This Other Disneyland Discount Is Better Than Disney Visa Cardmember Deal Just Released

Disneyland Resort has three on-property hotels that guests can stay at if they want to stay close to the parks and Downtown Disney. You can essentially create your own Disney bubble, although not quite as large as Walt Disney World's, by staying at one of these three hotels.

The Disneyland Hotel, Grand Californian Hotel & Spa, and Pixar Place are all great hotels within close walking distance to Disneyland and Disney California Adventure. But these hotels all come with a high price tag compared to the other local area hotels.

Since these hotels are all so costly, I often only recommend staying at them unless you can secure a good Disney discount and luckily these discounts run often throughout the year for all guests and Disney Visa cardmembers. We just heard of a NEW Disneyland Visa cardmember hotel discount but surprisingly, it's not quite as good as the other one running right now!

Disneyland Visa Cardmember NEW Hotel Discount

This new Disney Visa Cardmember hotel discount was recently announced and the offer is good for The Disneyland Hotel, The Villas at Disneyland Hotel, and Disney's Grand Californian Hotel & Spa for stays June 10 – Sept. 26, 2024.

Visa Cardmembers can save up to 30% on select Premium rooms Sunday through Thursday nights June 10 through September 26th. For all other room types, Disney Visa Cardmembers can save up to 20%.

Guests can book this offer now through September 12th. You need to pay your deposit, either for a room only reservation or a vacation package, using your Disney Visa card to qualify.

Disneyland Summer Hotel Room Offer

This isn't the only discount available for the Disneyland hotels for the summer. There is another discount offer called the Summer Hotel Room offer for up to 25% off on select stays at Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa, the Disneyland Hotel, or The Villas at Disneyland Hotel when staying four nights or longer, or you can save up to 20% off at these hotels Sunday-Thursday.

This hotel offer is also good for stays June 10 – Sept. 26, 2024 and needs to be booked by September 12th.

Which Disneyland Hotel Discount Is Best?

I compared the discounts for both offers for every single room type that the promotion was valid for and in every single comparison the Summer Hotel Room offer was always the cheapest on stays for four nights or more which qualify for the larger discount. There is no logical reason at all to use this Disney Visa cardmember offer for longer stays when you can easily use the Summer Hotel Room offer which is available to everyone.

I even compared different premium rooms with upgraded rooms, concierge level rooms, etc. and in no scenario did the Disney Visa cardmember discount offer greater savings on these longer range stays.

Let's look at an example for the same date range of a four night stay, in the below screenshot it shows the savings with the Disney Visa cardmember offer for these premium view rooms at the Disneyland Hotel.

This does offer a savings off the rack rate but let's compare it with the Summer Hotel Room savings offer below for the exact same room type and date range.

So if you are a Disney Visa cardmember, I recommend using the Summer Hotel Room offer if you plan on taking advantage of any of these summer discounts for four night stays or longer!

Now if we compare just a one night stay for these same premium rooms, the discount offers are exactly the same for the premium rooms we compared. Interesting to me that this Disney Visa cardmember discount is truly not a better savings, as this is usually the case, but this also may open additional inventory for rooms under this discount offer.

A select amount of rooms is allocated for each discount offer so this does open up more availability of discounted hotel rooms. This is worth knowing if dates sell out under the regular Summer Hotel Room offer then you can check under the Disney Visa cardmember offer for similar savings or a bit less depending on your date range.
