A new area themed to the extremely popular preschool series Bluey will open at Disney’s Animal Kingdom in Walt Disney World later this month. The location of the Bluey experience has some precarious logistics, and we’ve been wondering how Disney would approach the spot’s unique challenges with such a high-demand character. Disney finally shared those details, which we’ve simplified to help you plan your visit.
Bluey’s Disney World debut comes with character appearances, exclusive merchandise, new food, educational encounters, and the return of Disney World’s virtual queue system. We have details on all of it, organized by category. Mickey Visit brings you the latest Disney news and planning resources, including a new Dole Whip flavor at Disney World and Disney Hallmark ornaments now available.

Bluey Arrives at Disney World
The full, formal name of Disney World’s Bluey attraction is “Bluey’s Wild World at Conservation Station.” This area of Disney’s Animal Kingdom was formerly known as Rafiki’s Planet Watch, which featured the Conservation Station science facility. Much of the basic structure of Conservation Station will remain in place, with Bluey flourishes and activities now part of it.

Rafiki’s Planet Watch closed in February 2026 for Disney to transform the land into Bluey’s Wild World at Conservation Station, which will open on May 26, 2026.
Disney is promoting Bluey’s Wild World as part of Cool KIDS’ SUMMER, a season of activations and perks geared toward families with young kids. While some of the Cool KIDS’ SUMMER experiences, like a Toy Story party at Magic Kingdom, are temporary, Bluey’s Wild World is a long-term investment for Disney’s Animal Kingdom.

To access Bluey’s Wild World at Conservation Station, guests must ride the Wildlife Express Train from the park’s Africa area. We now know that, at least at first, this ride will require a virtual queue reservation.
Virtual Queue for Bluey at Disney World

A virtual queue will be in place for Bluey’s Wild World at Conservation Station when the area opens on May 26, 2026.
A standby line will not be offered. Guests will not be able to access any Bluey attractions at Animal Kingdom without a virtual queue reservation. Virtual queue reservations are obtained within the My Disney Experience app.
Bluey virtual queue reservations will drop twice daily, at 7 AM and 10 AM.
Guests can access the 7 AM drop from anywhere. They do not need to be physically at Disney’s Animal Kingdom. If it’s not a Good To Go Day, annual passholders must have a reservation for Disney’s Animal Kingdom to access this drop. Other guests do not need a park reservation.
Guests can only access the 10 AM drop if they are physically present at Disney’s Animal Kingdom.
Disney expects to eventually phase out the virtual queue for Bluey’s Wild World at Conservation Station, but did not specify an exact date for its discontinuation.
This is a process we’ve seen before for high-demand new attraction openings. For example, Tiana’s Bayou Adventure at Magic Kingdom opened with a virtual queue, but no longer has one. In that case, the virtual queue stuck around for eight months.
Some guests enjoy the peace of mind in securing a virtual queue reservation and knowing they’re guaranteed a spot for the day without waiting in an hours-long line. Other guests find virtual queues overcomplicated and would rather wait in a long line than learn another set of Disney rules, akin to Lightning Lane procedures or advanced dining reservations.
Disney Reveals How to See Bluey and Bingo at Animal Kingdom

Bluey and Bingo will appear live in person in Bluey’s Wild World at Disney’s Animal Kingdom. However, it seems the sisters will be on stage in an interactive show with dancing and games rather than greeting guests for individual photos. This is similar to how the Bluey experience at Disneyland is operating.
Disney did not mention whether this show will have scheduled showtimes or if activities will be ongoing.
Like virtual queues, the different types of character greetings are another hot topic among theme park fans. Some guests would rather wait in a long line if it means they get their own family photo with a favorite character. Other guests are satisfied with a quick, distanced selfie.
Which approach Bluey would take at Disney’s Animal Kingdom was a question mark until now, so regardless of fans’ preference, they now have clarity on what Disney will do and can plan accordingly.

