Disneyland Hotels Announce Big Hotel CHANGES Including New Lounges, Room Refreshes, and Restaurant Overhauls

Disneyland has announced that some exciting new additions and enhancements will be coming to its on-property hotels.

These plans will bring new offerings to all three of the Disneyland Resort hotels including the Grand Californian Hotel & Spa, Disneyland Hotel, and the recently reimagined Pixar Place Hotel. Disneyland has shared a look at the concepts and concept artwork for these new projects including a remodel of one of the resort's upscale restaurants, refreshed guest rooms, new themed suites, and new lounges.

New Changes Coming to On Property Disneyland Hotels

At the Grand Californian Hotel & Spa, Napa Rose, one of the Mickey Visit best Disneyland restaurants at the resort will be closing in the spring to be remodeled with a new interior and patio, and updates will be coming to the hotel's dining offerings. The restaurant is slated to reopen later this year in fall 2025. You can see all the details on the 2025 Disneyland Napa Rose closure here.

This new look “celebrates Craftsman design with an eye toward modern Californian luxury and approachability.” The dining location will have a “rustic elegance” and will tell the story of California's wine-making history with touches like reclaimed French oak flooring and columns (a type of wood used to make wine barrels), hand-pinged artisan metals, leathers, cabernet colors, and a chandelier inspired by California’s Mission grapevines.

The restaurant will also be expanding the counters where guests can watch the culinary team in action, and it will add more seating to the patio as well as two new fireplaces. There will be a new menu, but it will still feature some favorite offerings and its impressive wine collection of more than 1,500 labels.

We reported last year about Disneyland's hotel plans for a soft goods refresh for the Grand Californian, and we now have news on what these changes will entail. Disneyland has shared that all guest rooms at the hotel, including the Disney Vacation Club Villas, will soon be refreshed with new decor, bedding, and more. The hotel had previously through a hard goods refresh in 2017 when the rooms were fully redesigned.

The decor will go with the existing Arts and Crafts style but add some “bold” colors to the carpets, upholstery, and bedding. These accents are “inspired by the beautiful California wildflower blooms often found in Impressionistic plein air paintings” that influenced the art movement of the Arts and Crafts period. There will also be new artwork in each room commissioned from local plein air painters.

There are also plans in the works for a second concierge lounge at the hotel that will be completed in 2026. The lounge, located on the 5th and 6th floors, will be inspired by giant sequoias. This will be a two-story space featuring classic California Craftsman design, building off of the design of the Grand Californian's iconic lobby with columns and arches, wrought iron branching details, and tile murals. The lounge is designed to be filled with natural light during the daytime and a “golden glow at sunset” from skylights, and it will have a two-story stained-glass door and a curved staircase leading to the mezzanine.

You can see the concept art for this space below! It looks like it will be a really stunning space drawing upon the success of the design elements that make the Grand Californian lobby one of our favorite spaces.

The Disneyland Hotel will be opening a new concierge lounge this summer called the High Key Club, which will pay tribute to the music and sounds of Disneyland circa its opening year of 1955 and the mid-century modern aesthetic of the era.

The lounge will celebrate the “music, artists, musicians, and voices” of the time, as well as the “unique instruments, bands, foley sounds, and history of audible magic at the park that Walt Disney brought to life.” It will also feature prominent artifacts.

This new addition will double the space of the previous club-level lounge in the Adventure Tower and provide a place to watch fireworks with music.

Pixar Place Hotel, which recently reopened after its reimagining, will be getting two premium themed suites inspired by Coco and The Incredibles this summer. You can see our original tour of Pixar Place Hotel and how these new changes elevate the hotel with new theming and offerings.

The Coco Suite, inspired by the Rivera family's hacienda, will feature Oaxacan-style architecture with “terracotta tiling, Mexican artisan quilted and woven pieces, a fireplace, unique handcrafted wooden furniture, and thoughtful touches of hand-painted art.” You can see the concept art for this space below:

The story behind the Incredibles Suite is that Winston Deavor from the Incredibles 2 has designed a getaway for the Parr family, including a bedroom for the parents and a connecting room designed by Edna. The space will feature fun touches like a hand-scanning prop at the entryway, a spy phone, hidden messages, a secret door, and more.

  1. I just hope that one day they realize, that they can really just update this thing to be Pier themed, just like the land that it overlooks.
