Take These 13 Photos and Screenshots at Disneyland to Avoid Issues Later

Over the years, a lot of the Disneyland vacationing process has switched to a digital platform. Unfortunately, even though these electronic tools and advancements can be quite helpful and beneficial, technology isn’t always the most reliable. While trying to access these tools on the Disneyland app, you may experience some technical difficulties.

If the app isn’t loading, experiences a glitch, or your information disappears completely, you want to be prepared with the necessary information. By taking screenshots of these important details, you can make sure that you’re prepared, no matter what issues may arise. In the event that something would go wrong, you’ll have the necessary tools to get the issue quickly taken care of with Guest Services.

1. E-Tickets

Disneyland tickets

The most important pieces of documentation that you’ll need on your Disneyland vacation are your tickets. Today, eTickets, which can be accessed electronically, are the most common ticket type. While some opt to print their eTickets, most Guests prefer to stick with the electronic version.

After you receive your tickets, take a screenshot of the barcode that’s on them. Each ticket has its own unique barcode, so make that you take a screenshot of each one. These are the barcodes that the Cast Members will scan at the turnstiles before you enter.

It’s important that you take these screenshots since technology can be unpredictable at times. Having a “hard copy” of your tickets saved to your camera roll, will ensure that you have access to the park each day.

2. Mobile Order Details

It seems like, whenever we get hungry at Disneyland, everybody else does too. Dining locations can quickly fill up with large crowds of Guests who are all eager to replenish and recharge. Luckily, there’s a great tool on the Disneyland app that allows us to bypass these lines.

With Mobile Ordering, we can select a dining location, order our food and drinks, and pay for the order on our phone. This can be used for snacks, drinks, full meals, and even select souvenir items. After the order has been placed, we check-in after we arrive at the restaurant, wait for the notification that lets us know it’s ready, and then pick it up at the designated pick-up window. Easy!

As with anything else, we recommend that you take a screenshot of the order confirmation page, just as a precautionary measure. While technological advances have allowed us to now have tools like Mobile Order, it’s not always reliable. To ensure that you get the food and beverage items that you ordered, and at the correct time, keep a copy of the receipt so you can quickly pull it up if necessary.

3. Mobile Checkout Receipts

Here at Mickey Visit, we love to skip lines whenever we can. By doing so, we can save time at rides and attractions, when we get food and drinks, and even when we shop! This is made possible at shopping locations thanks to Disneyland’s Merchandise Mobile Checkout.

With Merchandise Mobile Checkout, Guests are able to scan all of the items that they’re wanting to purchase, and pay, right on their phone! This is done quickly and easily in the Disneyland app. After the items are paid for, Guests must stop at a Merchandise Mobile Checkout exit, show their receipt to a Cast Member, and then they can be on their way!

To avoid any issues, and the possibility of being in the store longer than you would have had you waited in the line, take a screenshot of your receipt. This way, you’ll have your receipt handy and ready to show to the Cast Member. You won’t have to worry about the possibility of the app glitching out, your receipt getting lost, or a slow load time. You can simply pull up your screenshot, show it to the Cast Member, and continue your magical day.

4. Dining Reservations

Lamplight Lounge food options

One of the most sought after reservation types at Disneyland are dining reservations. There are many popular restaurants on property, such as Lamplight Lounge, Blue Bayou, Plaza Inn, and Carthay Circle. If you’re wanting to enjoy a meal at one of Disneyland’s full-service restaurants, we highly recommend booking a dining reservation as early as you possibly can. Often, these restaurants become fully booked, very quickly.

If you’re able to score a reservation for your must-visit restaurant, you won’t want to risk missing out on the experience. Especially due to technical errors. As soon as you book your reservation, and receive a confirmation, take a screenshot! This will give you the reassurance that no matter what, you’ll be able to enjoy the dining experience that you planned for.

5. Enchanting Extras Information

If you’re wanting to add some extra magic to your trip, consider taking part in one of Disneyland’s Enchanting Extras. A variety of fun extras are available at Disneyland Park, including a princess or knight makeover at Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique, droid and lightsaber building at Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, and multiple guided tours!

As with any reservation, it’s never a bad idea to take a screenshot of your confirmation, just in case any issues arise. Your Enchanting Extras confirmation will state the location, date, and time of your reservation, as well as which Guests are taking part in the activity.

6. Park Pass Reservations

Park Pass Reservations are still required at Disneyland Resort. This means that you’ll need to pick which park you want to visit on each day of your vacation. If you have Park Hopper tickets or a Magic Key pass, you’ll need to select which park you want to start your day out in.

There have been multiple instances where Park Pass Reservations have simply disappeared from Guests’ My Day plans. When this happens, it understandably results in stress and worry. While the reservation may indeed be showing on Disney’s side of things, it’s unnerving when you can’t see it within your own plans. Especially since Park Pass Reservations are a requirement for entrance.

While these technical difficulties are rare, they do still happen on occasion. To avoid any problems, it’s a good idea to take a screenshot of your Park Pass Reservations, just to be safe.

