There are so many great snacks and drinks throughout Disney World property! You have probably already seen many articles detailing the most popular restaurants, desserts, and drinks throughout Disney World property, but what about the underrated or overlooked food items?
More specifically, we are often asked which food items are overlooked within the Disney World theme parks. Guests always find themselves so distracted with the incredible attractions, shows, and overall atmosphere at the Disney World theme parks that they often pass by some of the tastiest snacks within the parks!
We visit Disney World property monthly and often find many overlooked or underrated food items throughout the four amazing theme parks. Below I will go over some of the most overlooked food items throughout the Disney World parks that should be considered on your next trip!
1. Maple Popcorn in EPCOT
Although you can find popcorn carts throughout each of the Disney World theme parks, the maple popcorn found in the Canada Pavilion in EPCOT beats them all! Imagine pouring warm maple syrup onto buttered popcorn to create a delicious caramel corn-like flavor that is both sweet and salty. Maple popcorn, like the buttered popcorn throughout Disney World, is surprisingly plant-based, making this a delicious treat for almost anyone!
Guests can purchase maple popcorn for $6.25 at the popcorn cart just outside of the Le Cellier Restaurant in EPCOT's Canada Pavilion in the World Showcase. This is one of my personal go-to snacks for something quick and delicious. This appropriately named Popcorn in Canada cart also offers souvenir buckets which include $2.25 refills throughout the length of your stay, as well as unique drinks including Moosehead draft and Ottawa Apple drink featuring Crown Royal whiskey, maple, apple infusion, and cranberry juice. This small cart has a ton of overlooked food times to try on your next trip to EPCOT!
2. Frozen Bananas in Magic Kingdom
The frozen bananas found at several carts in Magic Kingdom aren't talked about nearly as much as they should. Although this is a classic snack that you've probably tried before, people seem surprised that this is another favorite snack of mine when I visit Disney World. As someone who tries to eat relatively healthy, I feel like this snack is somewhat nutritious with a serving of fruit but also serves as a cold treat, especially on a hot day. This is a also a great snacks for parents and kids alike, and can help balance out the other treats you eat throughout the day!
Frozen bananas are served with dark chocolate and peanuts, and is both gluten and dairy-free! They cost $5.75 and have been found at the snack carts near Cinderella's Castle and near Storybook Circus. Frozen bananas are another often overlooked treat that I love to enjoy at Magic Kingdom!
3. Grilled Corn on the Cob in Animal Kingdom
Another overlooked but delicious snack at Animal Kingdom is the grilled corn on the cob, found at the Harambe Fruit Market quick service kiosk! This delicious snack can be served with our without butter and African spices that bring this classic snack to a whole different level! The corn on the cob is grilled fresh right after you order and makes for a delicious treat.
The Harambe Fruit Market is located just outside the Kilimanjaro Safari attraction, and the grilled corn on the cob costs $5.29 each. The Harambe Fruit Market also serves easy on the go snacks including Mickey-shaped pretzels, whole fruit, churros with chocolate sauce, and a three pack of mini Baybel cheese.

4. Cream Cheese Warm Stuffed Pretzel in Magic Kingdom and Hollywood Studios
Many guests often miss the extremely underrated warm sweet cream cheese pretzel. However, we always recommend trying this sweet and savory treat when you are at Magic Kingdom or Hollywood Studios! This pretzel is served warm, filled with sweet cream cheese, and topped with breadcrumbs instead of salt. Although not too sweet, this is pretzel is definitely catered to those with a sweet tooth and also love pretzels!
The Cream Cheese Warm Stuffed Pretzel is available at The Lunching Pad in Magic Kingdom for $7.79. The Lunching Pad, located in Tomorrowland, is conveniently open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner and serves this treat all day! Another delicious treat found at The Lunching Pad includes the Sticky Bubble Bread which consists of sweet bread rolled in cinnamon, caramel, and warm spices!
We've also spotted Cream Cheese Warm Stuffed Pretzels at Hollywood Studios at the food carts outside of the Rock ‘n' Rollercoaster and Mickey and Minnie's Runaway Railway attractions. Although at times it is not available at these carts, it's always worth a try if you visit Hollywood Studios!
5. Grilled Three-Cheese Sandwich and Totchos in Hollywood Studios
There's nothing like a grilled cheese sandwich, and you can order a quick and delicious version at Woody's Lunch Box quick-service restaurant in Hollywood Studios! The Grilled Three-Cheese Sandwich costs $10.29 and is made with melted provolone, cheddar, and American cheese grilled on sourdough bread. There is even a delicious plant-based grilled cheese sandwich option available as well. We \recommend paring this grilled cheese sandwich with “Totchos” for an additional $10.49 which are potato barrels (tater tots) coated with beef and bean chili, shredded cheese, and signature Queso with tomatoes, corn chips, and finished with sour cream and green onions. There is also a plant-based version of the Totchos available with non-dairy chili, cheese, green onions, and corn chips. If you're not that hungry, you can also order a side of plain potato barrels for $4.29.
