Breakfast at Your Hotel- Best Disneyland Breakfast Option
If you are looking to save time in the mornings at Disneyland, then you should opt for eating breakfast at your hotel before you arrive. The morning is the best time at Disneyland to enjoy rides and you don't want to waste a minute of it. If you are following our Disneyland morning rope drop strategy or our Disney California Adventure morning rope drop strategy, you'll notice that this is our top recommendation to maximize your time in the parks.
There are a variety of best hotels near Disneyland with many of them offering a FREE breakfast buffet. One of my favorites is the Element by Westin Anaheim Resort Convention Center which included a pretty impressive daily breakfast that rotated options on a daily basis and was always fresh.
There are also Walgreens and CVS options on the corner of Katella and Harbor Boulevard where you can pick up simple breakfast options. Closer to Disneyland there are also locations of Panera Bread, McDonald's, and IHop.
However, sometimes you just want to enjoy a leisurely breakfast in Disneyland or perhaps you find yourself hungry around breakfast (what Disneyland often considers prior to 10AM or 11AM ) so here are the best Disneyland breakfast options.
Disneyland Breakfast Options
There are multiple options for breakfast at Disneyland including table service and quick service options in both Disneyland and Disney California Adventure. The on-site Disney hotels also offer character dining breakfast options along with their own quick service restaurants which are helpful for guests staying on site.
Downtown Disney is undergoing a transformation and once it's completed, we'll see more offerings for Disneyland breakfast that will be a hit with guests. This includes the popular Porto's Bakery which will be a hit with guests and greatly expand the breakfast options in Downtown Disney.
Let's break down all the best Disneyland breakfast restaurants with quick service in both theme parks, table service, character dining, and Downtown Disney.
Best Disneyland Quick Service Breakfast
All the Disneyland quick service breakfast locations open at 8AM. Some offer mobile ordering and many locations offer breakfast until 10AM or 1030AM.
Ship to Shore Marketplace
Ship to Shore Marketplace is a grab and go stand in Frontierland next to the boarding area for the Mark Twain and Columbia. This is breakfast spot is a bit of a hidden secret amongst locals as it sells the popular Breakfast Chimichanga. These chimichangas are hearty and filled with sausage, bacon, eggs, and cheese. This is one of the best cheapest and quickest breakfast options at Disneyland.
These will sell out quickly, they only have a certain amount for the morning, so stop by here right away if you want one! This is a local Disneyland breakfast favorite.
Ronto Roasters
Ronto Roasters is located in Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge and serves the popular Ronto Morning Wrap. The Ronto Morning Wrap contains eggs, grilled pork sausage, cheddar, and peppercorn sauce in pita bread. If wraps aren't your thing, you can purchase a mixture of oats with dragon fruit and yogurt.
We love the wraps here, this is a great place to grab a quick breakfast.
Jolly Holiday Bakery Cafe
Jolly Holiday Bakery Cafe is one of my favorite Disneyland quick service locations. The breakfast menu offers a egg and bacon croissant, yogurt parfaits, and fresh fruit. You can also get any of their available daytime pastries, coffee, espresso, and lattes.
Galactic Grill
Galactic Grill is one one of the more underwhelming quick-service locations in Disneyland but they have a great breakfast menu. This is another perfect option for a Disneyland breakfast. Our favorite option here is the American Breakfast burrito with egg, bacon, sausage, hash browns, and cheese. They also offer a vegetarian breakfast burrito with soy chorizo, potatoes, egg, cheddar, onion, peppers, pico de gallo, and chiptole sauce.
Galactic Grill is located in Tomorrowland and also offers mobile ordering. This is one of the most filling breakfast options in the park!
Red Rose Taverne
Red Rose Taverne is a Beauty and the Beast themed quick service location in Fantasyland. For breakfast they offer gourmet breakfast sandwiches and these will be a bit nicer quality than some of the other grab and go options. Their gourmet breakfast sandwich is a herb blend and creme fraiche egg, maple butter spread, muenster and bacon on a brioche-style Bun. Guests can also enjoy pancakes, eggs, potato bites, bacon and sausage.
You an also opt for something off their main menu like at flatbread.
This is one of the best quick service breakfast spots in Disneyland! Most days Red Rose Taverne opens at 9AM.
Royal Street Veranda
Royal Street Veranda is one of the newest breakfast locations at Disneyland with a recently added menu item added to their lineup. Located in New Orleans Square, the breakfast menu includes a waffle cristo: ham and turkey on a swiss waffle dusted in powdered sugar served with a side of strawberry preserves and maple syrup.
Mint Julep Bar
While not the first thing to come in mind for breakfast, Mint Julep Bar opens at 8AM and is serving their famous beignets and mint juleps right at park open. If you like donuts, I don't think a beignet is far off and our family has hit up the Mint Julep Bar more than once in the morning.
This location is popular, even in the morning, so take advantage of mobile ordering.
Market House
Market House is the Starbucks location in Disneyland on Main Street, U.S.A. This is a pretty traditional Starbucks serving all the usual drinks and breakfast options.
