Welcome back to Mickey Visit Disneyland This Week! Each week at Mickey Visit we unearth Disneyland news and tips you could easily miss completely. We have all of the essential dates for your visit. This week, we have news about a flash sale you can take advantage of, a new shop opening, an event that will impact park operations, and more.

These news and date updates provide the most important information for your visit every single week whether you are a frequent visitor or visiting for the first time in years. We cut through the noise to hone in on what dates and news matter for this week. One Big Thing in Disneyland News – Looking Ahead to Halloween at Disneyland!

Halloween at Disneyland begins next month on August 22! Anticipation is growing for this popular celebration, as Disney recently released the Disneyland Halloween food guide and dropped Halloween merchandise on the online Disney Store today. Soon, Halloween decor, clothes, and other fun merchandise should be taking over the Disneyland Resort stores!

The Halloween celebration this year includes several fan-favorite returning offerings like spooky decor across the parks, Halloween Screams fireworks, and seasonal ride overlays, including Haunted Mansion Holiday, Guardians of the Galaxy – Monsters After Dark, Luigi's Honkin' Haul-O-Ween, and Mater's Graveyard JamBOOree.

One of the highlights of the celebration is the variety of Halloween foods across the resort, which includes some really fun themed treats. You can check out all of the 2025 Disneyland Halloween foods, including a free PDF printable of where to find them, as well as the Disneyland Halloween popcorn buckets and novelties!

From August 22-November 2, the Plaza de la Familia celebration honoring Día de los Muertos will also be returning to Disney California Adventure, featuring special foods, entertainment, and activities. See the recently announced Plaza de la Familia foods and two cute new sippers debuting for the celebration.

This year, there are a few new additions to the celebration, including some cute new Halloween looks for Mickey and Minnie that are a twist on their 70th anniversary outfits, a new Disney Pixar Coco Collection that will be released in early September, a new villain-inspired cocktail menu at The Broken Spell Lounge, and a new themed character dining dinner at Storytellers Cafe. Certain 70th anniversary entertainment offerings will also be sticking around for the Halloween celebration, including Paint the Night and the new World of Color Happiness! show. The Oogie Boogie Bash parties also run during the Halloween celebration at Disneyland, closing Disney California Adventure early at 6 pm on event nights. Make sure you're aware of these dates that the park closes early if you're planning a visit! You can hop over to Disneyland Park in the evenings if you have a park hopper ticket, or you can plan to spend your day at Disneyland Park if you have a 1 Park Per Day ticket.

Important Disneyland Dates This Week

Disney Main Street USA

  • Right now, there is a major flash sale on Disney and Universal tickets that will only be available for a few more days! Until July 30, you can book adults at kids' prices for 3-Day and longer tickets at Disneyland. See all details about this adults at kids' prices offer in our separate article here.
  • Thursday, July 31, is the last day for Magic Key holders to enjoy special offers at participating Downtown Disney locations. These special offers include secret menu items, discounts, and special items with purchase. You can see more details on the participating locations in the Magic Key section below.
  • On Sunday, August 3, Disney California Adventure will open slightly later than usual at 8:30am due to the CHOC Walk. Disneyland CHOC Walk is an annual fundraiser walk at Disneyland that takes place in the parks before they open. The proceeds of the event go towards funds for CHOC's programs, education, and research. You can see all other late openings and early closures in our separate article here.
  • Next Monday, August 4, is the first day of validity for the Anaheim resident special ticket offer. Anaheim residents can take advantage of an extremely low-priced 1-day 1-park ticket, with the option to add Lightning Lane Multi Pass and park hopping for additional fees.   • You can now book Disney's Happiest Haunts: The Villains' Trail Guided Tour on the Disneyland app or website! This two-hour tour features a special photo op with the Witch from Snow White, a Lightning Lane entry to Haunted Mansion Holiday, reserved viewing of Halloween Screams, and a special tour keepsake. Price is $130 per guest, age 3 and up! Previously, the tour included a photo op with the Hitchhiking Ghosts from the Haunted Mansion.
  • Nectar Life is officially open in Downtown Disney! This new store has special bath bombs, whipped soaps, and more! At this location, you can blend your own fragrance, customize your own bath soaks or soaps, and create your own mixture of soaps from their Soap Mini Bar!
  • Oogie Boogie Bash tickets are currently on sale, and there are still party nights left! This popular after-hours Halloween party in Disney California Adventure features rare characters, trick-or-treating, the Frightfully fun Parade, the Villains Grove scenescape, and the opportunity to dress up in a costume. Disneyland Operational Updates

  • Disneyland has longer hours of operation this week, with Disneyland Park open until 12 AM every day and Disney California Adventure open until 10 PM.
  • The Disneyland 70th anniversary show, World of Color: Happiness!, runs twice every night at Disney California Adventure. Better Together: A Pixar Pals Celebration runs twice daily.
  • At Disneyland Park, Wondrous Journeys shows with fireworks every night of the week, along with Fantasmic!. Shadows of Memory: A Skywalker Saga will have two showtimes a night. Paint the Night runs twice a night, and The Celebrate Happy Calvacade runs twice during the day.

What We're Thinking About This Week

  • Emily is excited about all of the Halloween foods that were announced! Last year, she was really impressed by all of the Halloween foods she tried, and there are some pretty fun new additions this year!
  • Gavin just stayed at the Element By Westin in Anaheim during his whirlwind trip that included waking up to be at Disneyland at 3:30 am. They are a close walk even then! He's excited to be sharing the word about this great property in our Mickey Visit Disneyland This Week.
  • Lindsay is planning her wish list after reading all about the Disneyland Halloween popcorn buckets and novelties just released, especially that Carthay Circle Spooky Tree Flight!

Disneyland Crowd Calendar This Week

We expect mostly normal crowds this week at Disneyland, with higher crowds as we head into the weekend. Looking ahead to the following week, as we head into August, we anticipate that crowds will start to decrease a bit as kids start to go back to school.

New Disneyland Ride Closures This Week

Here are some of the other current ride closures that are continuing into this week:

  • Redwood Creek Challenge Trail is closed for refurbishment
  • Star Tours – The Adventures Continue is closed for refurbishment
  • Casey Jr. Circus Train is closed for refurbishment
  • Storybook Land Canal Boats is closed for refurbishment
  • Incredicoaster is closed for refurbishment

Heads up! Reservations Open for Disneyland Dining / Park Reservations

For any trips before the below dates, you should be considering booking park reservations and dining reservations.

  • Today is the 60-day window for Disneyland dining reservations for September 26, 2025. 
  • Today is the 180-day window for making Disneyland theme park reservations for January 24, 2026. This applies to most non-Annual Pass tickets.
  • For Magic Key Annual Pass Holders, the 90-day window from today to make theme park reservations is October 26, 2025.

Disneyland Lightning Lane Cost This Week

  • Today, the Lightning Lane Multi Pass service costs $36 if you purchase it when you arrive.
  • For the two Lightning Lane Single Pass rides, the cost is $28 for Rise of the Resistance and $22 for Radiator Springs Racers.
