New Disneyland Security Entrance and Plaza Now Open

Downtown Disney has been undergoing several major new changes recently as part of the larger reimagining of the shopping, dining, and entertainment district. Recently, three new Mexican restaurant concepts opened, Din Tai Fung is preparing for its opening this summer and construction is underway for Parkside Market, Marceline's Confectionary is temporarily closed as it is reimagined, and more.

New Downtown Disney Security Entrance

The new Downtown Disney entrance and security checkpoint are located on the west end of the district.

This new entrance reflects the bigger efforts to make Downtown Disney more of a destination at the Disneyland Resort. I like the bold branding here and the mid-century modern style.

There is also a new mural with an abstract depiction of Downtown Disney that is now visible as well. In the background of the mural, you can see the sculptural tower designed by Nikkolas Smith and some of the new additions coming like Din Tai Fung, Parkside Market, and Porto's.

You can see a look below at the plaza located in this area of Downtown Disney. This is a nice open area with several places to sit across the lawn area located next to the new stage where guests can enjoy live entertainment.
