Disneyland’s Fanciest Restaurant Will Have Extended Many-Month Closure

Disneyland just made some big announcements for its three on-property hotels with news of new lounges, room refreshes, and themed suites coming soon. One particularly notable part of this news is that one of Disneyland's top fanciest restaurants will be closing for a multi-month renovation.

This hotel restaurant is in the top five of our Mickey Visit best Disneyland restaurants ranking, and it will be getting some new enhancements soon to elevate the space and bring new menu offerings. Disneyland has shared details on the changes that will be coming to this upscale restaurant, new concept artwork for the space, and a timeline of how long its closure will last.

Disneyland has shared that Napa Rose at the Grand Californian Hotel & Spa will be closing for a renovation to introduce a new look that “celebrates Craftsman design with an eye toward modern Californian luxury and approachability.” These changes will enhance the design of the restaurant, enhance some of its existing offerings, and introduce a new menu. More details on the 2025 Napa Rose Disneyland closure here.

The renovated restaurant will be a “tapestry of California’s storied history of wine and wine making,” with decorative details like reclaimed French oak flooring and columns (a type of wood used to make wine barrels), hand-pinged artisan metals, leathers, cabernet colors, and a chandelier inspired by California’s Mission grapevines. The restaurant will also expand its counters where guests can watch the culinary team at work. There will also be more seating added to the patio, as well as two new fireplaces. There will be a new menu, but it will still include some fan-favorites and its extensive wine list.

These are changes that make a ton of sense to us. The counter seats are always very popular and allow the teams to deliver the Chef's Counter experience. This could allow them to expand that area. The outdoor space is also not very well used right now and is really only setup for receptions. Having outdoor tables and perhaps some heat lamps could allow them to expand further.

The restaurant is now closed, and it is slated to reopen in the fall of 2025 after its multi-month-long closure. While the restaurant is closed, there will also be temporary updates made to the other dining offerings at the hotel. The Storyteller's Cafe just reopend from a refurbishment and temporary dining is being offered in the ball rooms in place of Napa Rose. You can see details on those operations here.