7. Virtual Queues

World of Color

Currently, there are no rides or attractions at Disneyland that are using virtual queues. However, a virtual queue is still being used for the nighttime spectacular, World of Color – ONE. By joining the virtual queue, you’ll be able to view the show from a preferred viewing area in Paradise Gardens Park. Since World of Color – ONE is so popular, we highly recommend that you attempt to secure a spot in the virtual queue.

(Another great way to experience the show is by attending the World of Color Dessert Party, which we discuss in full in our guide.)

If you’re lucky enough to get into the World of Color – ONE virtual queue, take a screenshot of the confirmation! The confirmation screen will have helpful information on it, such as showtimes, viewing entrances, and when you should arrive at the viewing area. You won’t want to lose track of this information, so adding it to your camera roll will guarantee quick and easy access to the virtual queue details whenever you need them.

8. Lightning Lane Multi-Pass Confirmation

The purchase of Lightning Lane Multi-Pass is one that most Guests put a lot of consideration into. Due to the per-person/per-day price of the pass, it can become a big financial factor for a Disneyland vacation. However, if you do decide to take the plunge, it can be a very beneficial tool that helps you experience shorter wait times and get more accomplished during your day.

Since Lightning Lane Multi-Pass is a significant purchase, you don’t want to risk losing access to it if something goes wrong. If the app were to crash, your Lightning Lane Multi-Pass was no longer showing, or you weren’t able to make Lightning Lane selections, you wouldn’t want to be out of the money that you spent.

This is why we recommend taking a screenshot of the confirmation of your Lightning Lane Multi-Pass purchase. If the app were to give you difficulties and indicate that you didn’t make the purchase, you’ll be able to confirm that you did.

9. Lightning Lane Passes

Anytime you book a Lightning Lane Pass, whether it’s a Multi-Pass or a Single Pass, you should take a screenshot of the confirmation. The Disneyland app, just like any other, is subject to the possibility of technical difficulties. There have been times when Guests have had trouble loading their Lightning Lane Passes or the app experienced a glitch that resulted in Lightning Lane Passes disappearing.

These issues can be quickly resolved for Guests who have proof of their Lightning Lane selection. By taking a screenshot, you’ll have added security and peace of mind, just in case something were to go wrong.

10. Your Next Lightning Lane Selection Time

Matterhorn Bobsleds entrance

If you have Lightning Lane Multi-Pass, you’ll be able to continuously book Lightning Lane Passes throughout the day. A new Lightning Lane Pass can be booked after the initial one is used or after 120 minutes have passed. For some Guests, this can be a confusing concept. Others find that it’s difficult to keep track of time, in order to know when the next one can be booked.

Luckily, on the Tip Board, it specifically states what time you’ll be able to book your next Lightning Lane Pass. It’s very helpful to take a screenshot of this. That way, you can have it readily available whenever you need to check it.

Some Guests opt to set a timer or alarm, so they can be alerted when it’s time to book their next Lightning Lane Pass. However, we find that this method can be disruptive to other Guests, especially if you happen to be at an indoor show or attraction when the alert goes off. By taking a screenshot of the next booking time, you’ll have a quick and easy reminder that’s not disruptive to others.

11. PhotoPass QR Code

Disneyland PhotoPass card

At Disneyland, MagicBands are used less frequently than at Walt Disney World. This is mostly because only MagicBand+ can be used at Disneyland, while all versions are functional at Walt Disney World. Not all Guests are willing to splurge on this pricier, upgraded version. Especially if they have multiple people in their travel party.

While MagicBands aren’t required at either park, they’re the most popular way to add your PhotoPass photos to your Disney account at Walt Disney World. At Disneyland, however, the most common method is to have the PhotoPass QR code, that’s located in the Disneyland app, scanned by the PhotoPass photographer.

To guarantee that you can always quickly and easily get to your PhotoPass code, take a screenshot of it! By having your QR code saved to your camera roll, you’ll never have to worry about the quickness or reliability of the app. Your code will always be readily available, so you’ll never have to miss out on any of your pictures.

12. Disneyland Maps

If you’ve never been to Disneyland, or you’re not familiar enough with the layout to know your way around, the maps on the Disneyland app can be extremely helpful! Not only can the maps help you find your way around the parks, they can also help you see specific things around the park, such as wait times, attractions, entertainment offerings, dining locations, and character spots. By taking a screenshot of each of these maps, you’ll be able to quickly reference them when necessary.

If you’d prefer to have physical copies of the Disneyland maps on hand, we have printable PDFs of all of the Disneyland Resort maps.

13. Entertainment Schedules

Dapper Dans

Disneyland offers wonderful entertainment, including parades, fireworks shows, nighttime entertainment, and atmosphere entertainment. It can sometimes be difficult to keep track of all of the different offerings and showtimes.

As a result, Guests often have to load up the app on multiple occasions and maneuver through a number of different tabs in order to get to the information that they’re looking for. Sometimes, after going through all that effort, they’re disappointed to find that they’ve missed a show that they really wanted to see. This can be easily avoided by taking a screenshot of the entertainment schedules, and having the showtimes on hand at all times.

After getting a better idea of which entertainment offerings you’d like to see, make sure to take a screenshot of the times and information for this specific show. This will help keep your camera roll from being overcrowded with information, and solely focusing on your must-see entertainment.
