2025 Disneyland Special Events Calendar Released – See All Dates!

Disneyland just made a massive announcement of all the dates for their various celebrations including the 70th Anniversary, special events, and new attraction openings throughout 2025.

This is the second year in a row that they have done this big share of information. Having this wide-ranging calendar allows guests to dive into planning with a complete picture of what will be offered next year at the resort. It's part of Disneyland's bigger efforts to deliver a multi-day theme park experience.

Below are summaries of all of the events offered throughout the year in addition to the dates that we know now for these new events.

Disneyland 2025 Special Events

Events following are all listed in chronological order after the Disneyland 70th which is the major new event offered this year so we feature it first on this list.

Disneyland 70th Anniversary

Disneyland is celebrating their 70th anniversary this year. The celebration includes the return of the popular Paint the Night Parade, amazing Wondrous Journeys fireworks, and a new World of Color show.

There will also be additional decorations throughout the resort. You can see all of the details on the Disneyland 70th anniversary celebration here.

The Disneyland 70th anniversary celebration will run from May 16, 2025 – Summer 2026. During the Halloween and holiday periods, some parts of the celebration will be paused and then will resume again in early 2026.

I love the anniversary celebrations as they often focus on nostalgic elements of Disney and along with it comes great lineups of merchandise which I am sure we will see as part of this celebration. Since the length of the celebration lasts nearly a year, this gives guests a lot of time to get a chance to experience it. This is similar to the approach that Walt Disney World used for their 50th anniversary with the celebration lasting over a year so guests could enjoy it. If that's any indication, this celebration might be just as big of a deal!

Walt Disney – A Magical Life Audio-Animatronic Show

The new Walt Disney Audio-Animatronic show will debut on May 16, 2025 in the Main Street Opera House. This new show will now have a delayed opening later in 2025.

The show will feature a “cinematic presentation of Walt Disney’s journey, culminating in a visit with Walt in his office, brought to life for the first time ever” with an Audio-Animatronic figure of Walt Disney. This show will run on a nonstop basis and then after its initial run will play in rotation with “Great Moments with Mr. Lincoln.” You can see all the details on this new show here.

The timing of this show debuting with the 70th Disneyland anniversary is perfect as we celebrate 70 years of the only Disney theme park that Walt himself set foot in. This is sure to be a special experience for all guests and a great way to begin the 70th celebration. This will also breathe some new life into the “Great Moments with Mr. Lincoln” show which often feels a bit overlooked by many guests.

Lunar New Year

Lunar New Year will return to Disney California Adventure this year beginning January 17, 2025 and running through February 16, 2025. The celebration is inspired by Chinese, Vietnamese and Korean traditions as this year rings in the Year of the Snake. Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse will debut new outfits that represent traditional Korean attire.

Popular favorites will be returning like “Mulan’s Lunar New Year Procession,” “Hurry Home – A Lunar New Year Celebration” water short, live musical performances and Asian-inspired menu items across six Lunar New Year marketplaces and dining locations.

We love this spring festival at Disney California Adventure especially with something that starts right after the holiday season for guests to look forward to. The marketplace booths include such a diverse range of offerings and the procession featuring Mulan is always a hit.

Anaheim Ducks Day

Anaheim Duck Day will also be returning next year on January 24, 2025 with a cavalcade featuring appearances by Anaheim Ducks players and themed games. Downtown Disney will also offer an Anaheim Ducks Day Overtime fcan zone with entertainment, fun activities and photo opportunities.

While this is a short celebration, it's just another event guests visiting in January can look forward to combined with the low crowd ratings we predict for this month on our Disneyland crowd calendar. 

Celebrate Gospel

Celebrate Gospel is a Disneyland Resort tradition for more than a decade and is confirmed to take place again next year. The annual concert will return on February 8 and 15, 2025 with performances by community choirs from across Southern California and award-winning artists. Disneyland does a nice job of incorporating the community into their spring celebrations with these traditions and I'm glad to see it continue to return each year.

Disneyland After Dark

The Disneyland After Dark parties will take place across the first half of 2025 with four different party themes, including favorites like Sweethearts' Nite and more including the return of a popular Disneyland After Dark theme from a previous year!

These after-hours parties include a mix-in during regular park hours, exclusive entertainment, rare character greets, access to attractions with shorter waits, themed foods and beverages, and more. You can see our guide for the full lineup of 2025 Disneyland After Dark events and their dates.

Disney California Adventure Food and Wine Festival

Disney California Adventure Food & Wine Festival takes place February 28, 2025 through April 21, 2025. This next event will include two new marketplace themes along with returning experiences like Chef Goofy and the popular Soarin' Over California attraction overlay.

This is one of the most popular festivals at Disney California Adventure and for good reason! It's a great way to offer more to guests during the spring months and the food marketplace booths offer some of the best items all year at the park.

Season of the Force Disneyland Park

Season of the Force was a hit with guests so Disneyland is bringing it back again next year from March 28, 2025 through May 11, 2025. “Fire of the Rising Moons” will perform nightly in Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge with new projection effects and music. Hyperspace Mountain will also be returning to Tomorrowland and I am sure we will again get a fun lineup of merchandise and food items.

I love to see entertainment that is focused in Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge to continue to draw guests back into that area of the park and breathe fresh air into the space. The projection effects will be a fun addition to the land each night.

Disney Jr. Let's Play! Party

Disney Jr. Let's Play Party will be a one-day event at Disney California Adventure and a two-day event at Downtown Disney. This event features entertainment, Disney Jr. character encounters and activities that families with young children will enjoy.

There are no specific dates announced yet but we know that these events will take place in the summer of 2025.

Halloween at Disneyland

Disneyland Halloween is one of the best times of the year to visit Disneyland as the resort offers so much to do between Oogie Boogie Bash, Halloween themed entertainment, and attraction overlays like Haunted Manson Holiday. It's one of my favorite times of the year at Disneyland!

Next year Halloween will start in late August again with the start of the season kicking off August 22, 2025 and running through October 31, 2025. This is a wise move on Disneyland's part to repeat again next year as the Halloween season continues to be popular and this extended timeline allows more guests to experience it.

Ooogie Boogie Bash

Oogie Boogie Bash Halloween Party starts earlier than ever this year with the first party taking place before the official Halloween season at Disneyland even kicks off. The party will be held for a record 31 nights in August, September, and October. The first party takes place on August 17, 2025. This gives guests even more opportunities to experience the most popular event of the year at Disneyland with tickets always selling out for the experience.

Plaza de la Familia

Plaza de la Familia will return to Disney California Adventure from August 22, 2025 through November 2, 2025. This is such a special event at Disneyland that celebrates the Pixar film “Coco” along with the spirit of Día de Los Muertos.

One of my favorite parts of this event is the Memory Wall, it's always an emotional experience to add the names of your loved ones and read the notes left by others.

Disneyland Christmas and Holidays

And of course, we end the year with truly the best celebration that takes place! The holiday season at Disneyland is a great time to visit taking place November 14, 2025 through January 7, 2025. The Festival of Holidays returns to Disney California Adventure with its lineup of marketplace booths and live entertainment. Disneyland features our favorite parade, A Christmas Fantasy, along with the popular holiday overlay it's a small world Holiday.

This is the second year in a row we've seen Disneyland release their full calendar in advance and this is a great way to allow guests to plan their trips. There is truly something to look forward to all year long at Disneyland with many special events taking place throughout the year. There is some special event happening on almost every single day of the year next year.
