Overview of Disneyland Hotels

There are three Disneyland Resort hotels on property, and each one offers unique theming, dining, and more. Each of these hotels offers special perks for guests, which we will discuss in the section below.

Disneyland Hotel: This is the original hotel at Disneyland that features a modern design with three towers paying homage to each of the park’s original lands and the Disney Vacation Club Discovery Tower. This hotel is home to an impressive pool area including two monorail slides, popular restaurants like Goofy’s Kitchen character dining and Trader Sam’s Enchanted Tiki Bar, and magical Disney details in each room. The Disneyland Hotel is the second-closest resort hotel to the parks, situated at the west end of the Downtown Disney District.

Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa: This is the flagship hotel of the Disneyland Resort, offering elegant California Craftsman-style design and luxury amenities. The hotel contains the full-service Tenaya Stone Spa, an expansive pool area with hot tubs, and some of the best Mickey Visit Disneyland restaurants at the resort, including the signature restaurant Napa Rose, GCH Craftsman Bar, and character dining at Storytellers Cafe. This is the closest resort hotel to the theme parks and has a private entrance to Disney California Adventure.

Pixar Place Hotel: Pixar Place Hotel is a recently rethemed hotel that highlights the creative process behind the making of favorite Pixar characters and stories, featuring Pixar imagery at every turn. The hotel is home to a Finding Nemo-inspired pool area and games at “Pixar Shorts Court,” dining including the Great Maple Modern American Eatery, and a private entrance to Disney California Adventure. This is the least expensive of the three resort hotels, and it’s the furthest from the main entrance to Disneyland Park, at about a 15-minute walk through Downtown Disney.

Off-property, there are several Disneyland hotels in the surrounding area that vary in pricing and the amenities they offer. Many of these are within walking distance and are as close, if not closer, in some cases, than the Disney-owned hotels. There are several options available for both luxury and affordable hotels. For a parks-focused vacation, many visitors choose to stay at affordable hotels across the street from the resort that provide a clean and comfortable place to sleep. For those looking for more upscale hotel amenities, from impressive pool areas to quality dining, you’ll also find some great options among these off-property hotels. You can see details in our best hotels articles below.
