talking about their experiences getting to sit in this private dining room. One exchange offered helpful information for those trying to walk up and get access to the room.

Megan.C.Francis commented saying “We loved our visit to this secret room. They gave us the wonderful treat of being guests in this secret room for my mom’s birthday! The cast members were absolutely wonderful!!”

When another commenter asked Francis how she was able to be seated in this secret Lamplight Room and if she had to request in advance she shared “No, we didn’t. It was a very special surprise to all of us. We also didn’t have reservations. We joined the walk up waiting list, with a decent sized party, and I mentioned it was my mother’s birthday. We waited about 40 minutes and as we passed the cast member in charge of the walk up list, she told me that we were going to a special room and hoped we would enjoy it. And oh boy we loved our time in this private space. We ordered dinner, played games, went out on the balcony, and relaxed in the air conditioning on a hot day.”