Though it’s obviously not the same, guests can still kind of pose for family photos with Bluey and Bingo via new Magic Shots from Disney PhotoPass, which will digitally insert the characters into your posed photos. These Magic Shots will be available on the pathway between the park’s Africa and Asia areas.
Bluey Merch and New Novelty Items

A new collection of Bluey merchandise will launch on May 26 in tandem with the opening of Bluey’s Wild World. This includes apparel for both kids and adults.
The Bluey merchandise will be available exclusively at Disney’s Animal Kingdom at two locations:
- Island Mercantile on Discovery Island
- Out of the Wild in Bluey’s Wild World

On the one hand, Island Mercantile is a much bigger store than Out of the Wild, equipped with the operations and staffing to meet a high-demand merchandise release. On the other hand, the fact that Out of the Wild requires a virtual queue reservation and a train ride to access it may mean a simpler purchasing situation once guests actually get there.

A new Bluey sipper will be available at Pizzafari on Discovery Island, featuring a Bluey figure topper, and Bluey and Bingo on the cup itself. We expect this item to be available through Pizzafari’s mobile order option in addition to the restaurant’s standby ordering.
At Disneyland, a similar sipper was so popular that Disney temporarily changed the mobile order system for the restaurant. However, the location of Disneyland’s sipper was much smaller than Pizzafari and far less capable of mass operations, so we’ll see what happens here.
Bluey Food

Specialty food items will celebrate Bluey’s arrival at Disney’s Animal Kingdom:
- Fairy Bread Cake (Pizzafari) – vanilla birthday cake dipped in white chocolate and rainbow sprinkles with raspberry dipping sauce
- Wackadoo Fruit Freeze (Pizzafari) – frozen Simply Fruit Punch garnished with fruit salad
- Bluey’s Berry Lemonade (Pizzafari and Eight Spoon Café) – frozen Minute Maid Lemonade blended with flavors of blueberry, blackberry, and raspberry
- Pretzel’s Pretzels (Isle of Java) – soft mini pretzels with homemade cheese and blueberry-mustard sauces
Note that none of these are located within Bluey’s Wild World, so purchasing them does not require a virtual queue reservation or a ride on the Wildlife Express Train.
New Habitat for Park Animals

As part of Bluey’s Wild World, Jumping Junction will open as a new animal habitat. Representing Bluey’s home of Australia, the kangaroos and wallabies of Disney’s Animal Kingdom relocated to Jumping Junction from the Tree of Life Gardens and the Oasis, respectively.
Jumping Junction replaces the former Affection Section petting zoo area. The Affection Section goats and other animals are no longer featured at the park.
Return of Animal Kingdom Education Experiences
Since the opening of Disney’s Animal Kingdom in 1998, Conservation Station has been a place where guests can learn about some of the behind-the-scenes components of the park’s care for its animal residents. When Bluey’s Wild World opens on May 26, many of those familiar educational opportunities will return after being closed since February.
These include the veterinary window, where guests can observe real medical procedures, as well as spots to learn about animal nutrition, amphibians and reptiles, and Disney’s overall science initiatives.
Animation Class Not Returning, But Opening Soon in a New Way
Rafiki’s Planet Watch was previously home to The Animation Experience at Conservation Station, a free class during which guests learned how to draw a favorite Disney animal character under the instruction of a live cast member.
The Animation Experience is not part of Bluey’s Wild World, and there is no longer any animation class at Disney’s Animal Kingdom.

However, a new kind of animation attraction will open later this summer inside The Magic of Disney Animation at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. During an experience called Olaf Draws!, guests will take part in a drawing class led by an Audio-Animatronics figure of Olaf from Frozen and a prerecorded video of a professional Disney animator.
The Animation Experience at Conservation Station is one of several attractions that recently closed at Disney’s Animal Kingdom to make way for new ones. Looking ahead, an expansion with Encanto and Indiana Jones rides will open in 2027.