The only downside to the Market House is that this will have the longest lines in the morning of any other breakfast location in the park as everyone clamors to get their coffee at the beginning of the day. While I love Starbucks, I avoid this location first thing in the morning for this reason.
Fruit Carts
There are fruit and snack stands scattered around the parks with fresh fruit, drinks, snacks like hummus and pretzels. I personally always try to fit a banana into my day and if I'm not able to grab one from the breakfast in the morning I will give in and buy the comparatively overpriced bananas on the stand.
Best Disney California Adventure Quick Service Breakfast
Disney California Adventure doesn't offer quite as many breakfast options in the park like Disneyland but there are a few places to grab breakfast including one of our favorites.
Pym Test Kitchen
Pym Test Kitchen is located in Avengers Campus themed to the Ant Man & The Wasp films. This is one of my favorite quick service spots in Disney California Adventure and the breakfast options are just as good as the lunch menu.
For breakfast, they offer eggs with bacon, potato bites, and a variety of french toast options. There is also a great vegetarian option with a plant-based folden omlet with Impossible sausage, potato bites, and focaccia toast.
Shawarma Palace
There are two Shawarma wrap carts in Avengers Campus: one not far from Pym Test Kitchen and one in front of the Hyperion Theater. Both these stands offer a breakfast shawarma wrap. This is a plant-based breakfast sausage and egg omelet wrap with dairy-free American cheese and potato bites.
We actually call this out as a hidden breakfast item that you should consider.
These stands make for a great place to quickly grab a bite to eat as you work through our Disney California Adventure morning strategy.
Smokejumpers Grill
Smokejumpers Grill is a large quick service location next to Soarin' with plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. The breakfast menu at Smokejumpers Grill includes a breakfast sandwich, breakfast burrito, and plant-based chorizo burrito.
This is a great spot to stop for breakfast that has a few more options plus areas to sit down.
Schmoozies!
If you're looking for a breakfast smoothies then Schmoozies! is a great stop to make in the morning. Keep in mind they often open later than the rest of the park, usually at 9AM. Smoothie options here include mango, strawberry-banana and a cold brew blend.
Cappuccino Cart
The Cappuccino Cart located near the walkway to Pixar Pier serves a wide variety of coffee option plus offers croissants and a steak and egg breakfast burrito. This is a great place to grab coffee especially if you are looking to avoid the long lines at Starbucks first thing in the morning.
Here's a look at the burrito from a recent morning when we were enjoying breakfast here. We carried the burrito over to the covered area near the Incredicoaster launch for some covered bench seating.
Fiddler, Fifer & Practical Cafe
Fiddler, Fifer & Practical Cafe is the Starbucks location in Disney California Adventure on Buena Vista Street. This is a pretty traditional Starbucks serving all the usual drinks and breakfast options. This location can have some long lines, especially in the morning but it often has far less than the Market House Starbucks in Disneyland.
Many folks do not realize this is even a Starbucks so this is my favorite place to grab a Starbucks when in the parks!
Corn Dog Castle
Corn Dog Castle is open for breakfast but unfortunately it no longer offers the breakfast sausage corn dog. It is offering its whole menu at opening time so if you don't mind a regular corn dog or my favorite, corn dog filled with cheese, for breakfast then this is a perfect option!
Fruit Carts
There are fruit and snack stands scattered around the parks with fresh fruit, drinks, snacks like hummus and pretzels.
Top Disneyland Sit-Down Breakfast
There are four sit down restaurants offering Disneyland breakfast options in both Disneyland and California Adventure. Table service restaurants offer reservations up to 60 days in advance of your trip but these restaurants also talk walk ups which do not fill up quite as fast for breakfast as they do for other meals during the day. Some of the locations that offer breakfast are on our top list of favorite table service restaurants.
Lamplight Lounge
Lamplight Lounge is a Pixar themed table service on Pixar Pier and is one the best restaurants in Disneyland. They offer a fantastic brunch option on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays. Unfortunately, it is not offered on weekdays which only increases the popularity. These dining reservations for brunch go quickly so you want to reserve your spot as soon as possible.
Along with a great drink menu, there's a diverse brunch menu featuring spiced ham benedict, avocado toast, french toast, egg white frittata bake and a breakfast burger. My favorite items it the Indulgent French Toast and the Cinnamon Toast Cocktail. Absolutely one of the best brunch spots in Disneyland!
Minnie & Friends Breakfast in the Park- Character Dining at Plaza Inn
This is the only character dining option available in the theme parks and its located at Plaza Inn in Disneyland. You will meet Minnie Mouse at this character dining meal along with a great variety of characters like Captain Hook, Tigger, Winnie the Pooh, and more. This is a buffet breakfast experience with Mickey waffles, breakfast potatoes, bacon, sausage, eggs, omelette station and more.
