5 Best Easy-to-Book Disney World Restaurants That Actually Have Good Food

Walt Disney World is home to an overwhelming array of dining locations, and deciding on which ones you want to reserve for your trip before the booking window opens at 60 days out can be a daunting task. Even seasoned Disney travelers (including yours truly) can sometimes find themselves without dining reservations in the weeks leading up to a trip.

With so many quality table service restaurants available on property, you can still enjoy excellent food and an immersive atmosphere at Disney World, even if you drop the proverbial ball on your planning to-do list. Times for high demand experiences, like Cinderella's Royal Table, ‘Ohana, or Space 220, typically disappear quickly, but you can often find plenty of availability at other top-notch Disney World restaurants if you know where to look.

These easy-to-book favorites are a great place to start your search for worthwhile last-minute dining reservations. A quick check on the My Disney Experience app for open same-day times, times a couple of days out, and times during New Year's week revealed availability across multiple mealtimes for all of these reliably delicious locations. Obviously, we can't make any promises for specific days and times, but there's a good chance you'll be able to snag a reservation for an upcoming trip at one of the following.

Biergarten

Epcot's Germany Pavilion is home to this year-long Oktoberfest celebration set at night within a traditional Bavarian village. Not only does Biergarten's easy-to-book buffet offer a delicious sampling of German favorites, like bratwurst, pork schnitzel, and nudel gratin, but guests will also enjoy lively entertainment from the in-house oompah band! There's even a dance floor in front of the stage where kids of all ages can move to the foot-stomping German folk music. The band also showcases some fun traditional Bavarian instruments, like the alphorn and the cowbells.

Along with the rotating selection of salads, sides and meats, Biergarten appropriately offers several German beers on draft. Don't fill up on barley and hops, though, because the hand-pulled apple strudel here is exceptional.

Jungle Navigation Co. LTD Skipper Canteen

Since its opening in 2015, the meticulously-themed Skipper Canteen has remained an underrated gem at the Magic Kingdom. Expanding on the story of the Jungle Cruise attraction, this unique restaurant features three dining rooms with distinct motifs: a colonial era crew Mess Hall, a Jungle Room (the former family parlor of Dr. Albert Falls), and the S.E.A. Room (a once-secret meeting place for the Society of Explorers and Adventurers)! Each dining area is packed with detail and artifacts to peruse, but my personal favorite is the intimate S.E.A. Room.

The kitchen serves Asian-inspired menu items with names like “Tastes like Chicken” Because it is! and “Hardy Har Char” Siu Pork. It's just adventurous enough, with entrees that still appeal to the pickiest of eaters (I should know).

Trattoria Al Forno

Did you know you can get good Italian at Disney World without booking a reservation far in advance? Tucked away at Disney's Boardwalk, Trattoria Al Forno serves upscale Italian cuisine in a warm and inviting environment with a classic vibe. It boasts an extensive wine list, with a map of Italy on the menu identifying the regions where each offering is produced. In addition to caprese salad, authentic pizzas, and traditional favorites like chicken parmigiana at dinner, guests can also get an artisanal breakfast here, with Mediterranean-influenced menu items like omelettes with fresh mozzarella, tomato, and basil or avocado toast on house-made ciabatta.

Prior to the pandemic, Trattoria Al Forno hosted the Bon Voyage character breakfast, featuring appearances by Ariel and Prince Eric from The Little Mermaid and Rapunzel and Flynn Rider from Tangled. This experience is currently unavailable, but we hope they bring it back eventually!

Tusker House

Many character dining locations at Disney World can be notoriously difficult to book, but this Mickey and friends character buffet had available times for every meal each time we searched. Comparable to the popular African buffet offered at Animal Kingdom Lodge's Boma (which is a good thing!), Tusker House serves African-inspired flavors and breakfast classics right in the heart of Harambe at Disney's Animal Kingdom. The combination of the immersive marketplace atmosphere, unique and delicious entree items, and face time with classic Disney friends make this easy-to-book restaurant one of our favorites.

Raglan Road Irish Pub and Restaurant

If you're looking to make a last-minute reservation at Disney Springs, look no further than Raglan Road (unless, of course, your trip falls within the week of St. Patrick's Day). This beautiful, yet cozy, Irish-owned pub features award-winning authentic Irish cuisine, such as bangers and mash, fish and chips, shepherd's pie, and more! The entirety of the gorgeous Victorian-style interior was built in Dublin by Irish craftspeople, shipped overseas, and then furnished with Irish antiques (including 4 bars) and art.

As if the hearty eats and rich surroundings weren't enough, you can enjoy some of the best live dinner entertainment on property here! Irish musicians play spellbinding ballads and classic pub songs from several different stages, and Irish dancers perform hypnotic footwork with precision and skill. And if you're enjoying a leisurely day outside the parks, don't miss out on their Weekend Bruch, which boasts a full menu, featuring their famous bread and butter pudding as part of the “It's OK to Drool” entree.
