6 Overlooked Halloween Events at Disney World Beyond Mickey’s Halloween Party

Walt Disney World pulls out all the stops for its seasonal celebrations, including Halloween. Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party, an after-hours event at Magic Kingdom, is popular during spooky season and the main activity that many guests associate with Disney World during this time of year. However, you’ll miss a lot of Halloween fun if you only stick to the party. See also announcements for Disney World’s holiday season.

In this story, we’re taking a look at 6 Halloween events happening at Disney World beyond Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party, including some that are free. Mickey Visit brings you the latest Disney news and planning resources, including 3 holiday overlays coming to popular Disney World rides and food coming to Disney World’s future Monsters, Inc. land.

Golf Cart Parade

Golf cart decorated with water tower

I promise you’ve never seen a Disney parade like this one. Many guests staying at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Campground get around the sprawling grounds by driving a golf cart, or pargo. Guests can bring their own from home, or rent one from the front office.

Each Halloween season, guests decorate their golf carts and ride them through Fort Wilderness. When I say “decorate,” I don’t mean these guests hung a few spooky cobwebs on the golf cart. I mean they transformed their golf cart into a homemade parade float, sometimes with mechanical features attached.

For example, the photo above shows a guest’s golf cart tribute to River Country, the defunct water park that was once located where Disney’s Lakeshore Lodge will open in 2027. They adorned their golf cart’s roof with a recreation of River Country’s water tower. The driver dressed in Goofy’s River Country striped swimsuit.

All of the “floats” are crafted by guests, but the parade itself is an officially sanctioned Disney event and sometimes even has a character or two serving as a grand marshal. The tricky part is predicting when this parade happens. Usually it’s on October 30, the day before Halloween, in the late afternoon, but this has not been confirmed for 2026 yet.

Attending the parade can be difficult to plan for, especially if you’re not staying at Fort Wilderness and don’t have easy access to the campgrounds. Disney will not let guests park at Fort Wilderness unless they’re staying there overnight or have a dining reservation there, so if those factors don’t apply to you, you’ll need to take a boat from Magic Kingdom.

While we’re on the subject of Fort Wilderness, the resort also usually hosts a Halloween beach party the same night as the golf cart parade and a pet parade the day before.

Pumpkin Scavenger Hunt Throughout EPCOT

Spaceship Earth

EPCOT hosts a scavenger hunt called Pluto’s Pumpkin Pursuit. Pumpkins are hidden throughout the entire park, painted as different Disney characters like Figment and WALL-E.

Guests can purchase a map, place stickers on their map as they find the pumpkins, then show their map to a cast member to receive a prize (even if they didn’t find all the pumpkins). Maps are sold for $12 at Creations Shop, Disney Traders, Gateway Gifts, World Traveler, and Food & Wine Festival merchandise kiosks. Prizes can be redeemed at all of those locations except the festival kiosks.

Even for guests who don’t purchase an official map, it can still be fun looking for the different decorated pumpkins throughout EPCOT.

Pluto’s Pumpkin Pursuit continues through November 2, 2026.

Halloween Night at Disney World Hotels

Disney's Contemporary Resort

If you thought Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party was the only place to trick-or-treat at Disney World and missed out on getting tickets to the sold-out party on Halloween night, we’ve got some great news for you.

Though not heavily advertised by Disney, all Walt Disney World hotels host Halloween celebrations the evening of October 31. Activities vary by resort, but can include costume contests, crafts, and trick-or-treating trails. Most of these events are completely complimentary for overnight hotel guests.

If your Disney World hotel stay falls on October 31, consult your resort’s activities guide when you arrive and take a look at the special events planned for Halloween night.

Halloween Character Dining

If you’re not attending Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party and/or prefer to see multiple characters wearing Halloween costumes in one place rather than track them down individually at the party, Minnie’s Halloween Dine might be for you.

Minnie’s Halloween Dine is a seasonal character buffet meal hosted at Hollywood & Vine at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Guests can join Minnie, Mickey, Goofy, and Pluto for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. They’re all wearing Halloween costumes exclusive to this restaurant.

Minnie’s Halloween Dine continues through November 3, 2026. Starting on November 4, the theme changes to Minnie’s Holiday Dine.

Indiana Jones Halloween Bar

Jock Lindsey’s Hangar Bar at Disney Springs is named and decorated after the pilot from Indiana Jones. During fall, this dining location becomes Jock Lindsey’s Halloween Bar with elaborate décor inspired by a vintage Halloween aesthetic and a specialty menu of spooky-inspired food and beverages.

Some of the menu items include deviled eggs served in a candelabra, a Temple of Doom margarita, and “alien invader” chicken sliders. See all the bar’s Halloween food and beverages here.

While not as heavily advertised as Jock Lindsey’s Halloween Bar, another Disney Springs dining location, The Edison, also has Halloween decorations and drinks. See our review of our Halloween season visit to The Edison.

Jock Lindsey’s Halloween Bar continues operating through November 9, 2026, making it one of the last holdouts of Disney World’s Halloween festivities.

Halloween Movie Nights

Walt Disney World hotels host Movies Under the Stars, outdoor movie nights with films projected on huge inflatable screens. Depending on the resort, these events can take place on a beach, astroturf, or deck. They’re a free, relaxing alternative to attempting to attend a busy nighttime show at one of the theme parks.

Throughout October, many of the hotels’ movie nights feature films themed to Halloween or family-friendly spooks. Consult your resort’s activities schedule when you arrive for dates, times, and movie selections.
