The transformation of Downtown Disney continues to make progress as more new experiences are introduced to the area for visitors to enjoy. Recently, Downtown Disney opened a new security entrance and plaza, the three new Mexican restaurants Paseo, Céntrico, and Tiendita opened, and the WonderGround Gallery got a new temporary location in the space formerly occupied by California Sole.
Big projects are in the works including Parkside Market, a new two-story Earl of Sandwich location, Porto's Bakery, and a new steakhouse and adjacent barbecue eatery that will take the place of the now-closed Tortilla Jo's.
Now, Disneyland has announced details on another highly anticipated restaurant that will soon be opening in Downtown Disney. Disneyland previously announced that Din Tai Fung would be opening this summer, but now we have an opening date! Keep reading for more details.

Disneyland shared that Din Tai Fung, the world-renowned restaurant famous for its soup dumplings, will serve guests a limited menu for its soft opening beginning June 24, 2024 as it prepares for its grand opening on July 1, 2024. Guests will be able to enjoy the restaurant's full menu, including an expanded bar menu, starting opening day. The restaurant offers family-style dishes including delicious steamed dumplings and buns, greens, a variety of great appetizers, and more.

Din Tai Fung is personally one of my favorite restaurants and I go to the location near me often, so I'm very excited to see it come to Downtown Disney! We anticipate that this will be an extremely popular new addition, especially when it first opens.
For the soft opening starting June 24, the restaurant will be open by reservation only for limited menu service from 11:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. Din Tai Fung will be open for full-service in July. Be ready to grab reservations at the first opportunity, as with the popularity of this restaurant they will be gone in the blink of an eye!
To commemorate Din Tai Fung's opening in Downtown Disney, the company will be releasing two limited-time collections of brand apparel, accessories, and collectible pins, which will be available only at the new Anaheim location once Din Tai Fung officially opens in July. The first collection is called DTF Essentials that will feature streetwear-inspired apparel with an embroidered image of the original Din Tai Fung storefront in Taiwan. The second collection, called the Anaheim Collection, will feature the restaurant company’s mascot Bao Bao across clothing and various accessories. The company will also be launching sets of three collectible enamel pins that they will release later this summer during the drop of the second collection.
Din Tai Fung is also pledging $50,000 to sponsor the annual CHOC Walk in the Park, the fundraiser that takes place at Disneyland to raise funds for programs, education, and research for patients.