Woody's grilled cheese sandwich is often overlooked because it is a basic food item, however I recommend giving it a try! There are also a wide variety of other delicious treats at Woody's Lunch Box including the Lunch Box Tarts, which are some of our favorite desserts in all of Disney World!
6. Bavarian Pretzel in Hollywood Studios
Another delicious yet overlooked pretzel is the Bavarian Pretzel, found at the BaseLine Tap House in Hollywood Studios. BaseLine Tap House is located on Grand Avenue near the Star Tours attraction and Sci-Fi Dine-In Theater Restaurant. It consists of a small, walk-up counter inside and outdoor seating covered in a string of lights. This brewery has the feel of a modern-day Downtown Los Angeles and offers a broad selection of California craft ales, lagers, cider, wine, and specialty cocktails. BaseLine also offers delicious non-alcoholic drinks as well as other small plates including our favorite Bavarian Pretzel and a California Cheese and Charcuterie Plate.
The Bavarian Pretzel costs $10 and is a great snack to share while you are enjoying a refreshing ale on BaseLine's patio. It is much larger than your typical Mickey-shaped pretzel and is served with beer-cheese fondue and spicy mustard. It is easy to get caught up in the excitement at Hollywood Studios with their amazing attractions, but visiting BaseLine is one of my favorite overlooked activities at Hollywood Studios. Next time you are looking for a relaxing spot to take a break we recommend grabbing a drink and a Bavarian pretzel at BaseLine Tap House!
7. Werther’s Original Cookie Sandwiches in EPCOT
I am always so shocked whenever I meet someone who hasn't visited Karamell-Küche located in EPCOT's Germany Pavilion in the World Showcase. You can usually smell the delicious scent of caramel when you walk by this shop, as it sells tons of caramel flavored treats, including Werther's Original Caramel! This shop sells everything from Werther's butter bars made with caramel or strawberry, pecan clusters, caramel flights, caramel apples, and our favorite: Werther's Original cookie sandwiches!
The Werther's Original Cookie sandwiches consist of two cookies filled with Werther's Original Caramel layered with buttercream frosting. Most recently, Karamell-Küche released a Mickey-shaped chocolate cookie sandwich made with Mickey-shaped chocolate cookies sandwiched with Werther's Original caramel, salted caramel buttercream frosting, and a sprinkle of sea salt. Another favorite that is often overlooked is the Werther's Original Caramel Snickerdoodle Cookie Sandwich which consisted of two snickerdoodle cookies with salted caramel buttercream frosting and caramel drizzle. These delicious cookie sandwiches range between $7.29 and $7.79 making them a somewhat expensive treat, but worth it! For caramel and chocolate lovers, definitely stop by Karamell-Küche on your next trip to EPCOT.
8. Pongo Lumpia in Animal Kingdom
Another great food kiosk is Pongu Pongu, located in Pandora: The World of Avatar at Animal Kingdom. As you exit the incredible Flight of Passage attraction, make a sharp left turn to try the Pongu Lumpia, one of the best overlooked treats at Disney World! You've probably heard of the Cheeseburger and Pizza Spring Rolls at Magic Kingdom, but the Pongu Lumpia is a delicious pineapple-cream cheese spring roll. Many overlook this delicious treat, however I highly recommend trying it on your next visit to Animal Kingdom.
Pongu Lumpia is only $3.79 and is available all day, even during breakfast. Pongu Pongu is also home to other delicious treats including Marshall's Favorite Stuffed Pancake Sandwich during breakfast which comes with sausage, guava jelly, egg, and cheese. Another favorite drink found at Pongu Pongu is the famous Night Blossom beverage which is a refreshing concoction of apple and desert pear limeade with Boba balls.
9. Peanut Butter & Jelly Milkshake in Hollywood Studios
When considering table service restaurants at Hollywood Studios, 50's Prime Time Café is always a great choice! This restaurant, located in the Echo Lake area, serves class American comfort food in a retro style atmosphere. As you can expect with a 50's themed restaurant, there are several different types of milkshakes to choose from at 50's Prime Time! While you can choose a classic chocolate, vanilla, or strawberry milkshake, we highly recommend the Peanut Butter & Jelly Milk Shake!
This delicious milkshake costs $9.25, but can be easily shared between 2-3 guests. You can really taste the peanut butter and jelly flavors, making it a unique and refreshing treat! 50's Prime Time also has other great drinks that fit their theme such as a root beer, Fanta orange, or Coca-Cola float. Definitely check out 50's Prime Time and their underrated Peanut Butter & Jelly Milk Shake!
10. Fried Plantains in EPCOT
Last but certainly not least are the surprisingly tasty Fried Plantains, located at the La Cantina de San Angel quick service restaurant in EPCOT's Mexican Pavilion in the World Showcase. I often grab a quick bite to eat here especially when I am in the mood for some delicious and reasonably priced Mexican food. La Cantina de San Angel has a large outdoor seating area as well as an indoor seating area open through lunch located just past the pickup windows on the left.
The Fried Plantains are made to perfection and even include a cheese topping. It may sound weird, but it pairs perfectly! The Fried Plantains count as a side, priced at $4.99, and come in a relatively small bowl. Therefore, we recommend pairing it with a taco or rice bowl if you're having a full meal!
