Walt Disney World’s current era of unprecedented expansion goes beyond the theme parks to include a new hotel currently under construction. Key details for this upcoming Magic Kingdom-area resort were just shared, including the reveal that the hotel will have guest rooms themed to Encanto! This follows previous news of the hotel’s restaurant with fireworks views and a mini water park.
Disney shared a sneak peek at all the room types coming to Lakeshore Lodge and announced the resort’s opening date and when bookings will launch. Disney’s Lakeshore Lodge Coming to Disney World
Disney’s Lakeshore Lodge is a new resort hotel opening at Walt Disney World in summer 2027. It’s under construction along Bay Lake, near Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground, with views of Magic Kingdom in the distance.
The theme of the hotel is nature, with nods throughout to nature-focused Disney movies like Fantasia, Bambi, Pocahontas, Brother Bear, and, just announced, Encanto. We have concept art of all the room types below.

Lakeshore Lodge will be a Disney Vacation Club (DVC) resort. For non-DVC members, we expect it to operate in Disney World’s “deluxe” resort category.
The new hotel will feature The Wetlands, a recreational area with a zero-entry pool, water slide, lazy river, and splash pad. See more details about all of Lakeshore Lodge’s poolside offerings.
Disney recently shared a look at how The Wetlands construction is going, including the installation of a giant otter, which will eventually contain a slide for the kids’ water play area.
Lakeshore Lodge will be home to 3 dining locations: a waterfront table service restaurant called Moonglade, pictured above, an all-day quick service restaurant named Bay Lake Provisions, and a pool bar called Paint Out Point Bar & Grill. The lobby of Lakeshore Lodge will feature a blown-glass sculpture inspired by the song “Colors of the Wind” from Pocahontas.
A common area called Dandelion Terrace will provide prime fireworks viewing for Magic Kingdom’s nighttime spectaculars. This space will also feature a 2-story gallery of artwork from The Walt Disney Archives.
Just announced, Lakeshore Lodge will boast a concierge lounge called The Artist’s Nest. Available to guests staying in select club-level rooms, The Artist’s Nest will have complimentary refreshments and views of Magic Kingdom fireworks.

This project has been in and out of construction for nearly a decade now. Even before then, this specific location within Disney World’s property has a legendary history. From 1976 to 2001, it was home to River Country, Disney’s first water park. After River Country permanently closed, the water park infamously sat abandoned for years.
All Room Types at Lakeshore Lodge
Disney’s Lakeshore Lodge will feature Lake Houses, with each room type themed to a Disney animated film inspired by nature.
Lake Houses – Inspired by Brother Bear
The most unique accommodations at Lakeshore Lodge are the Lake Houses, located along the shores of Bay Lake. There are 1- and 2-bedroom Lake House options. Each one is a free-standing, A-frame design.
Floor-to-ceiling windows flank the living room area of the Lake Houses, providing views of Magic Kingdom and Disney’s Contemporary Resort in the distance, and the natural beauty of Bay Lake’s cypress trees in the foreground.
Lake Houses have a full kitchen space, as well as a washer and dryer.
The Disney film inspiring the Lake Houses is 2003’s Brother Bear, but the connection will be subtle, such as with artwork inspired by the movie’s Alaskan setting and a headboard depicting the Northern Lights.
Duo Studios – Inspired by Encanto
The rest of the accommodations are located in the main tower of Lakeshore Lodge. The duo studios sleep 2 guests and are inspired by 2021’s Encanto. Artwork on the wall depicts the Madrigals’ Casita, and butterfly ornamentation can be seen throughout the furniture.
This is a traditional hotel room setup, furnished with the upscale stylings of a Disney World deluxe resort. The 1 bed in each duo studio is a Murphy bed that comes out from the wall. Duo studios have a porch area.
The duo studios at Lakeshore Lodge are Disney World’s first-ever hotel rooms themed to Encanto. This movie being the selection for this particular room type is an interesting choice. Out of any of the films represented at Lakeshore Lodge, Encanto is the newest and is likely the most popular among families. However, the 2-guest occupancy of a duo studio means that most families at Lakeshore Lodge will require a different room type.
A new Encanto ride, named Antonio’s Fiesta de Encanto, is also currently under construction at Disney’s Animal Kingdom.
Resort Studios and Resort Studio King – Inspired by Pocahontas
Resort studios sleep up to 4 guests and are inspired by 1995’s Pocahontas, with blues and purples evoking the “colors of the wind.” This room type has 2 beds.
Not pictured, the resort studio king rooms sleep 2 guests.
These seem to differ from the other studio room types in that they do not appear to have a balcony.
Deluxe Studios – Inspired by Bambi
Deluxe studios sleep up to 4 guests and are inspired by 1942’s Bambi. This film is among the most beautiful in Disney’s animated library, and I’m glad to see the breathtaking background artwork of Disney Legend Tyrus Wong as a key component of the room. The browns and greens of the forest are the color palette for this room type.
The deluxe studios contain 2 beds, 1 of which is a Murphy bed coming from the wall. They will have a balcony area.
1- and 2-Bedroom Villas – Inspired by Bambi
1942’s Bambi is again the inspiration for Lakeshore Lodge’s villa accommodations.
1-bedroom villas sleep up to 5 guests, and 2-bedroom villas sleep up to 9 guests.
Villas contain a kitchen area and living room space.
3-Bedroom Grand Villas – Inspired by Fantasia
1940’s Fantasia, the artistic peak of Walt Disney’s golden age of animation, is the inspiration for the 3-bedroom Grand Villas at Lakeshore Lodge, which can sleep up to 12 guests. In the concept art above, the autumn oranges of The Nutcracker Suite segment from Fantasia inspire the aesthetic of one of the main bedrooms.
3-Bedroom Grand Villas will have multiple bathrooms, a full kitchen, a patio, an expansive dining room area, living room space, and a fireplace. Look closely at the rendering above, and you can see artwork on the wall from The Sorcerer’s Apprentice.
Hidden Willow Presidential Suite – Inspired by Pocahontas
The singular Hidden Willow Presidential Suite at Lakeshore Lodge is inspired by 1995’s Pocahontas, and sleeps up to 6 guests.
The Presidential Suite contains 2 bedrooms, 2 full bathrooms, a full kitchen, and a washer and dryer. Guests staying here will have access to The Artist’s Nest concierge lounge.
Guests staying in the Presidential Suite will also have a perfect view of Magic Kingdom fireworks.
Opening Date and Booking Window for Lakeshore Lodge
Disney’s Lakeshore Lodge will officially open on July 1, 2027. This is right on track with Disney’s previously teased timeline of summer 2027.

Also opening at Walt Disney World in 2027 is Phase 1 of Monstropolis at Disney’s Hollywood Studios.
