While Lightning Lanes are an effective way to skip long lines for popular attractions, there is a secret way to get onto a hidden gem attraction at Disney California Adventure that not every visitor knows about. It's perfect for families and those who want to ride with a buddy.

Disney California Adventure is home to some fantastic attractions, from thrill rides (including one of the best rollercoasters at Disneyland) to family-friendly dark rides. Monsters, Inc. Mike & Sulley to the Rescue! is an attraction that takes guests on a taxi ride through Monstropolis from the Monsters, Inc. movie as they help Mike and Sulley return Boo safely home. Monsters, Inc. Mike & Sulley to the Rescue! Lines

Monsters, Inc. Mike & Sulley to the Rescue! is an engaging dark ride that is located close to the entrance of Disney California Adventure in Hollywood Land. The ride is short and has no height requirement, making it a perfect option for little ones. However, the wait time for this ride can get relatively high especially when there is demand for this Lightning Lane Multi Pass offering, often climbing to 30 minutes or more.

While the attraction does offer Lightning Lane entry that allows you to minimize your wait time, there is also a secret way to skip the long line as well, which we will discuss below.

Secret Way to Buddy Up and Skip Monsters, Inc. Line

Certain rides at Disneyland and Disney California Adventure offer Disneyland Single Rider, which allows you to split from members of your party to fill in the remaining seats left by guests from the standby line. However, because you get split up from your party, Single Rider is not always ideal and has an age limit of 7 years old or older.

Monsters, Inc. Mike & Sulley to the Rescue! offers something similar to Single Rider called the Buddy Pass, which allows small parties of one or two people together to fill the remaining spots left in the ride vehicles. You can ask for the Buddy Pass from the Cast Member at the entrance of the queue, and if they are passing them out, you'll be able to enter through the exit of the attraction and skip the long standby line.

You'll be guided from the entrance of the attraction through the exit to join a line of other pairs to slot into the ride vehicle extra rows. The ride vehicles for the attraction have three rows. Before the Monsters, Inc. buddy pass was offered many rows went empty.

Note that the buddy pass will not always be offered. Please be kind to Cast Members if they say that the service is not being offered at that time.
