Napa Rose Renovation In Progress

Napa Rose at the Grand Californian

The Napa Rose at Disney's Grand Californian Hotel & Spa closed earlier this year in April for a multi-month renovation. This signature fine dining experience is known as the “culinary crown jewel” of the Disneyland Resort hotels, with an award-winning wine list and award-winning cuisine by Chef Andrew Sutton. This location is also home to the luxurious Disney Princess Breakfast Adventures Disneyland character dining experience, featuring a three-course breakfast and encounters with several Disney princesses.

The renovation of the Napa Rose will implement some new changes, including an expanded exhibition kitchen, enhanced patio seating with new fireplaces, and a new menu that will include both new offerings and some fan-favorites, as well as its extensive wine collection. The new look of the restaurant “celebrates Craftsman design with an eye toward modern Californian luxury and approachability.” You can see all details about the Disneyland Napa Rose closure here.

While this renovation is happening, guests can enjoy Disney Princess Breakfast Adventures in its temporary location in the Trillium Room at Disney's Grand Californian. The Napa Rose is expected to have a grand reopening in the fall of 2025. No further details on the reopening date have been given yet.

New Lounges at Disney's Grand Californian and Disneyland Hotel

Another major change coming to Disney's Grand Californian is the addition of a new club-level concierge lounge. The new 2-story lounge, slated to open in 2026, is a celebration of classic California Craftsman design that draws inspiration from giant sequoias, building on the beautiful architecture of Disney's Grand Californian lobby that we love. The lounge will be located on the 5th and 6th floors. It will have expansive skylights that will let in natural light and the glow of the sunset, as well as a two-story stained-glass door and a curved staircase leading to the mezzanine.

A new concierge lounge also recently opened at the Adventure Tower in the Disneyland Hotel, which nearly doubles the space of the previous concierge lounge. The new High Key Club is inspired by the legacy of original and classic sounds at Disneyland Park. The space celebrates the music, artists, musicians, and voices of early Disneyland, as well as the unique instruments, bands, foley sounds, and history of audible magic at the park, with a custom soundtrack and prominent artifacts. Concierge-level guests can enjoy breakfast, snacks, and beverages throughout the day, as well as a view of the fireworks with music on nights when they are offered. You can see a tour and details of the recently opened lounge in our separate article here.

Early Entry Is Going Away Next Year

disneyland early entry hotel guests perk

Disneyland will soon be ending the Early Entry perk for Disneyland Resort hotel guests, which gives them 30-minute early access to select attractions, dining, and shopping at a designated theme park for each day of their stay. Right now, Early Entry is offered at Disneyland Park on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays, and at Disney California Adventure Park on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays.

Beginning January 5, 2026, Early Entry will no longer be offered for hotel guests. Disneyland shared that the reason for this is that, on average, the majority of hotel guests were not taking advantage of this offering, and sometimes it did not align with the park where they had theme park reservations for 1 Park Per Day tickets.

The perk of early access to the parks had already been scaled back in recent years. The former Magic Morning also used to provide an hour of early access before park opening in Disneyland Park to all guests with 3-day or longer tickets purchased in advance. Both Magic Morning and Early Entry were previously a full hour, before Early Entry was scaled back to 30 minutes and then limited to a specific designated theme park.

When Early Entry goes away, it will be replaced by a…

New Lightning Lane Perk for Hotel Guests In 2026

Lightning Lane Multi Pass ride Incredicoaster at Disney California Adventure

Starting January 5, 2026, guests will receive one Lightning Lane entry for an available Lightning Lane Multi Pass attraction of their choice to use during their stay, subject to attraction availability. This new perk provides a little more flexibility for hotel guests, as they can enjoy expedited access to an attraction on their own time rather than having to get up very early in the morning.

In our initial report of this change, we mentioned that we are a little surprised to see that the offering is just one Lightning Line entry per length of stay and discussed some of the reasons why they may be limiting this. If the removal of the Early Entry perk causes a decline in demand for the Disneyland Resort hotels (as many will likely now turn to some of the closest walking distance hotels on Harbor Boulevard), it is possible that we may see an expanded number of Lightning Lanes included in this new perk.

Disney's Grand Californian Hotel Room Renovations In Progress

All guest rooms at Disney's Grand Californian, including the Disney Vacation Club Villas, are getting a soft goods refresh. The decor builds on the existing Arts and Crafts style while adding new bold colors across the carpets, upholstery, and bedding, with “accents inspired by the beautiful California wildflower blooms often found in Impressionistic plein air paintings” that influenced the art movement of the Arts and Crafts period. The rooms will also have new artwork commissioned from local plein air painters.

Private Hotel Theme Park Entrance Closing

Pixar Place Hotel exit

Another major change coming in 2026 is the removal of the private theme park entrance to Disney California Adventure across from the Pixar Place Hotel. This entrance will be closing for the foreseeable future with no plans to reopen. It will close on January 5, 2026, the same date that Early Entry will be replaced by the new Lightning Lane perk.

Disneyland shared that they are closing this entrance because it was underutilized by Pixar Place Hotel guests. We never saw much traffic coming through this gate when we used it in the middle of the day. They had already started to scale back the hours of this private entrance earlier this year, only allowing entry until noon. This perk will still be available through the remainder of 2025, but after it ends, guests will be able to use the Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa private entrance into Disney California Adventure.

You can see our full report and details of the entrance gate closing here.
