Top 10 Best Hotels Near Disneyland Within a 10 Minute or Less Walk

Choosing a hotel is a very important step in planning a Disneyland vacation. Unlike Disney World on the other coast, there are plenty of non-Disney-owned hotels that are only a short walk away from the resort entrance on foot. As a matter of fact, some of these offsite options are even closer than Disney’s three official on-property Disneyland Resort hotels.

We always recommend staying at a hotel within walking distance of Disneyland. You’ll save money on additional transportation, have the convenience of being able to easily pop back to your hotel for a mid-day break or nap, and don’t need to worry about the hassle of waiting for a bus or other transportation to get to and from the parks. You’ll find that many of the options on this list are both affordable and convenient, making them a great choice for families who want to enjoy a parks-focused trip. Keep reading for our top 10 favorite hotels near Disneyland with a 10-minute or less walk! Also, see our list of the overall best hotels near Disneyland.

Grand Californian Hotel & Spa

Disneyland Hotel map overview

No list of the best walking distance hotels near Disneyland would be complete without Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel and Spa. This luxurious hotel with beautiful Craftsman-style design is the most upscale (and pricey) of the three on-property resort hotels.

It also comes with the added perk of being the closest hotel to the parks, with a dedicated entrance to Disney California Adventure into Grizzly Peak and roughly a 5-minute walk from the Disneyland Park entrance.

The hotel boasts amenities like the full-service Tenaya Stone Spa, a massive pool area with three themed pools, some of our favorite dining spots (including the character dining Storytellers Cafe, GCH Craftsman Bar & Grill, and the Napa Rose), and more.

This will certainly be the most expensive option on this list, but for those willing to splurge, the relaxing atmosphere, thoughtful Disney details, and proximity to the parks make it the best option on this list.

The Fairfield Inn is located right across the street from Disneyland, about a 7-minute walk from the main entrance. Google Maps thinks it’s longer, but the walk should be under 10 minutes.

The Fairfield Inn offers Disney-inspired guest rooms with Smart TVs with streaming, and free high-speed Wi-Fi. The hotel also offers a heated outdoor pool and whirlpool, as well as a fitness center. Many rooms have great views of Disneyland with icons like the Matterhorn and Space Mountain visible, and you can watch the fireworks from outside of your room. Many of the rooms are adjoined, so this hotel is a good choice if you’re traveling with a bigger group.

Camelot Inn

Camelot Inn is a great option located across the street from Disneyland and a short walk from the entrance. The walk from the hotel to the gates is about 8 minutes.

Another great hotel that is only a short walk to the entrance is the family-friendly Castle Inn and Suites, which is about a 10-minute walk from the gates. The medieval theming makes it a great option for families with young kids.

Westin Anaheim Resort

Westin Anaheim walk to Downtown Disney

On the west side of Disneyland (the Disneyland Drive side), the luxurious Westin Anaheim Resort stands out as one of the best overall hotel options near Disneyland. This is my personal favorite hotel near Disneyland, and as a matter of fact, some prefer it over Disney’s Grand Californian.

Book the lowest prices on the hotel HERE >

Mentioning the Westin on this list comes with the caveat that the actual walking time depends on whether you’re headed to Disneyland Park or Disney California Adventure, as the best way to get there is through Downtown Disney. If you’re heading to Disneyland Park, it’s a 10-minute walk to the Monorail. If you’re heading to Disney California Adventure, you should plan for roughly 10 more minutes of walking.

RISE Rooftop Lounge

Some of the Westin’s guest rooms have awesome views of the Incredicoaster, and there is a variety of dining options downstairs, including Puesto, RISE Rooftop Lounge overlooking Disney California Adventure with fireworks views, Fleming’s Prime Steakhouse & Wine Bar, Blossom Cafe & Market (which I will go out of my way for), and more.

Disneyland Hotel

On the west end of Downtown Disney is the iconic Disneyland Hotel, the original hotel on property that has been there since 1955. This is the on-property hotel to stay at if you want the quintessential Disney experience.

Book the lowest Disneyland hotel prices >

If you’re headed to Disneyland Park, the Downtown Disney Monorail Station is just a few minutes away on foot. To get to the esplanade, where you can enter Disney California Adventure, is about a 10-minute walk. You can see the short walk to the Monorail station above.

The hotel contains a themed pool area with two Monorail waterslides, thoughtful Disney touches in every room, and dining like the Palm Breeze Bar and famous Goofy’s Kitchen character dining.

While it is not the hotel on this list with the closest walk to the gates, it is still a very reasonable walk and easy to get to and from if you want to take a midday break or swim in the pool.

Courtyard by Marriott Anaheim Theme Park Entrance

This is definitely a great choice for families with kids that for many guests rivals the Disneyland Hotel’s elaborate pool area.
