Disneyland Delays Return of Classic Attraction That Will Soon Feature New Disney Pixar Characters

A classic Disneyland ride has been under refurbishment for a while now, with the closure split into two parts before and after last year's holiday season. We recently got news of this attraction's reopening date and a new addition that will be featured, but now, this date has been pushed back.

This ride was originally supposed to reopen right before a big batch of closures following the peak spring break season, but it will be closed for a couple more weeks than expected. Keep reading for more details…

Disneyland Ride Closure Extended

"it's a small world" sign at Disneyland

At Disneyland, “it's a small world” has been closed since late January for refurbishment. This closure was planned in two parts before and after the holiday celebration. While the original reopening date was April 25, this date has now been pushed back a couple of weeks to May 9, 2025.

As always, whenever a ride is closed for a bigger refurbishment, reopening dates are just an estimate. Sometimes further work is needed, especially for an older attraction like “it's a small world.”

When the ride reopens, it will feature Miguel and Dante from Coco as part of the Mexico area in the attraction. This new addition debuts as part of Disneyland's 70th anniversary celebration at Disneyland. Later this summer, the ride will add a third verse to its iconic “It's a Small World” song to honor Disney Legend Richard Sherman.
