One Big Thing – Easter at Disneyland! Easter Bunny Arrives
Easter is this week on Sunday, April 20! The Disneyland Easter Eggstravaganza runs through Monday, April 21. This is a fun search for character-themed eggs throughout the resort. This is also the final week to enjoy many of the Easter-themed treats available across the resort. You can see more details in our Disneyland Easter guide.
The Easter Bunny is now appearing at Disneyland at Town Square to celebrate Easter! You can see the times he's appearing on the Disneyland app.
If you're visiting on Easter Day, you can enjoy character dining brunch or dinner at Storytellers Cafe as part of “Hop Into Easter at Storytellers Cafe.” This is a one-day offering only! You can read more about this special Easter dining experience for details on the pricing, menu, and more. Brunch times have booked up for the experience, but there are still several dinner times available.
Important Disneyland Dates This Week
- Pride Nite Tickets go on sale to the general public starting Thursday, April 17, 2025. Tickets will go on pre-sale to Magic Key holders on Wednesday, April 16. This event will sell out, so make sure to grab your tickets quickly! See details in our Disneyland Pride Nite guide here and our review of the party from last year.
- Create Your Own Hat is now available at Disneyland! The plushes for the popular Create Your Own Headband can now be used for a hat! This is a great option for those who don't like the feel of headbands or prefer a hat for sun protection. The hats are black and feature a simple Disneyland D design. See our “Other Disney Content We're Watching” section further into the article for a look at this new offering!
- Shadows of Memory: A Skywalker Saga will run 3 times nightly (8:30 pm, 9:30 pm & 10:15 pm) from April 14th – 17th. This projection show has been a very well-received addition to Galaxy's Edge! We're really hoping that Disneyland keeps it around after Season of the Force ends.
- Tropical Hideaway is finally back on mobile order! The lines for this can get super long, so the ability to mobile order here is a great time saver. It’s now called “Tropical Hideaway Express.”
- The Disney California Food & Wine Festival ends on Monday, April 21. Make sure to use your remaining Sip and Savor coupons before then if you have any left! See our guide to the Disney California Food & Wine Festival and our review of all of the foods we tried this year.
- A special event closes Disney California Adventure at 9 pm on Monday, April 21. Technically, this doesn't have a major impact on operations because the parks both have shorter hours on that day.
Key Disneyland News You Missed
- We finally have a sign that progress for Porto's at Disneyland is moving forward! This highly anticipated new location was first announced 2.5 years ago, so fans have been eager to see new developments. See more details in our news coverage here.
- Star Wars Nite kicked off last week, and we attended one of the first parties. You can see our Disneyland Star Wars Nite review for details on our experience and whether or not it's worth it! Also, check out our Disneyland Star Wars Nite food guide for a full list of all the galactic dishes you can enjoy with pictures and descriptions.
- Disneyland announced a special 70th anniversary tour and a voting process for scenes in the new anniversary World of Color show. You can see details about these Disneyland 70th anniversary announcements here.
- Disneyland 70th anniversary dining packages for the Pixar parade and new World of Color show Dessert Party bookings are now open. You can see details about what is included in these two dining packages in our coverage here.
- In an interesting move, Disney is now openly discussing membership for its exclusive Club 33. See our separate article for more details and our thoughts on why they're doing this.
- Disneyland Magic Key annual pass holders were recently sent a survey that hinted at new benefits Disney could be considering for the program. These were very interesting and I am quite curious to see if any make it into the program. See details about what Disney may be considering for Magic Key holders in our separate article here.
- Disneyland announced a new Key to Disneyland interactive experience for the 70th anniversary celebration, as well as some new merchandise we expect will be popular. See details on this interesting new scavenger hunt activity and the merchandise revealed.
- The Star Wars Season of the Force celebration recently kicked off, and highlights include an impressive new projection show in Galaxy's Edge and Luke Skywalker meeting guests in the land. You can read our separate articles on why we disagree with guest criticism of this character encounter and why the new Star Wars projection show surprised us.

Disneyland Operational Updates
- Disneyland has longer hours of operation this week with Disneyland Park open until 12 am and Disney California Adventure open until 10 pm (switching back to shorter hours on the 21st). Disney California Adventure closes at 9pm on Monday the 21st for a special event. This technically doesn't affect the hours of operation because they're already shorter for both parks that day.
- The World of Color – One show runs each night along with the Mickey's Mix Magic show. Fireworks will be shown along with the projection show Friday-Sunday. Fantasmic! will also play on the weekend.
- Disneyland has not announced a parade that will be offered in the time between now and the 70th anniversary celebration (click here for details). There is currently a Mickey and Friends Cavalcade along the parade route at Disneyland Park twice a day. Disneyland will be bringing back Paint the Night and Better Together: A Pixar Pals Celebration starting in May 2025.
What We're Thinking About This Week
- Emily is really crossing her fingers that “Shadows of Memory: A Skywalker Saga” stays in Galaxy's Edge past the Season of the Force celebration in the same way that the Fire of the Rising Moons fireworks did. Disneyland did such an excellent job with this show—she could just watch it again and again!
- Gavin is excited to see Porto's finally moving forward. The bakery will be a huge hit with Disneyland fans and I hope that we can take the news from today as a sign that this will finally be sped into development.
- Lindsay is excited that Pride Nite has become a consistent fixture in the Disneyland After Dark lineup. She loves to see Disney continue to celebrate inclusivity with this event and the fan costumes are always so fun to see on social media!
