Disney World’s Cheapest Hotel is Affordable and Surprisingly Good For the Price

Based on all the people complaining about the increasing prices at Walt Disney World, you would think that there is no way to visit the resort without paying hundreds of dollars per night for a hotel room stay.

That simply isn’t the case and the cheapest hotel at Disney World actually offers a great experience.

I recently stayed at the All-Star Music resort at Walt Disney World and have the below thoughts on this hotel and whether you should be considering it for your stay.

Cheapest Disney World Hotel Review

All Star Music Resort at Disney World

In our quest to stay up to date on all of the resort hotels at Disney World, I recently stayed at the All-Star Music Resort at Walt Disney World.

The resort is one of three different All-Star Resorts. The other two are All-Star Sports and All-Star Movies. Each of these resorts uses the same design conceit of having oversized props representing their different categories lining the public spaces in front of the motel-style room buildings. In the middle of these buildings are multiple pool areas to serve the large amount of guests staying here.

Rooms Here Start at $127 Per Night

The lowest priced room we saw in the coming months is $127 per night. When I stayed the room was $166 and booked through our travel partner, Get Away Today. I find that their site is easier to navigate through to find the lower prices and availability than the Disney site. CLICK HERE to get lower prices on hotels >

I used mobile check-in and my room was ready when I arrived.

When I arrived I had already received the text that my room was ready because I completed mobile check-in on the My Disney Experience app before arriving at the hotel.

My room was in the furthest possible building. I picked up hotel keys and a map from the front desk. The lobby area was busy but I didn’t have any issue getting checked in even though it was right in the middle of afternoon check-in time.

Inside My Room at the Resort

Though somewhat small, my room was very comfortable. The setup when you enter is a main queen bed and table area. The table area pulls down to be a Murphy bed so that you have two queen beds in the room.

The entire space felt recently refurbished and the room was in very good condition. The floor was hard faux wood rather than carpeted. I like this change which many hotels have moved over to in recent years.

The bathroom is split to allow for people to get ready while others shower

The toilet and shower are split off from the main room while the sink and mirror are outside. This is a nice setup we look for that allows for multiple people to get ready at once within the hotel room.

Disney Touches at All-Star Music Resort

There are Disney touches in the room that make it feel like Disney World

In the room there are a couple of nice Disney touches that make this really feel like it is a Disney World hotel room. There were cute graphics of Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, and Donald Duck above the bed. The pull-down murphy bed also had a cute graphic that was revealed when you lowered the bed.

Room was peaceful and removed

The resort also felt far more peaceful than I was expecting. The vision of these hotels is a jam-packed place with families and screaming children everywhere. Sure, there was some of that in the lobby, but I was a bit surprised by how peaceful the entire hotel stay felt.

In my room, it was completely quiet and I couldn’t hear anyone in the rooms next to me. Thank you for thick walls!

My hotel room was in the very furthest building of the resort which may have contributed to that feeling but even generally the resort felt quite relaxed.

Super Easy Resort Transportation

A major benefit of staying at one of Walt Disney World’s biggest resorts like this is that the offered resort transportation comes frequently and services only this one resort.

The All-Star resorts all only have bus lines as transportation options to get you to the theme parks, but they are quick and run continuously. Each resort has its own bus that runs directly there so you don’t have to worry about multiple hotel stops the way that some other resort complexes do.

One mark against this hotel is that buses are the only option for transportation. If I wanted additional transportation options, I could’ve upgraded to the Art of Animation or Pop Century resorts which are located on a Disney’s Skyliner stop. That has become our favorite form of transportation over the monorail.

Cafeteria Right Inside the Dining Area

Inside the lobby area, there is a cafeteria that is the main restaurant for the resort. Since this is a value resort there is no table service restaurant here. That’s one of the few perks that you really do miss when staying at this lowest-priced hotel on property.

There is a pool bar just outside the cafeteria but the menu there is limited.

The pool area is colorful and tons of fun for kids.

The designs of the areas are super cute and lean into the different special Disney character moments.

There are also often pool games led by the lifeguards. It was summer rain season during my trip and nearby lightning shut down the pools. Lifeguards moved into the lobby to keep playing games with kids.

Icons Throughout the Resort

Along my walk to the hotel room, I passed multiple different icons representing the different eras of music. I was staying in the country music building so there were huge boots right outside and nearby was the Broadway music building with big marquees for Disney Theatrical properties.

Generally I Was Impressed With All-Star Music

This resort stay to me was a reminder that Walt Disney World has entertainment options that can meet most budgets. Yes, the prices for park tickets and the associated line-skipping service have increased, but you can still take a family to these lower-priced hotels and have a great stay at value pricing.

Looking at the resorts today, Disney clearly wants to be able to offer a range of vacation options for every price point. This hotel stay was a nice confirmation that you are able to stay at Walt Disney World while still on a budget.
