Disney World just announced a large set of closures that include the favorite attraction at Magic Kingdom and a key area of Animal Kingdom ahead of the major new expansion to add Indiana Jones and Encanto.

Animal Kingdom

  • It's Tough to Be a Bug – This attraction closed on March 17, 2025, to become a Zootopia-themed show opening this winter. You can read all the details on that change here.

The DinoLand U.S.A. section of Animal Kingdom will be undergoing a reimagining to transform into a land inspired by the Tropical Americas. The land will have two signature attractions, an Encanto attraction and an Indiana Jones experience. Disney shared that the construction will happen in phases, and the land will open in 2027.

Below are the closure dates that have been announced so far:

  • The last day of operation for TriceraTop Spin, Fossil Fun Games, and Chester & Hester’s Dinosaur Treasures was January 12, 2025.
  • Disney shared that 2025 is the last year to experience DINOSAUR before it closes permanently

EPCOT

CommuniCore Hall recently opened on June 10 last year. This area will be the new center for the various Epcot festivals throughout the year.

  1. I hope they do not add an Indiana Jones ride area like in Disneyland. I was really looking forward to the Indiana Jones ride in Disneyland and we were quite under impressed!
