Disneyland Napa Rose Closure Timeline 2025

Napa Rose at the Grand Californian

Napa Rose at the Grand Californian Hotel & Spa is closing for a renovation to introduce a new look that “celebrates Craftsman design with an eye toward modern Californian luxury and approachability.” These changes will enhance the design of the restaurant, enhance some of its existing offerings, and introduce a new menu.

Napa Rose is now closed at Disneyland. This will be a multi-month long closure as Napa Rose is slated to reopen in the fall of 2025. Disney has updated the page on the website to state:

“Napa Rose is temporarily closed for refurbishment. Guests can look forward to the restaurant’s exquisite new look and menu when it reopens in fall 2025.”

This closure is part of a larger push to renovate experiences at the Disneyland hotels. For the Grand Californian Hotel & Spa this also means that all guest rooms at the hotel, including the Disney Vacation Club Villas, will be refreshed with new decor, bedding, and more. Disney is also in the process of building a second concierge lounge at the hotel that will be completed in 2025 inspired by giant sequoias.

Temporary Location for Napa Rose and Disney Princess Breakfast Experience

This Disneyland restaurant is home to one of the finest dining experiences at the resort and the luxurious Disneyland character dining experience Disney Princess Breakfast Adventures featuring a 3-course breakfast and time with favorite princesses. Disneyland is keeping both these experiences running during Napa Rose's extended closure.

The dining experiences at Napa Rose will be moved to a temporary location in one of the ballrooms at the Grand Californian Hotel & Spa and this temporary location will run during the same hours as the current location from 5:30 PM-9 PM. The Disney Princess Breakfast Adventures will also still be happening in the ballroom from Thursday through Monday 8:00 AM to 11:00 AM.

No word on if any part of the Napa Rose bar and lounge experience will be transferred over here.

We assume that there will be more limited capacity for this offering since it is being held in a ballroom. It will also be lacking the ambiance of the restaurant, which is part of what makes dinner at Napa Rose such a nice experience. We won't be able to make a recommendation until we see how the experience is set up, but we likely don't recommend doing dinner there since it would feel a little bit less upscale than eating in the restaurant.

For the character dining, this remains a great way to meet a ton of princesses during the Disneyland Napa Rose closure. We could see this sneakily becoming an awesome way to meet princesses. Generally, we applaud the Grand Californian for maintaining a restaurant even during the closure. There are already a lot more restaurants at the hotel than at the Disneyland Hotel.

Napa Rose New Renovations Coming Soon

The renovation for Napa Rose will be inspired by California's history of wine and wine making with details like reclaimed French oak flooring and columns which are the same type of wood used to make wine barrels. Details will also include hand-pinged artisan metals, leathers, cabernet colors, and a chandelier inspired by California's grapevines.

The restaurant will also expand its counters where guests can watch the culinary team at work. There will also be more seating added to the patio, as well as two new fireplaces. There will be a new menu, but it will still include some fan-favorites and its extensive wine list.

These are changes that make a ton of sense to us. The counter seats are always very popular and allow the teams to deliver the Chef's Counter experience. This could allow them to expand that area. The outdoor space is also not very well used right now and is really only setup for receptions. Having outdoor tables and perhaps some heat lamps could allow them to expand further.

This new look for Napa Rose will continue to be inspired by the Craftsman design but also incorporate Californian luxury and rustic elegance.