Minnie & Friends Breakfast in the Park is only available for breakfast until 11AM. Since it is offered until 11AM, one of my favorite methods to enjoy this experience is to make a latter reservation for 10:30AM so we can eat after we're done rope dropping Disneyland.
Carnation Café
Carnation Café is a Disneyland classic located on Main Street, U.S.A. in Disneyland. They offer a full breakfast which is a great way to take in the morning. The breakfast menu includes American classics like pancakes, Mickey waffles, a breakfast sandwich and skillet plus Walt's Chili Cheese Omelette inspired by Walt Disney's favorite recipe of chili.
Reservations for breakfast are usually available via walk up but as always, reserve your table in advance if you are worried about not being able to get a reservation.
You can read our Carnation Café review to see why we love this historic Disneyland restaurant.
River Belle Terrace
River Belle Terrace is a Southern themed restaurant located in Disneyland. This Frontierland restaurant overlooks the Rivers of America with a great patio and indoor dining options. While not our top rated Disneyland restaurant, the brunch option here is worth considering.
The brunch menu features an American breakfast with egg, sausage and bacon, short stack pancakes, seasonal pancakes and biscuits and gravy. There are also lunch options available during brunch like the fried chicken sandwich, country cuban sandwich, and more.
Best Disneyland Hotel Character Dining Breakfast
There are three Disneyland character dining options at the official Disneyland hotels.
The hotels all have their own quick-service grab and go breakfast options which is helpful for guests staying on-site at the Disneyland hotels.
Princess Breakfast Adventures
This is the most premium Disneyland character dining option at the Grand Californian Hotel & Spa. This luxury Disneyland Princess dining experience includes a three-course breakfast in the fine dining option of Napa Rose and multiple interactions with Disney Princesses. Princesses will share storytelling moments featuring tales of empowerment out on the patio after breakfast.
This character dining takes up a bit more time than the rest and is one of the most expensive out of the character dining options. But it's a great choice for guests looking to splurge on a special Princess breakfast experience.
See some more of the Disneyland splurges that may be worth the cost for your trip!
Goofy's Kitchen- Disneyland Hotel
Goofy’s Kitchen at the Disneyland hotel offers a breakfast buffet option with a vareity of characters including Goofy. Possible character meet and greets include Pluto, Baloo from the Jungle Book, Aladdin and Jasmine, Alice from Alice in Wonderland, Chip or Dale, and Pinocchio.
This option is also known for its more adventurous buffet options like its famous peanut butter and jelly pizza. There will also be holiday themed options at this location throughout the year.
Read our full review of Goofy's Kitchen to see why it's one of our favorite experiences.
Mickey’s Tales of Adventure Breakfast- Grand Californian Hotel & Spa
Mickey’s Tales of Adventure Breakfast is a buffet style meal that has food that appeals to kids and adults alike. The buffet is great here and the best out of all the Disneyland hotel character dining options.
This is the only breakfast character dining experience where you can meet Mickey Mouse. This is a great reason to go, simply because you will avoid the long lines to meet Mickey Mouse in Toontown. This is character dining experience

Best Downtown Disney Breakfast
Downtown Disney is undergoing large changes with brand new restaurants coming soon which will greatly expand the dining options. Currently, the breakfast options are pretty limited but this will improve in the future once all the renovations are complete! New breakfast options coming to Downtown Disney in the future include the popular Porto's Bakery and a brand new coffee spot.
In the meantime, there are still some options to consider for breakfast in Downtown Disney especially if you are looking for coffee with a shorter line.
Jamba
Jamba is known for its wide menu of smoothies but this location also offers matcha tea, cold brew, and breakfast items. While the menu of breakfast meals aren't too expansive, there are classics offered like belgian waffles and egg bakes.
You will also find Jamba to have one of the shorter lines in the morning compared with Starbucks but your coffee options here are pretty limited. Perfect place for smoothie fans!
Starbucks
There is a Starbucks location in Downtown Disney and this one will be far less crowded than the main location (Market House) in Disneyland. Sometimes this location will offer mobile ordering with the Starbucks app but this isn't consistent. It's always worth checking though as this will be a big time saver.
This Starbucks location serves the traditional Starbucks menu which includes breakfast food items along with their drinks.
Naples Ristorante e Bar
Currently the best, and only, true brunch option in Downtown Disney is Naples Ristorante e Bar. This is a table service restaurant and a great place to enjoy brunch. The brunch menu includes eggs benedict, avocado toast, ricotta pancakes, apple bake, and traditional sides like bacon.
This is going to be your best option for high quality brunch food in Downtown Disney.
Read our dinner review of Naples Ristorante e Bar to see why we love this dining spot.
Earl of Sandwich
Earl of Sandwich is a well kept secret for breakfast options in Downtown Disney! Most guests wouldn't expect a sandwich shop to offer breakfast but Earl of Sandwich has a few popular breakfast sandwiches available right at 8AM.
Options for breakfast include sandwiches with ham, bacon, eggs, cheddar, and a breakfast BLT sandwich. This is a great place to grab a quick and filling breakfast before starting the day at the theme parks.
