A guest recently jumped into the water during a boat ride at Walt Disney World, prompting a response from Disney after multiple videos of the incident went viral. This comes not long after two separate incidents of guests climbing out of other boat rides at both Disney World and Disneyland.
This newest incident took place on a different attraction than previous ones and has raised new guest safety questions and consequences for when guests break the rules. Here’s what happened and what Disney had to say about the incident. Mickey Visit brings you the latest Disney news and planning resources, including the overlooked best part of Disneyland and the new Disneyland President’s picks for the best food at the resort.

Viral Video Shows Guest Jumping into Water on EPCOT Ride

A video began circulating on social media this week that shows a guest jumping into the water during EPCOT’s Gran Fiesta Tour Starring The Three Caballeros attraction. The attraction is located in the Mexico Pavilion of the World Showcase and offers a similar experience to Pirates of the Caribbean in a slow-moving boat vehicle.

The video shared footage of a guest leaving the moving boat and then diving into the water while the others from his boat cheered him on.

In the video caption, chefmike_collantes posted that it was multiple people who jumped into the water, providing an update that said, “So this was the second kid who jumped in and they stopped the ride for about 15minutes we for sure thought security would be waiting but nothing just walked right off.”
He also alleges in the comments that the group had been “chugging margaritas as they were getting in.”
A representative for Walt Disney World shared the following statement with PEOPLE: “This behavior was unsafe and a clear violation of our park rules. The guest and his party were trespassed.”
It is unclear whether the guests were banned from the parks, but this kind of behavior seems to be becoming far too common. This is also not the first time a guest exiting a Disney boat ride has raised safety concerns.
Earlier this summer, a 13-year-old guest left their ride vehicle on Tiana’s Bayou Adventure at Disneyland and fell down the ride’s major 50-foot drop. Then a similar situation happened at Disney World’s version of the ride in September, with a guest jumping out of the log before the final drop.

Outside of boat rides, a Disney World guest was seen swimming in Seven Seas Lagoon right by Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort this week as well. It appears they accessed the water by using a dock with a ladder meant only for cast members. This is quite dangerous behavior, as the bodies of water in Florida are known for having alligators.
